That's what the Steam page reads. And honestly, I'm of a mind to believe what they say. If its predecessor, Vindictus is anything to go off of, Defying Fate is definitely going to be a dark, engaging, fast, action-packed game.
The one thing I'm most curious of is their mention of "navigating a 3D world teeming with mystery and danger." Vindictus was a hub-MMO with the bulk of the game transpiring in very small, linear, instanced dungeons. But this wording makes it sound like its successor, Defying Fate might provide us a much grander world to explore. Potentially.
Before we discuss what Vindictus: Defying Fate is, let me put your minds at ease: This is not not a Gacha game. This is not a cross-platform game. And most importantly: This is not a mobile game. This is a PC game that is launching on Steam, with a Pre-Alpha test actually beginning on March 13th, running through March 18th according to their FAQ.

When Vindictus 1 came out on the Source engine, it was a blast back in that time. Damn I was amazed by the graphics. Lets see what Vindictus 2 will all be like.

dont do this to me stix please ... dont put vindictus ost on your video i am 1 min into the video and tears are about to fall cause they butchered my game i still have nostalgia of my high school years waiting for my school to end so i can grind vindictus season 1 and 2 . the people i met are still engraved into my memory . lann gameplay was the most fascinating thing that i experienced in any video game.

I mean, nowadays I feel like there are quite a few "MMOs" that could be decent singleplayer games... but are instead MMOs, just to be doomed and closed shortly after.
So if Vindictus 2 is a Singlerplayer game with the option to play multiplayer, I welcome that.

@@richardkim3652 Not really. FF14 is just a standart MMO, which allows you to do most of the stuff as Single Player, but it's not a Single Player Game.
If FF14 would drop players like crazy it would just die eventually. But since it's so successful, that's not the case.
@@GZCoo Idk to me FF14 feels like a single player game since it's story based and now you can even do dungeons and some raids with npc from the story until you hit the very late endgame.
@@richardkim3652You must be new to FFXIV. All the stuff you're experiencing now in FFXIV is new and recently added stuff. FFXIV is very strict on cooperation and team work with real players, but the reason they added the ability to play alone was because their numbers were dropping drastically for players who did not enjoy the game due to the extremely tedious force play of partying. So Square Enix slowly started implementing single player play in Shadowbringers to see how it runs, and from my guess, it was a hit and successful, so they started adding more and more and more and eventually announced that they'll add single player play to just about every past expansion.
Vindcitus is probably the game i've played the most in my life and this is very strange to see how they kept the signature amors for the characters and the combat animations and skills are exactly the same but refined.
I wasn't able to get into any other online rpg after I played so much of Vindictus season 1 back in 2010. No other games have better combat experience.

It's not an MMORPG at all though. It's single player, says so on the steam page.

Yeah I don’t think that’ll go well, in regards to the game’s longevity. Although I may be biased because I really hate hub-style MMOs.
I am absolutely hyped for this game! The new Samurai character Sou just came out recently in Vindictus NA and it's made me jump back into the game after sooo many years gone. I forgot how much fun the game was and then I see the trailer for the new game and I am shock!!

I remember playing vindictus when i was like 12 years old i was fucking mesmerized with the combat mechanics, i terribly want to know what will Vindictus 2 will look like
Tried the testing yesterday and love it so much. Been playing the original Vindictus for almost 15 years since the beginning. Maxed out the graphics and i was blown away by how really close it looks to the cinematic trailer. Everything looks more alive and has realistic physics. Love the hair and fur movements.
Vindictus was an amazing game and did everything in gameplay that every other action mmo at the time couldn't, the only thing that ruined it was the companys that published it.
Just say Nexon and stop beating around the bush

Well its not Vindictus 2 but yea easier to call it that I guess.
Played the first game for ~7 years or so, both the NA and EU version when they were separate.
Loved that game, it was my longest/most played 'MMO' so this is something I'm very interested in and nowadays I prefer single player games anyway.
I used to play Vindictus and Dragon Nest together with my brother, we still sometimes talk about our Dragon Nest adventures. Hopefully this game will be as much fun so we can play together again
dragon nest was the best 1vs1 pvp experience i ever had in a game i was so addicted to it was doing pvp 24/7 still missing it.

Lets just hope that there are sexy armors in game and some of them can be earned from the game like events or crafting.
Also Raids i believe had a max player of 8 or 12 im not sure, just remember the Spider raid was nuts in season 1.
If anything in the trailer was actual gameplay it looked far too good to be "pre-alpha". Because good it looked.
I was interested in Vindictus but unfortunately it doesn't have a server for where I am. Curious about this one though...
one of my issues with the First Vindictus was how Dodging Felt very Buggy, Half the time i would Dodge the Attack but still get hit by it for some reason even tho the Model did not hit me. Other times it would Work Correctly XD Honestly highly Anticipating this game.
The combat is actual combat.
The move sets depicted are 95% similar to the actual combat moves in the live Vindictus

Vindictus was really ahead of its time back in the days, it was basically one of the first soulslike that feels like current AAA titles (except graphics). Definitely excited for this godlike game to be back, just please for the love of god don't give it to nexon.
But there are a lot of games these days so not sure if it'll redefine the genre.
From what I saw from that trailer the little snippet of what appears to be gameplay doesn't quite match with their words about it being intense or a "dance" tbh.
It mostly looks like the current vindictus combat where you hit a combo string, enemy stands and takes it without reacting until his next animation to attack. if they want the intense clash of blades that they were looking for, they would need to focus the combat being entirely dodge, counter, and parry focus and essentially turning the gameplay into a rhythm game and basically force the player to get into that zone of pure focus. Think For Honor combat for example.
This is alpha footage so they're still looking at player reception and feedback along with a full year of refinement before a test release that goes to beta. However, I am unsure it's going to be anything new when it gets passed the refinement stage. I'd be keeping my expectations low.

