It's a little sad that, because you can't even show an already dead mouse on CZcams because of the complainers, we haven't heard "give it a little flip" for a long time.
That hawk was on alert. I don't know if it was just your camera it was keeping an eye on or if something else was keeping it attentive to it's surroundings.
when they are on the ground they are extremely vulnerable. Their eyes point forward unlike most birds that have near 360 coverage, so they have huge blind spots and when they are focused on the mice on the ground they can't see anything around them. Similar to human vision. That's why they tend to be very cautious
Its also probably because if theres a dead body something else is also probably looking for it Its like the same thing for humans finding a dead body thats freshly bleeding whatever killed it is probably still there
Looks beefy! Even the best plastic traps inevitably break, as long as you keep the KORO from rusting, it aint goin anywhere. Looks like it would have a pretty low maim rate which is another plus.
It's like Shawn's waiting there in the dark, watching and listening, motionless for hours, waiting for the moment the trap goes off. At least in my mind 🤣
@@-danR Some time back that pretty much happened where I live. Spotted one scampering out of my room one night, set up a snap trap in the hallway and not ten minutes later (while I'm trying to get to sleep) there's a loud SNAP so I get up to check on it ... sure enough, it caught one. Not a clean snap, though, the rodent had a lot of struggle left in it.
According to Wiktionary, Koro is “a delusional syndrome found in Malay and southern Chinese populations, characterized by a belief that the subject’s penis will retract into the abdomen and cause death.” I must say, that’s an interesting naming choice for a rat trap.
I just saw your thumb nail on a idaho news station for a invasive species story.... I love all your content keep it going I am formally from the valley before the vid and have always enjoyed seeing my home area in your videos! Keep it real and God bless u and your family!
Some modifications to increase the trigger sensitivity. File a flat spot on the kill bar for the catch to rest against, and put something to partly fill the notch in the catch so you consistently set the trap on a hair trigger. Perhaps a zip tie that loops around the bait plate?
Good, you listen to my request for making this. Though you had an older review of this, this is really useful. Thanks again dear Shawn and you're the man all mice of the world including rats, moles, etc should be concerned off!
The Hawk very fairly and patiently waited for anyone else to claim the dead mouse. Since no claimants came forward, it was finally decided that the meal was his.
It's like "one piece at a time"...You have to seat somewhere around to emptify and recharge the one over and over again...Is it practical for a problematic household?..
The birds will get accustomed to seeing the camera placed as a sign of food they are always watching what is going on. The crows steal the peanuts just buried by squirrels around my place.
Yeah that trap is meant more for rats a you stated. I've been watchin "Twin Home Experts" on YT recently and they've been using this trap along with other methods to get rid of Rat infestations.
I kinda think this is just like a common mouse trap but with different design and like the common mouse trap, it works. I really hope you'll make another mouse trap based from patents, I really like those videos specially when you're making it...

That hawk is just one reason not to use poison.
The best part of these videos is watching the wild animals have a snack. What a beautiful bird.
I especially enjoy the day feedings just to see birds of prey, they're so damn cool
💔😭🐀💔
The redtail hawk is the most loyal subscriber of this channel, always looking forward to next video.
Love seeing that hawk as a regular visitor.
That hawk has claimed the area.
The red-tail always enjoys a mouse snack, but it's wondering when it will get a full meal like the animals at the dam sometimes get.
It might be just a snack, but it’s going to tide it over until it finds a meal that is more it’s size
What?
@@RattiusHattus That grey squirrel would fit the bill.
I have used peanut oil to lubricate the latch devices on mouse and rat traps to make them more sensitive. That may be worth a try on this trap.
so they get attracted to the hinges?
rats don’t have that much force
@@official-obamaNo, so the release mechanism (sear in firearms) is lubricated with an oil whose smell will actually help attract rodents.
coconut oil will work too
That red-tailed hawk is becoming almost a pet.
It's a little sad that, because you can't even show an already dead mouse on CZcams because of the complainers, we haven't heard "give it a little flip" for a long time.
