Queen is 100 % an influence of this band, they've mentioned it before in older interviews.

Yeah you can hear other bands influences very clear in a lot of their stuff. Queen, U2, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Prince, Rage against the machine and many more.

You've only scratched a tiny surface my man, there are so many areas to explore with this band from all their albums. There are so many sick songs and masterpieces. Looking forward to more reactions in the future.
Here are some songs for future Muse reactions:
    Killed Or Be Killed
    Big Freeze
    Dead Inside
    Easily
    The Globalist ( 10 minute song )
    Wont Stand Down
Liberation ( You thought this song had Queen in it? Wait until you hear this one )
Butterflies and Hurricanes ( Alternative version )
    City Of Delusion
    Eternally Missed.
I'll leave it right there for now so the list does not get too long.
    All the best!

Yep. I've definitely seen Queen mentioned among the band's influences. Radiohead often pops up in articles about the trio as well.
In terms of their sound, there's much variety to be found in Muse's catalog, so it's best to expect the unexpected!

Muse has so many great songs.
Here’s the top three I think you should listen too.
    1. Citizen erased
    2. Muscle museum
    3. Won’t stand down
Also may I suggest to react to live performances, they are hands down the best live band out there.

My brother told me that the concept behind these guys is that every album takes on a theme of a slightly different musical style or bands that have influenced them, hence the name "Muse."

    I love this song.
I worked a show of Muse's where I had heard backstage they were having trouble locating the correct (something or other; some kind of input I guess) for protools, which was necessary for them to play Madness. Like, backstage scrambling everywhere looking for this. They were saying they just may have to skip the song altogether. I was starting to be bummed when it began after about a 5 minute break between songs. Although it was muffled to me (backstage), I almost cried.
Though being the pro that I am, I had to miss hearing the song proper from in front of the speakers but that song, damn it's so good.
    Now, I can cry :-)

Muse are primarily a rock band, but they have classical and electronic elements. They're known for doing lots of genres, from pop to blues, metal or R&B, although rock is always at the core.
Madness is off their sixth album, The 2nd Law, where they went full electronic and experimental. It's not really representative of their sound. You should check out Hysteria, Plug in baby, Citizen Erased, Supermassive Black Hole, Knights of Cydonia, Reapers, Kill or be killed... And always live versions!

Can I suggest listening/watching a live video, maybe something from the Rome Olympic Stadium show which has a number of options on YT. Their music is varied but it is all brilliant and goes down amazingly with their astonishing stage sets designed to present to the 10s of thousands that attend each of their shows.

I'm confident all musers here will give you kick ass recommendations, and Yes we all know They soun better love, however, exploring studio versions have a touch to it because is how Matt originally wanted the songs to sound (not in all cases).
My recommendation Dead Inside, New Born and Citizen Erased

I just discovered Muse a couple weeks ago due to discovering The Warning band Dec. 2023. Several things got me interested in Muse, but foremost was Matt from Muse gifting Dany of The Warning a Manson guitar. Additionally, The Warning are big fans of Muse and have opened many shows for Muse. Finally, I saw The Warning’s cover of Muse’s Hysteria (age 10, 13, 15) and Resistance (age 9, 12, 14). I love both bands but the harmonization of the 3 sisters as well as The Warnings drummer sometimes singing lead gives a slight edge to The Warning for me. However, in the 70’s, I preferred progressive rock making Muse more closely aligned with my historic preferences.

Hi Harri. Thanks for the Muse reactions. Try 'Map of the Problematique', 'Hysteria' and 'Butterflies and Hurricanes'. I don't hear Queen at all in any Muse recordings I've heard. Cheers✌

yes, I actually don't like madness at all when I first heard it on the album, because it sounded lack instrument , I just skipped it before it get to the last part...but after I heard it live once I was blown away, and I listened to it more and more and became one of my favourite songs, although this song sounds lack of instruments when first listen probably, after I listen to it more times, when my mind would not focus on the melody so much(beatiful melody, when first listen I thought no instrument is a waste of melody...), I finally notice it actually has many layers, the volume is low doesn't mean it doesn't exist, and I can feel the restrained madness, finally burst out, but no one cares(the vocals burst out, but the instrumental still sounds calm), very relatable...

Madness doesn't seem like a great Muse song, at first. I remember when it came out that it rustled feathers on first listening because it felt like Muse was doing some significantly downgraded version of their usual gems. But the more you listened, the more you understood how amazing that song actually was. There's a kind of meditative, dressed-down, drone-like quality for much of the song, which sets up the sense of passing time. Compare Inception "Time" by Hans Zimmer, or Interstellar theme by the same. They both exhibit this sort of simple temporal signal as if serving as a background character, constantly reminding them of their mortality and mission, quietly accompanying the characters through their journey. "Madness" has this same quality and it allows for this major catharsis later in the song. This is especially true when you watch the music video. Civilization has been crumbling around them their entire lives, and he's been focused on fighting that, or fighting for that, depending on how you want to define things.
But he finally understands his focus has to be on Love.
I think it's very powerful, emotionally.

But unlike lost people i value a lead singer who can actually sing and the rolling stones dont have that 😂

Hey Harri, would you have time to react to a forgotten band with 3 guys. The group is Morphine and the song is Supersex. Drums 1 snare drum, 1 hi hat, 1 alt sax, 1 baritone sax, one base, 1 bottleneck, 1 voice. I hope you like it. Renee Jeee
