    Another simple and inexpensive way to test is an iodine skin patch test. This test may indicate if an iodine deficiency exists however it not considered as accurate as the iodine loaded urine test. It involves painting a 5 by 5 cm patch of iodine tincture onto your inner arm or thigh. If the stain remains or only slightly lightens after 24 hours then your levels are considered normal. If the stain disappears, or almost disappears, in under 24 hours then there is a possibility you are deficient, if it disappears, or nearly disappears, under 10 hours then are likely to be deficient and should consider supplementation. Please note that an iodine tincture is required for this test which is iodine dissolved in ethanol. A water based preparation such as lugols is not suitable.

      @swingister Před měsícem

      @@judypeterson9952 Dr Brownstein does not consider the patch test accurate. The reality is that if you live in the US there is no reason to test, you are deficient. The combination of the lack of iodine in our diet and the constant bombardment of chlorine, fluoride and Bromide means everyone is deficent and women are much more deficient than men because breast tissue is the second largest user of iodine after the thyroid. I took 50 mg for two years ( yes MGs) I did the urine test after that and I was still short of an ideal level. Get on the iodine, don't worry about testing for at least 6 months.

    I have hypothyroidism and take levothyroxine, 112 MCG daily. I stopped using iodized salt almost a year ago thinking I didn't need it because I was already on Levothyroxine. I wanted to check my iodine levels so I did the standard test and painted a 2-inch square of the orange iodine tincture on my forearm to see how long it would take to fade and dissappear.
    According to every source I've checked, if you are *not* deficient in iodine, then the patch should start to fade after 24 hours. If it starts to fade between 18 and 24 hours that signifies mild deficiency. 12-18 hours is moderate deficiency, 6-12 hours is severe, and if the patch disappears in less than 6 hours, that would be considered very severe. The iodine patch I painted on literally disappeared completely in less than 2 hours!
    I have been experiencing unexplained fatigue for many months and couldn't figure out why. This could explain it. I just bought some iodized salt and hope it will correct my deficiency, but don't know how long it will take to normalize my iodine levels. Or should I start taking an iodine supplement like lugol's?

      I just wanted to chime in on this to let you know that iodized salt is not a good solution. There is truly no way for them to know how much iodine remains in the salt. A large portion of it evaporates quickly after being processed AND it's storing conditions/length of time affect it's quality as well. I place lugals over my breasts as I am working on reversing my fibrocystic breast masses while also on the carnivore zero plant lifestyle. I have been on carnivore for 1 year and 5 months, and my fibrocystic masses are almost gone. I have placed a drop of 2% or 5% in a glass of water once a day, but at times it bothers my stomach. So I prefer to just to rub on my chest in patches and rotate it around each day. Works great. I don’t get any reactions. I have noticed if I apply days in a row I may get leg cramps. That’s probably due to the lugals having potassium in it. So it you make your own water magnesium spray and place a tiny bit on the legs to balance out your electrolytes.

Peyronie’s is a curvature of the penis usually caused from an injury and develops over a long period of time. Great video, thanks! I began putting one drop of Lugol's iodine in water and drank it, but it was too strong I think 12.5% (someone gave me their bottle) because my throat felt funny like it was swelling, and my gums and teeth tingled! So I quickly drank more water, and added some salt as I heard that was good and eventually it went away. Then I bought some 2% Lugol's iodine and put one drop in a big glass of water and I was fine. Did it every day but began feeling the tingly feeling in my chin and lips again, so went to three times a week and this worked well. So I tried adding a day gradually and began to get some stomach issues though I took it with food. It was annoying because I was beginning to get my energy back and feeling alive again. I took a break of a week or more, and today I watched your video and tried a palm sized patch on my inside arm. It was the 2% and I put a few drops and rubbed it around but I have to say it was quite pale almost right away? Just went a pale orange color. I had to keep checking it against the other arm to see how it was doing! I'd say it was almost gone in 1.5 hrs! So I guess I'm depleted? I'll do it daily as you say until it stays longer.
    I have a question about this fading thing, my chiropractor suggested when I told him about this test that maybe it's not absorbing it's really evaporating? I told him I didn't think so. Could it partially evaporate? Also the roller ball idea I love and I looked for them on Amazon and they have stainless steel ball in them, would this be okay with the iodine or should I look for some other type? thanks in advance for any information. :)