One of my friend invited to play Vindictus with him via proxy, since it wasn't available for europe at that time. I didn't understand much when i started but it was an awsome different experience compared to other mmos. So i'm curious about this game.

Vindictus was somewhat like "Dark Souls, the cooperative online game". I expect that Vindictus 2 will be similar.
I really enjoyed Vindictus. It was a game that you could play without paying a ton of money needlessly.

I love that the trailer showed my favourite class (Fiona) and my favourite armour set. I forget what it's called, though. It's been a minute since I played it. I loved Vindictus back in the day. It looked very good for it's time (2010?) and the combat was very fun. I think the trailer is plausible. I expect Nexon to Nexon it up, but I am cautiously optimistic. It could be great, if it's like Nexon's open world Vindictus.

Dodging is about the only way I play defense, basically due to playing every version of Monster Hunter, and it helped in Elden Rings and other games. In games requiring blocking and parrying, I am screwed.
Are they finally creating a 99 Nights same type of game?

Edit: We See both Lann and Fiona doing the same motions, in both their trailers, on the more "cinematic" parts of the trailers, So I think that is an ingame cinematic.

I absolutely loved Vindictus, it's like the predecessor of Black Desert in many ways. But over time worse management dragged it down. So consider me cautiously optimistic.
i love vindictus combat style hope they keep that. If yes i will play it no doubt.

Vindictus ORIGINAL Combate is, to this date, the best I ever experienced.
I dont like how fast and spammy it became over the years, but looks like they are going back to the roots.

Vindictus/mabinogi 2 has been a pebble in my shoe, if you will, I'm still pissed that nexon decided to.region block it... I guess I will never get to play it, but at least I should be able to play this one.
As for the trailer, everything but the close-ups looked like real gameplay, especially the bit on the bridge!

That armour set on Lann, I remember the pain of grinding that set out, still pisses me off to this day. PvP isn't really my thing so I'm in favour of full PvE, but I know that that might not be the majority opinion

Unparalleled sense of challenge. See I was looking forward to playing this until I heard that specific part because it sounds like it's gonna be souls like. I might still try it out because it does look pretty dam good.
well, tbh, the OG vindictus had a pretty challenging learning curve, and there was, and possibly to this day, is nothing that rivals its action combat. so i imagine theyre probably just retuning the combat for more modern systems.

bro i played vindictus when they only had the first 3 or 4 characters i loved this game when i was a kid i played it a lot when i was younger then off and on as i grew up im 28 now and started playing around 14 or 15 and threw out the time playing it vindictus there were times when there was almost no one playing it to the point to when it was pretty much dead so vindictus getting a another game was the last thing i expected and im so excited for it now lets hope they dont try and censor it for global release cause the game was not shy about showing ample boobage lol
I think we can all agree people want open world mmo, not some linear instanced based mmo that you literally grind the same thing over and over and over until you get bored to death. We want something that we can go on an exploration journey and check out new things along the way, and less of that cutscene crap and microtransactions.
Getting those high quality outfits can be challenging... to your wallet.
The first was a well done game with some good and bad things, here is hoping they learned some and make this even better
I played the playtest, unfortunately I'm not a fan of the direction. This game is trying to turn it's spectacle fighter, hack and slash type of gameplay from the old one into a more methodical soulslike experience with a a focus on more action style gameplay. the former is much more fast paced while the latter is much slower paced, and for a game like Vindictus, I prefer fast paced. That being said, for people who love soulslike games or like the adoption of it in more recent games, this game is definitely worth a try because from this perspective, it's pretty solid.
I wonder if they will have ip block like the first game.

The first Vindictus was a hub MORPG (not an MMO). If they make V2 more single player, with co-op capabilities, and possibly with a more open world design, that is exactly what I want.

The character looks a lot like sophitias design from soul calibur. Looks pretty sweet! Hopefully that can all translate into gameplay and exploration

I wouldn't say MMO's aren't worth it for these companies anymore, if anything we've all been waiting for the next really good MMO to come out for years now. It's only not worth it for the companies because they keep trying to cheap out on everything that matters and only put effort into the cash shop. That or making a "PC MMO" that's not really a PC mmo but a straight up mobile game ported to PC. If any of these companies actually focused on making the best MMO possible, they'd rake in piles of money for years, but they don't because the suits rather make a quick buck now than a fortune over a decade.

I don't even care about any game that doesn't have a shared persistent world. That's the hard line feature of an mmorpg, and i don't play any other online games except rts.
Ffxi is best mmo since it came out still is to this day plus free horizon server is so good
