Brought a Yellowfin 5800 folding hard top back when the new model came out in 2019, Had a few teething problems but Riverina Marine and Yellowfin have fixed all of them with no drama and fuss and have bent over backwards to help me where they can, have done alot of game fishing out the shelf with it love the ride and stability Highly Recommended

I have a 6500 HT on order to be delivered in October. What would have helped me prior to putting the deposit down would have been to see some more videos of it. Most of the videos on CZcams is mainly of older vessels! Can't wait for the boat!

What a great overview of the process! One question though. Around the 4:01 mark we can see that the bottom supports are not touching or welded to the sides above the chine. Why is this? Thank you!

Why are stringers only space welded?

5:43 The fact this guy finds it "Amazing" that the hull hasn't cracked after just 350 hours is not the big selling point he thinks it is.

That's not our kind of boat. You're probably best looking at some of the smaller aluminium boat builders.

I'm a boat builder from Perth Western Australia. Strip frame boats like these fatigue/flex alot more than full frame boats. The frames always crack, mainly around the fuel tank mounts.

The welding is no where near as good as the plate boats from new Zealand ... I didn't buy a Yellowfin because of this.

In the part of the video where the guy was talking about the 350 hours and they had a close up of the bilge/keel, I thought the same... Def not "stack-o-dimes". That said the fact that they use the slotted keel and weld both sides I believe would make a way sturdier boat than a flat bar with one weld to a large sheet. If you missed the super keel it was in the beginning of the video 1:38, also I think he was implying that the chine rail 2:49 (edge of the boat) was a channel configuration as well. I am not an engineer, but the channel with weld on both sides seems to me to be a way better way to build and his explanation of the reinforcemnt clearly shows they care about a solid build.

Typical YF junk. Boat construction isn't stuck in the 80s. Your blokes can't even explain concisely construction methods or engineering terminology. "It just held up" really inspires confidence in the customers when the manager can't even believe it hasn't cracked its welds yet.
