    Hello, Alex. I have learned a lot from your explanations, especially the distribution of signals in parallel paths of objects.
    It a pity Pro Tools, for example, is limited to multidimensional beds and not objects, using DAR.
    We don't know if Dolby Atmos plans to develop the function of operating multidimensional objects in its Renderer, as Steinberg Nuendo does, for example. Furthermore, through Nuendo you can convert BED into OBJECTS, not only stereo-to-stereo, but also multidimensional-to-multidimensional. Let's wait for that in PT.
    Good mix!

    At 5:35 you are showing your object bed, does this replace the use for an Upmix plugin? It seems like you are accomplishing the same thing with more control.

    If you have the lead vocals in the listening position, what are your binaural settings?

  • @4AR_Mix
    @4AR_Mix Před 6 měsíci

    When you said the Wizkid vocals are in the listening position, center as in "on the front wall" or center of the room "off the wall" ? Literally on the head in the renderer? lol
    Thanks!!

    Hey Alex I wanted to ask you something about what you said about panning stuff in different positions at the same time, indeed it does not cause any phase issues in a well treated room, but is it the same in a random living room that happens to have Atmos? Are we not gunna get cancellations there?

    • @DolbyAtmosMixing
      @DolbyAtmosMixing  Před 6 měsíci

      Hi there. Great question. According to Dolby, there are setup guides for music studios and home theatre. This ensures mix translation to Dolby Atmos compatible systems. Although I’m not familiar with home theater setups, I found this guide which should help: www.dolby.com/about/support/guide/home-theater-setup/

    Hi Alex, on your LFE channel do you use linear phase filters?

    • @DolbyAtmosMixing
      @DolbyAtmosMixing  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I don’t. I only use the subharmonic plugin on the LFE and use it sparingly.

    Alex what would you consider ear candy? Where would you put such things? I agreed with not having stuf just wildly panning arround. Do people really do that? I think the best way I'd approach the Atmos mix if I had all the gear and were I a pro is what ambiance do the artist and I wana create? I think people now need to rethink music. As now you can present it as actually should be heard. For all the nay sayers I say but why nay? You basically hear in Atmos. So Atmos mixes should be done with reality hearing in mind. That's my 2 sence.
