Banding/Ringing Of Eastern Imperial Eaglets In Tatarstan! 💕 A Boy & A Girl! 💕 7.10.24

- Broadcast from the nest of the sun eagles in Tartastan Russia with the male eagle Altyn and the new female eagle Nova in the Almetyevsk region. In 2024, Altyn returned on March 24. A new female (Nova) appeared on March 24. Nova is a young female & this is her first breeding season. The first egg was laid on April 17. The 2nd egg - April 20. The first chick hatched on May 29, the second - on the 30th. The nest is on a pine tree 20 meters (65 feet) above the ground.The author of the project and ornithologist Rinur Bekmansurov, goes into the nest to band/ring the two eaglets.
The eaglets are banded H29 for the boy and A85 for the girl (oldest). ♥
The project is conducted by the staff of the Nizhnyaya Kama National Park.
The camera in the nest was installed as a part of the project "Conservation of eagle populations living in the territory of PJSC Tatneft operation". The live stream has been live since 2021. The project is also actively supported by birdwatchers and volunteers. The project manager is Rinur Bekmansurov.
The previous couple of eagles had names Altyn (male) and Altynay (female).
In 2024, there was a change of female. A new female received the name Nova. Thank you for watching!

It's a beautiful job that requires a lot of dedication and love for these adorable Birds of Prey, in addition to the risk of climbing high to reach them!! For an operation that would have required time, wouldn't it have been better to cover the heads to the Eaglets to avoid instilling terror in them!! ❤

They are beautiful eaglets - just love how the female put on her best "I'm an eagle and I am not afraid of you!" stance while her younger brother made himself as small as possible. Big sister was more submissive at the end but both were ready for it to be over. Wonderful to see the same process for banding must be a global standard. I hope we get to see them again. Hi Brendy yes it could have been the heat and also a fear factor - when eaglets are in a stressful situation they can become very quiet and pancake down in the nest. It is a self preservation mode they instinctually do. The oldest female was very alert and ready to take him on lol :)

Sun eaglets are definitely the most fierce when it comes to humans climbing up the nest. They are so young but feisty and can use their talons and beaks instinctively much better than other young chicks. Amazing banding video

Yes they are fine. They can become a bit traumatized from the banding and seem a bit lethargic afterwards.

You never really get a sense of how big they are, and the nest either. Nice to see a good size comparison vs human, especially here 41:40 where he lifts up the eaglets head for a photo op.

Thank you dear friend for sharing with us this complicated but in this case smoothly done procedure of banding❤💐 💞 Thanks to banding telemetric data is available after eagles fledge. Also we know their sex and what condition they are in. This is critical, thanks to that we know that last year both fledgeling tragically didn't survive. They both died on high voltage lines 💔 In Tatarstan for years now, conservationists try to change that and fight in court with companies building those lines to install security and protect this amazing eagles from declining 🙏❤️ Rinur devoted his life for these birds. I personally admire this man a lot. Kudos Rinur and good luck for your dedication and determination 🤞💞❤ 🤗 🍀👍 I think this year there's no transmitters on eaglets.
