22 minutes into the video and this is the worst gameplay I’ve ever seen. I’m scarred, just seeing zealots running by doing nothing, nexuses just being there and then it all loops.
I've come back to watch this replay 3 or 4 times. The range of emotions this makes me feel.... and then the meditation..... very cathartic.
If you guys are wondering before hand, it was in fact worth the 45mins

Just a friggin cannon in every base would have helped win this, his opponent was even worse. Two bases for over 40 min, really!? And he kept dropping that small army, instead of switching to lib harass, tank push, tac jump some BCs or whatever. Anything would be better than this.

I changed the select all army f2 to f12
To use it only in extreme cases.
@@yasedky lol, i did exactly the same thing, f12 too! Finally started using 3 control groups in game + prism and leaving some stalkers on main and ht on expands to def drops thanks to that.

Very kind of Reynor to let Harstem guest star on his show for a second time now.
Well, we all know, that Reynor just didn't want to watch this kind of low-lever replays. So he outsourced it to amateur content creator Harstem. Probably even for free, since that Harstem kid would do anything to work for such a professional content creator as Reynor.
Back ın 2012 it took me 30 games to go from bronze to silver on european servers. Not one opponent was complicit. Everyone was playing at top shape. Everyone rushed, Everyone had perfect creep spread, I just gave up at that point after 30 games to go up a single rank with sweat and blood. Now I watch NA gold match and it makes me want to play this game again.
Does anyone else get the feeling that the person who sent in the replay was playing BOTH races? The game goes so slowly, and so little happens, that they could almost be the same person alt+tabbing back and forth between SCII windows

Harstem would have had a way to verify that this wasn't some elaborate troll, via the replay tools that he uses by checking player actions, so this can't be it.
It could be that this game was between two friends who "arranged" certain developments and outcomes.
It could also be that the Protoss intentionally played horribly so that he could get his point across.
It could also be that Harstem knew perfectly well that this game was going to be a complete disaster, but decided to show it anyway, as it would have been good humor as well as a good exercise in rage & meditation. PLUS the IODIS rubric was in somewhat of a drought recently, so he compensated for that with a really, really long video to sate the audience's thirst for it.
Yeah actually at 32:40 where he shot his own templar, it really does look like he is controlling both sides. That just makes no sense otherwise :D

and btw pretty sure you can see the player's control groups on the defauly replay UI. It would be cool to actually see the guy's actions, what he selects, and whether or not he ever used a control group.

Well, like he said "I built stalkers"... I guess, when his friends told him to build stalkers they didn't specify how many.
? That is actually normal for professional play. Blink is the safest opener to counter all forms of harass and give map control. You do not want to build many Stalkers after the early game, maybe later if you transition into Stalker/Disruptor.
The true joy isn't watching the Protoss get punching bagged by the Terran (although that is delightful too.) It's watching Harstem's Sanity Meter enduring similar devastating blows. Peak might be at 24:49 "Ok! I still have 18 workers, my priority is to split them to-" ::probe explodes in a 1shot volley to the Siege Tank left behind to guard the minerals:: ::Harstem's face looks visually hurt like he got punched right in the kidney.:: You can almost see Harstem thinking "Well, there's a second probe coming, I can at least hope against hope that he'll pull it back so it, too, doesn't explode in 1 shot during this critical worker situation." BOOM 2. 😣

Most new players get placed in Gold after only 5 matches. He will likely de-rank after that. Bronze to Plat is pretty much the same.
got recommended this vid from 2 years ago, at first i noticed the contrast in quality compared to his recent vids and thought it'd be a weak and long vid, but the vid gets progressively better as Harstem slowly starts to get insane at the "sad" level of gameplay he's witnessing.

I had intense moments of hysterical laughter. I consider myself a pretty poor pvp player. I'm more of an achievement hunter. I've learned build orders and abused AI, performing outmatched AI crushers and every campaign achievement, and can execute brutal co op with random strangers with better knowledge and control than Harstem has shown of late with Dehaka and upatree. Still, I hit platinum back in late liberty, early heart of the swarm days, and would figure I'm a solid silver by today's merits- but I KNOW I would be able to play a better protoss or terran than that. I rarely scout, my creep spread is so so, i never inject past 5 minutes into the game, and build macro hatcheries instead, and have an average apm of 40-50, and I would love the chance to play a serious game against either of those two players to show I would win it. please comment back with some kind of discord or battletag id so we can communicate and setup a garbage league game of our own that hopefully harstem would comment about.

I guess the making lots of workers thing can get you somewhere. In Silver/Bronze he probably faced people who just had less workers than him and didn't scan vs DTs and such. It's painful to watch someone make so many Probes and nearly no army though.
Its the North America server, it’s like 4 ranks lower then in eu
@@qwatschel3353 If you actually try it it's much closer than that, more like 1 rank. When I was Master 2 on NA I attempted EU to see how much harder it was at got to Master 3. Maybe I could have gotten to 2, but probably not at the time, I just hit Master 3 and stopped.