People somehow get offended by it.
@@veikkakarvonen831 Some people get offended by reality.
That hawk was on alert. I don't know if it was just your camera it was keeping an eye on or if something else was keeping it attentive to it's surroundings.
You would too if you had Crows, Owls, Coyotes, Bocats, and house pets at any moment harass you. Or worse... 🦅

That's why they tend to be very cautious
And, it was obvious the mouse wasn't going to hop up and run away...so no rush.
Its also probably because if theres a dead body something else is also probably looking for it

Wow, that hawk just gobbled down that mouse.
I was thinking the same thing. Gobbled it down in about 5 seconds.
What a beautiful hawk, glad to hear you provide the pluses and minuses of a special piece of equipment.
The hawk should have stuck around for the second course 😄
The koro brand traps are great! I have the large rodent traps that I use for Gray squirrles. Serious gear for sure!
The [spoiler] loved the mouse you left for it. The squirrel was left empty handed.
Looks beefy! Even the best plastic traps inevitably break, as long as you keep the KORO from rusting, it aint goin anywhere. Looks like it would have a pretty low maim rate which is another plus.
He says is that it? come on Shawn where's the rest of them?
The bird looks around like it's thinking "I can't believe my luck!!"
You are lucky to have so many beautiful creatures to feed snacks too. That Redtailed Hawk is so beautiful!
The mice was miaymi, from the face expression of the hawk
2:00 that's a fine-looking birb. Love seeing the animals that eat the mice you catch
"That red-tailed hawk is gonna get _CHONKY_ if he keeps hanging around your place!"
it's always odd seeing that jump cut where Shawn walks in the video after the trap goes off.
It's like Shawn's waiting there in the dark, watching and listening, motionless for hours, waiting for the moment the trap goes off. At least in my mind 🤣
He’s waiting for that mouse, he’s mastered the art of staying still like drax and disappears
Plot twist: Shawn sleeps on a cot in the barn all night. The trap wakes him up and he jumps out of bed immediately, hollering _aHA!!_ Got 'em!!
@@-danR Some time back that pretty much happened where I live. Spotted one scampering out of my room one night, set up a snap trap in the hallway and not ten minutes later (while I'm trying to get to sleep) there's a loud SNAP so I get up to check on it ... sure enough, it caught one.

😂
I love your videos Shawn. You have given me, and I am sure hundreds-thousands of people, lots of excellent advice. 👌
Keep up the good work.
this hawk is very famous, every time eat mice!!!
I just saw your thumb nail on a idaho news station for a invasive species story.... I love all your content keep it going I am formally from the valley before the vid and have always enjoyed seeing my home area in your videos! Keep it real and God bless u and your family!
54. Shuan, in 30 seconds you pointed at that trap 54 times. Then 33 times more before the end. 87 times total.
What is it about it we're not getting?
The hawk is so beautiful.
Leave a trail of mice to the barn... maybe a little sign: "Eat At Shawn's"
Some modifications to increase the trigger sensitivity. File a flat spot on the kill bar for the catch to rest against, and put something to partly fill the notch in the catch so you consistently set the trap on a hair trigger. Perhaps a zip tie that loops around the bait plate?
I love your videos but especially at the end to regularly see this magnificent hawk.
Very cool. Nice of you to feed the hawk.
Wow, that hawk was cautious
They're incredibly vulnerable on the ground
Okay, that Hawk has figured out that something is going on with all these free meals, but he hasn't figured out exactly what it is yet...
I think the redtailed hawk is trying to get more screen time
Good, you listen to my request for making this. Though you had an older review of this, this is really useful. Thanks again dear Shawn and you're the man all mice of the world including rats, moles, etc should be concerned off!
Mice, rats, squirrels, chipmunks, moles, voles and gophers... ☝️😆
Hawky would like to make a request: please do another plank style trap to catch multiple rodents ;)
my favorite part about mondays
That Hawk absolutely LOVES you!...very frequent at your backyard buffet!!
At least the Falcon asked around if that was someone else's food lol.
