I really really like this blue iPhone, as a Samsung fan, what kills it for me it's the display on the iPhone being stuck at 60 GHz. They truly missed the chance to adquire new users from Android by doing this. Other than that, is a solid phone. I cannot wait to see what the S24 lineup brings next year

I prefer the flexibility and customization options offered by Samsung, especially with features like downloading Google APK apps and connecting to various devices like my TV, fridge, Quest 3 VR, and smartwatch. Samsung also provides practical features such as fingerprint recognition, closing all apps with a tap, and customization options, including ad blockers. While iPhones are popular with a sleek design, they might not offer the same level of customization and connectivity that I value. Considering the 40% price difference in favor of Samsung, it seems like a practical choice for my preferences. Also, iPhones automatically turn on at 2% after charging, but Samsungs won't, and you have to turn them on yourself. Additionally, the UI loading on Samsung can be a bit much. I've noticed that my old Samsung Galaxy, compared to my old iPhone from 2015, tends to lag, and the battery drains quickly. However, it's worth mentioning that people usually upgrade their phones after two years. In my opinion, if you want to avoid potential issues like bullying or viruses, it might be a safer choice to go for the iPhone.

the camera's downfall that you mentioned on S23 comes down to people preferences, back in the days, when iPhones shots and videos used to look like that, people said (it's more natural and samsung has too vibrant and contrasty look), however, everything can be modified through camera settings cuz you have plenty options to choose from and aside from that you can edit colors yourself while maintaining a decent Dynamic range and details. one ui customization is great, but imo it still isn't close to beating the consistency of iOS, and continues to be bloated. like the way apple uses an identical grid layout for essentially every single full screen system ui (home screen, widgets panel, control center, app library), it makes the experience feel very cohesive and more premium, and it doesn't have the conflicting dialogues and app designs (google vs samsung apps) that one ui, at least a year or 2 ago, had.

Hi @MatthewMoniz, I heard that starting from the 23rd series the phone got a "Pause USB Power Delivery" feature. In theory, this is very useful for many people (when using the phone for navigation, DeX mode, gaming...) as it prevents the phone's battery from charging and saves battery cycles. Does it work? Does Samsung S23 (not ultra) have it? Can it be used in stand by mode (e.g. as an office worker, I don't need the phone during working hours)?

I've a Routine with 100% brightness and 10 minutes for document reading at office and all such things. I have a s20 (Exynos) and I am in pain, I bought it new in 2021, my phone with screen protector dropped 3 times and the upper part of the screen doesn't work lol, I use the Samsung one hand mode for over a year, but it is also having charging issues (phone taking 4 hours to charge), green screen when in low brightness of the screen, multiple ghost clicks etc. I always thought that apple phones last more, so I am thinking of getting the iPhone 15 instead of the s23. (Not pro version) I could never use the 120hz anyways, the battery never lasted longer than 5 hours in economy mode that doesn`t allow 120hz. Does the S23 have face ID to verify payment as what iPhone have? I just switched to iPhonr 15 pro, but turns out that it can do less thing than android, but i have to admit that the iPhone face ID and camera is better than android phone. And the face id for banking payment in iPhone is also convenient. If only S23 enable us to use face ID to verify payment, im seriously thinking to switch back

I can't recommend the iPhone for one reason 60 Hertz display! I don't care how you think you feel about it. The refresh rate on the screen is the one hardware feature that every person will appreciate. This excuse of iPhone users don't care about refresh rate is complete BS. If you put 60 Hertz iPhone in front of somebody versus a 120 Hertz iPhone in front of somebody, they will 100% be able to tell the difference. And anybody telling you otherwise is an Apple fanboy who's brainwashed or they just never experienced 120 Hertz refresh rate. Which is a tragedy! John Prosser is trying to say 120 Hertz doesn't matter but every iPhone user I speak to which is a lot. They all admit that 120 Hertz is superior! Especially at $700 plus dollars. Only a fool will say refresh rate doesn't matter. But that's why Apple has a lot of users. It's just a lot of fools who don't know what they're talking about.

I've been using Samsung all my adult life. In fact, I currently use an S22 Ultra. I've been blown away by the camera quality of this phone plus the cool features you could not get on an iPhone such as the S Pen and Dex. But, over time, it gets laggy. It's supposed to be a flagship device so it's totally frustrating. My wife is rocking an oldish iPhone 11 but it's still smooth and it's also more optimized for social media use. My next phone will most likely be the iPhone 15 Pro Max when my contract expires in a couple of months. I'm keeping my S22U to get the best of both worlds. ❤
    My use cases:
    S22U
Video consumption due to smaller punch hole
    Portrait and 10X zoom
    Work/Business apps
    Dex
    Casting to Samsung TV
    Selfies due to S-Pen
    IPPM
    Social Media - optimized
    Gaming - powerful chip
Main Camera use - no shutter lag
    Vlogging - better cinematic videos

      @johnwasgeht5263 Před 7 měsíci +11

@@MatthewMoniz Nice to read from you but I disagree very much. Just because the iPhone 15 Pro cost way more for the same features does not mean they are not contenders. You should take the features as the main criteria, not simply the price.
Apple is always more expensive for similar features. What I mean with portrait cam is a cam close to the typical classic focal lenght range for portraits. A wide angle that may crop is not the same as a proper lense.

I tried it on my S23U and TBH, I forgot I had changed it. Made no difference to me. Science says people cannot see more than 60FPS unless they are gifted (a tiny per cent), so the extra FPS is just perception, which is down to individuality. Up to 30% cannot even notice, and then there is a sliding scale regarding what people perceive. Of course, Matthew clearly notices it, as do many others, and they will hate returning to 60Hz, but for me, my perception is nominal, and it really is not something that I even think about.
