- The Last of Us was always about Joel and Ellie. But that doesn’t mean the world and factions of it are any less interesting. Until The Last of Us Part II release date trailer, only one new faction had been revealed - the seraphites. But with The Last of Us Part II release date trailer and outbreak day information a new one was revealed: The WLF or the wolves as they’re called by the seraphites. We don’t know a lot about the WLF/wolves in The Last of Us Part II. But everything we do know about the WLF/wolves in The Last of Us Part II i’ve put together and discussed in this video!
Hey everyone! So, as you may know, if you’ve watched my previous videos I’m a huge fan of the world of the last of us and it’s factions. The seraphites didn’t seem that interesting to me but now we have this new faction that was revealed for the last of us part II: The Washington liberation front (WLF) or the wolves as they’re also called. I find the WLF way more interesting and I go over everything we know about them as well as some theories I have in this video.

I'd have to look closer at the interrogation scene. It's hard to tell who's who without dialogue or any obvious visual markers
Hmm. Yeah agreed. It’s impossible to tell for sure if the interrogator is affiliated with the WLF considering their lack of a consistent uniform or logo like the fireflies. However he does look like he could fit in with his “regular clothing”. The WLF are also said to be evil & brutal and this interrogation/torture fits that description. but it may just as well be some other faction as well.

The WLFs freedom they were fighting for disappeared as soon as they got power then they became the oppressors. It seems when Ellie gets to Seattle the seraphites are fighting a war against the WLF and as we've seen in the trailers the seraphites have killed alot of the WLF. So the WLF might be the stronger group but the power might be shifting to the seraphites when Ellie shows up. My main question is why is Tommy in Seattle? Is Jackson still around or did he leave on his own? Did one of these groups invade Jackson or send people there to infiltrate Jackson from the inside by becoming part of the community? I have alot of questions and can't wait to find out

And hmm yeah that is an interesting point. The seraphites certainly seem like they’d be the weaker of the two, but let’s say a vengeful Ellie comes into the equation and assassinates some high ranking members disrupting their chain of command giving the seraphites an opening? Changing the tides of a war sounds like a really cool thing to have in part II!
And yeah that is a tricky one isn’t it? Oh I can’t for the life of me figure it out. It sounds absurd that the or one of the leaders of such a huge town would just up and leave. But the fact that Ellie is looking for him seems obviously tells us she knows he’s there. So him disappearing after having been captured seems rather unlikely, since how would anyone know where he’d gone? And why would a faction insistent on killing any and all outsiders even capture someone, let alone someone from a settlement several states away to begin with?
So many questions, definitely something I’ll have to make a video about.
@@TheiPadCat we've seen seraphites killing WLF members in two trailers so far and I'm not sure if we've seen the WLF members killing seraphites. It seems the seraphites have a deep seeded hatred of WLF.
I'm a little surprised they told us Ellie's looking for Tommy. Seems like it could be a big part of the story but without knowing the reasons for that just makes more questions.
Yes we’ve only seen seraphites kill WLF and not the other way around. But not in combat. For all we know this could all be captured members executed on their territory. The WLF may be doing the exact same thing to the seraphites on their territory.
And yeah I agree. actually seems like somewhat of a major spoiler in comparison to the other stuff we’ve learned. Maybe it isn’t though considering the supposed scale and scope of this game?
Tommy isnt in Seattle he got it wrong Tommy and his camp are at the damn in Jacksonville and Ellie leaves with Dina off to Seattle

Naughty Dog did a brilliant job with the WLF, their logo is a wolf and also their initials spell a shortened version of the word, “Wolf” aka, the WLF’s and others’ nickname for them

Theres something thats been bugging me ever since playing bill's town over and over again bill says "the infected dont scare me its the people that scare me you of all people should know that joel" ellie says "what does that mean" ive had a theory in my head but its bonkers what if joels past comes to haunt him, they attack the camp because of this, ellie goes on a murderous rampage joel decides to go with her for her not find too much about the past and the fireflies in the end ellie finds out and thats where i dont know how it will end druckmann has said multiple times no one is safe in the world of TLOU
Hmm yeah. I definitely want to see Joel’s past expanded upon. We know he was a hunter/bandit sometime during the 20 years between the prologue and the main game, and that it caused him and tommy to fall out. Whether or not it could come back to haunt him (other than psychologically of course) I don’t know. He’s now on the opposite side of the country than where he was then. And i don’t know what or who would come back to bite him, so to speak. He most likely just killed and robbed people for supplies. Of course maybe some family member of his victims could track him down. But other than that I don’t really see how. Of course we know very little about that period of his life, so ND has tons of freedom and space to add pretty much whatever they want so I’d say anything is possible!

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but in an interview Haley gross confirmed that ellie was after Tommy.
so basically what i think here is that anna (or mystery woman, whoever she is) has joined the wlf, and yara and lev are seraphites. maybe yara realized what her group does to people and wants to join the wlf, unknowing that they’re more dangerous. lev tried to stop her, but it’s too late and yara’s arms are broken.
but that’s just a theory. a game theory.
I don’t think the MW is Anna, but I do agree that she most definitely seems to be a WLF member. Lev and Yara we already knew from the PSX 2017 panel are former seraphites. I think they just happened upon each other by chance. Emily and her henchmen were obviously gonna execute the MW and probably Yara too for being an apostate or traitor. And Lev only came into the picture because he wanted to save his sister. I think Neil did mention something about circumstances forcing them to work together or smth.
(imo) W.L.F might be an easter egg that referred to Housen students from Crows Zero 2 Movie, becoz they are also wearing gray coat and most of subordinate men are clearly no hair. The Leader and lieutenant may be have long hair or weaboo-styled haircut.
I haven't seen that movie, maybe I'll check it out once we know more about the WLF