Hawk approaches...sees camera and mouse...thinks: 'Huh. Guess I'm gonna be on CZcams. Again!'
The mouse was literally a snack.
That hawk was suspicious of that mouse like free food don't come along in the wild
The hawk has made enough appearances that it needs a name.
Hawk ate that mouse like it was the last french fries.
Mr. Hawk is baaack! Love it.
I think that hawk is waiting for you.
The hawk looks so suspicious of this free meal in a field.
Wow, one gulp and it was gone, hair teeth and eyeballs.
That hawk has great situational awareness
The hawk seemed worried someone would see him eat it.
The advertisement photo shows a safety hook? Did you remove yours??
Love how the hawk looks around.... "am i being punk'd?"
As always Shawn, gloves Shawn gloves. Protect yourself and your family.
And your family? Bruh 💀
The Hawk very fairly and patiently waited for anyone else to claim the dead mouse. Since no claimants came forward, it was finally decided that the meal was his.
I think the hawk is enjoying a treat every week...
The mouse was immediately reincarnated as a squirrel... (Shawn) That squirrel looks non-native... hold my beer...
The trap works well, that Hawk enjoyed his meal 👍. Thanks for sharing.
LOve your videos, Shawn. Surprised that one of the big networks hasn't approached you for a trap documentary. John in Texas
works great on moles, squirrels, spotted skunks and pine marten too
Happy new year Shawn, God bless you snd family. Thanks for the video.
It's like "one piece at a time"...You have to seat somewhere around to emptify and recharge the one over and over again...Is it practical for a problematic household?..
Looks more appropriate for a squirrel. I like how it comes w/ a tether
put some grease or oil where the latch is reducing friction and giving it a hair trigger .
The pet mice are relived their PTSD is not triggered by being brought out for this trap. ;-)
This mouse traps primary purpose is to strike fear into the heart and soul of any mouse starting with mickey and Minnie
That was a very fluffy squirrel
I am amazed at the number of mice that show up. Are you raising them for the videos?
I was expecting the hawk to grab the mouse in its claw and then tear bits off with its beak.
the pet mice got the day off :-)
Love that bird. I come each week to catch a look at him
when you need to catch stainless steel rats, you need a stainless steel trap
Looks like a mini version of a Magnum body gripper trap that catches Squirrels or Rabbits.
Still sucks that CZcams wont allow you to show the trap in action without it being hidden
wasn't hidden in this video tho lol
1:53 Stay!
Tell CZcams it's a heavy duty mouse chiropractic adjustment device.
Beautiful bird! Thank you once again!
The birds will get accustomed to seeing the camera placed as a sign of food they are always watching what is going on. The crows steal the peanuts just buried by squirrels around my place.
I think the hawk knows or suspects he is being watched before he gets the mouse.
Hawk goes ,just the one ,your letting me down Shawn
On a second look, it seems they actually sent you the KORO mole trap.
Good work Crawdaddy.
The hawk was beautiful 😊
I see your usual dinner guest made an appearance :-)
The KORO Rodent trap is not listed on Amazon ??
Do they make one for those destructive Groundhogs? Love your videos. Keep those traps coming.
I forget it was Monday until I saw this TYSM president day
Yeah that trap is meant more for rats a you stated. I've been watchin "Twin Home Experts" on YT recently and they've been using this trap along with other methods to get rid of Rat infestations.
I can't get the traditional trap to work. I try and try but can't get it.
Mmmmm, that’s the way to eat a scrumptious mouse. Great video thanks.
Such a beautiful bird!
I kinda think this is just like a common mouse trap but with different design and like the common mouse trap, it works. I really hope you'll make another mouse trap based from patents, I really like those videos specially when you're making it...
Hi Shawn I think that beautiful hawk was wondering why there was only one.
Shawn could we see you test out the miniature rat leg hold traps? They look super awesome but are they functional?
That hawk starting to look a little thick
What good is a barn trap that only catches one animal ?
do they make any traps that look like hawks... or would that just scare them off?
Awesome love the hawk
Always a great video.