      @LuvBritTV Před rokem +5

      @@jerriwarren1413 I guess Tana didn't want to answer my question on the evaporation. By the way the roller ball idea didn't work for me as the iodine keeps gumming them up and they don't roll well. So @JerriWarren to your question, I use the Lugol's Iodine as I said, and ended up bypassing the oral way, and putting 2 drops on one forearm and rubbing my two forearms together. It spread on each arm, but is still gone quick. I keep forgetting to use it daily, but I probably use it every other day or so, and sometimes I put it on my inner thigh. Any soft skin is preferable. I've had no further allergic type issues since doing it this way. I think you can rub some right on the thyroid area? Start small and work up, I'm no expert but you can possibly find info on this online. Just type in iodine rubbed on thyroid area for example? I'm feeling better these days, so I feel it's working! Good luck with it Jerri! Thanks for your comment on the allergy, glad it's not just me! I'm taking Selenium so it shouldn't do that, but everyone's different and some may be sensitive. Skin works better for me.♥

    14:50 Nineteenth-century doctors would agree with this theory.

      @@BeWellClinicLoveland I have the book.
      From personal experience I disagree; one should not take lugol internally (it's fine for one drop a day) if one doesn't have a tumor or parasite. It was never meant for that use either, but rather for topical application or to add to baths.
      And if you do have an infection, free iodine taken internally (lugol) may harm you as much as the infection; whereas the iodides seem to be of greater help.
      Maybe other people have different results, but I would caution that, if you start feeling miserable on high dose lugol, stop, recover, and consider taking potassium- or sodium iodide instead. Free iodine is very reactive and inflames the body.
      IIRC, people have died from taking a single dose of free iodine as low as 0.25g (about 40 drops of lugol 15%), whereas the _starting_ dose for potassium iodide is 0.5g thrice a day for some afflictions (such as for heavy metal poisoning), and going way up from there every few days, without any harmful effects.

I purchased the Lugol’s 2% iodine but I’m unsure what to do with it. I don’t have access to any practitioner other than my medical doctor. I have been told I have a fatty liver and I do have a few gall stones so I’m worried that if I take some or apply it, the detox process may be too severe (as happened to me by taking colloidal silver in the past). • @stevemiller6044
    @stevemiller6044 Před 3 měsíci +2

    Topical application is a problem because most/a lot of the iodine will sublimate off(essentially evaporate). Will some be absorbed? probably, but COLOR is NOT a good indicator of how much is absorbed. The thought of placing a topical substance "near" where there is a problem is just nonsense. This will work only a very few millimeters or a tiny fraction of an inch in the skin. Then the blood stream of the skin washes it away and it will get mixed with the whole body's blood, and then the blood will eventually expose the iodine to the body's tissues. So topical ONLY directly effects the top of the skin where applied, not deeper than 1/16 of an inch, for example, if applied on the breast it is laughable to think it will directly effect a cyst inside of the breast (even a 1/4 of an inch away)MORE than if you applied it to your foot. It is absorbed by the skin, returns to the heart in the blood, and then EVENTUALLY gets to go to the targeted area, and everywhere else, after being diluted by the blood volume, so there is no "concentrated" effect. Putting iodine on your throat to be near the thyroid IS NOT any better than placing iodine on your back or butt. It is just voodoo/fakery to think topical application can be more effective "over" the area. Think wart etc. for direct action, just a fraction of an inch ...otherwise placing it anywhere will work just the same as placing the iodine anywhere else. There is no blood flow or absorption or diffusion from the skin to "inside" the body, all will be absorbed by the skin and returned to the heart. Topical application gets absorbed by the skin, returns thru the veins to the right side of the heart, goes to the lungs, back to the left side of the heart , then out to the aorta to the rest of the arteries and eventually goes to the rest of the body. Swallowing is a much better, surer, more predictable way to get iodine that is not in the form of food... however there is no free lunch.. it may cause GI upset, change gut flora. ...
