    That cooler's a slightly beefed up version of the two ThermalRight's I have (GT03s something, something IIRC), mine only have 6 heatpipes, but they were pretty good.
    However, I'd like to thank BZ for mentioning the Raijintek Morpheus II in a video sometime ago. I picked one up a few days ago for my R9 290X and it's great, finally have silenced the card at idle and quiet under full load (until I can afford a couple more Noctura fans so it'll be very quiet under full load).
    After-market GPU coolers are too rare these days!

    How does, having a jumper to the core affect the Control loop of the controller. In my experience messing around MPS voltage regulators which have multiple 100s of KHz or even MHz switching frequency the control loop is greatly accepted by the power plane impedance, Out capacitance and Minimum load ratio. Which JBC did you get and which station did you use before? Was it a direct drive one?

    • @ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking
      @ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking  Před 2 lety +10

      IDK how the control loop is affected all I go by is the voltage measurements from the oscilloscope. The power bridge did introduce some kind of weirdness to the Vcore at low loads but at full load it just shifted the whole waveform up. RMS went from 1.04V to 1.07V and the minimums and maximus increased by the same amount so the peak to peak didn't change. For that matter even the low load peak to peak stayed the same the waveform just looks a little different.
      As for the JBC I got a JBC CD-2BF with a T245 handpiece. Before I'd use a 150W ERSA soldering iron that's really more meant for soldering copper pipe than it is for electronics.

    Oh, what a ... )) For new VRM you must take Vcore from pin on old VRM controller, it's call like Vgpu_sense, and put to same pin on new VRM controller. This line goes direct from GPU crystal, so it will minimize voltage droop. And there same pin for GPU_GND. So, with this you don't need so much wire :)

    And you don’t even have the the data lines from the core connected to the Controller, how does that work out?

    • @ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking
      @ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking  Před 2 lety +9

      Running forward voltage sense lines is only necessary if you want the VRM to compensate for the voltage loss between the core and the power board. Since I'm only losing around 20mv right now I see no reason to bother. When on LN2 I'm pretty sure at 1.5V on the E-power I'll still be getting well over 1.4V at the core.
      As for the core talking to the VRM. Nvidia GPUs have basically braindead power delivery. The core only ever sends voltage requests. The core doesn't actually ever get any data or confirmations back from the VRM.
