@@confused3625 Not always in TV shows or movies, like you said they can be trained from a foal, however a lot of what these horses were taught were from when they were adults. Some of the "tricks" you can learn from liberty work. It's all really cool stuff.

Roger's voice just matches perfectly, rockstar casting has changed over the years, they used to go with famous actors but shifted to less known actors so the character can be bigger and it actually worked, performance wise it was also better

Yeah, several of the red dead cast have such unique voices. Roger's is amazing but the voice actors for John and Dutch are two of my favs as well.

I love Arthur's bond with his horse. The part in the final mission of the prologue when he stops, takes a knee, despite being shot at by a hundred Pinkertons, and thanks his horse for their service is heart wrenching. He risks himself to make sure his horse is comforted in it's final moments.

@JamAxoMcAmbystomaMexicanum that's not how it works. Prologue and epilogue occur before and after the main story respectively. Rdr2 technically doesn't have a prologue but you can consider chapter 1 to be a prologue. Hope that helps 🤓

I absolutely love AC but you can’t compare rdr2 horses to odyssey. They’re just to shit, (odyssey’s end of course). I just hope Ubisoft ups their game with a new AC. My opinion of course.

How fun! Horse actors are always a joy to watch because they have to have a lot of patience and bonding with their trainers to trust them. The horse laying down is a prime example. Horses will only lay on their sides when they feel comfortable (or when they want to get out of doing something), its a vulnerable position for them to be in and it can be difficult for them to get back up from laying on their side. For a horse to lay down on its side with big lights and cameras and funky tape (i think thats tape) on it shows how much they trust the judgement of the trainer even if they were a bit unsure

It's funny how the horses have no idea what they're participating in, there's no way they can even begin to comprehend it.
Maybe we're in such a thing as well, too simple minded to truly understand.

These stunts hurts the horses quite a lot too. A lot of agressive reinpulling. When the horse falls on it's side, they tilt his head over the shoulders so it loses balance. Naturally, a horse will go down on four legs and than push himself to the side. The bit in it's mouth will pull a lot to one side and as the horse lays down, the tension stays. It is actually highly uncomfortable. There is also no such thing as saying "they are used to it", because although they have learned to accept these tricks, it mentally and physically hurts them as it is unnatural and horses will always be preyanimals.
I personally think it is sad that they used a bit as it would be perfect to not give these horses a bit in the time the game plays. It would mean a lot of less pain.
A bit isn't cruel necessarily, but only if it's used in the right way: for steering. While riding, your arms must be independent of the mouth, so you don't hurt the horse. Pulling hurts them a lot. That is also why they will stop what they are doing.

So crazy how they’re able to do performance capture with animals now. Totally makes a difference too - just look at the back hooves of the horses in RDR1 when you gallop! They’re comically unnatural.

It's amazing the level of detail, dedication, love and professionalism Rockstar gives to the titles like RDR2. And at the same time I cannot comprehend what the hell happened with the GTA Trilogy "Definitive" Edition this year. What changed? Besides using a third party for the develompment. Weren't someone supervising that project? Nontheless, RDR2 is a true masterpiece in my opinion
