I kinda love how the two guys a couple of years back Sal was kinda like "not my cup of tea", is now his favorite guests (King and Chip)
I still think he dislikes King’s Batman but he likes his other stuff
Yeah he's always liked his Miracle and Vision so maybe people think he dislike him is because batman media tends to overshadow damn near everything else in comics
Sal has always liked vision and Mr miracle. But recent years have increased stuff he loves than he doesn't and built and amazing rapport with King. and u can see the change in how he talks about in off the rack etc.
He's an awesome person to hang out with, but not the best writer

Aside From Batman and Heroes in crisis, this man has written some great comics.
People have their own taste and opinions and I think Tom gets when people say they like some and hate some of his runs.

43:50 If anyone's curious, the extra panels in Kingdom Come that Sal's referring to come from Geoff John's JSA run where Kingdom Come Superman gets stranded on new earth and joins the JSA for a bit. I believe the story is called Thy Kingdom Come.

So what I am hearing here, is buy the new Tom King Supergirl book. To late, based Sal's recommendation I already pre-ordered the sucker. This is just delightful and entertaining conversation for a book I already am getting.

As a little PSA the Kingdom Come ending Sal references is from the end of Geoff Johns's Justice Society story where he brought in Kingdom Come Superman and did a whole mini sequel/sidequel. Its pretty fun, and has gorgeous Alex Ross covers with little bits of interiors peppered in.

I just saw the preview released by DC for Supergirl. Holy shit do I love this art - this looks fun and lighthearted and I cannot wait to read this. Honestly it kinda reminds me in tone to that recent Jimmy Olson series (I hope so - I would love to see Tom King have some fun on a book) damn Tom is there any chance that you might include some Amethyst anywhere anytime soon? Plus c’mon we need to see Tom Kings Ambush Bug! I am feeling like a total D list DC character fan today.....pssst Tom remember Shockwave from Blue Devil #2? Hell yeah

The pages Sal was referencing are from the end of Thy Kingdom Come with that ending which was from Johns’ JSA run. It’s not a great story, but those ending pages are amazing. They are not in the Absolute Kingdom Come edition I own, but I wish they were.

As much as I don’t like Tom king writing as of late I will admit he does seem like a nice guy to talk too.
