One of the best things about Joe on the channel was the nerds’ different perspectives, opinions, playstyles, and evaluations on cards. Still a huge NN fan but I would love to see some debate/difference of opinions between Beezy and Mia! Keep up the good work 👍🏻
This is very relatable. Joe always had something to add because of the way he plays and approaches EDH, whereas I feel like Mia oftentimes just repeats what Beezy said
what happened to Joe?
@@fjaychou he left the channel and created his own. There is a video on this channel where he explains why
I dunno, only if the disagreement is worth it. I'm personally glad that I don't have to watch Joe awkwardly and rudely disagree with Beezy on a non-point just for the sake of disagreeing. Someone mentioned they think Mia just repeats what Beezy says and I think that disregards what she brings to the show.
@@Gobbledi_Gook they were not really arguing that much, but Joe just introduced another perspective to the channel
As a commander player I love how mono colour decks are getting some love with cards like Archdruids charm and Reenact the crime which would only really be playable with a mono colour mana base. As it actually gives the decks some unique viable cards that would not be viable in any other multicolour deck.
I play archdruid’s charm in all my multicolored green decks and never had a problem paying for it. It’s the new auto- include for anything with green and big creatures imo
@@vexhia6792agreed. I think for multi color decks, green is probably the easier color to be able to pay multiple pips for. In 5c for example, I think triple green is easier to cast than triple blue.
Video idea: revist a set 1 year later and see if your top X cards have held up, or see how the list has changed
Trouble in Pairs draw abilities are almost verbatim Mangara (minus your planeswalkers getting attacked), so we probably also have decent data there. Double spelling is pretty common by T4+ I imagine between the two this will draw you ~1 card per rotation and the ceiling is higher b/c an opponent may double spell and cast a draw spell same turn etc. I think this scales with higher power well.
Also much more survivable than Mangara.
When I pulled pick your poison from a booster today, I stared at it for a few minutes lol
Forensic Gadgeteer also reduces equip costs! Smart not to let it reduce from 1 to 0 b/c otherwise people would be out there Skullclamping their whole board of dorks for zero mana.
Pick your poison is pretty insane for a 1 mana common and also surprised the white creature that double triggers of power 2 or less is not on this list.
Seeing all the great red cards on this list really feels good. Makes my decision to build mono-red when I get home seem like a good idea.
My girlfriend loves saying “Slay!” So seeing it in the background was super cute! Didn’t expect it and it was a pleasant surprise! Keep slaying Nitpicking Nerds!
Slay!
my brother in christ you have posted cringe
Putting unexplained absence into any deck that cares about the top card of libraries is just insane. If you know the top card of everyone else's library you can make sure they don't flip anything good unlike chaos warp, and if you know the top card of yours it basically lets you draw a card. absolutely bananas
In a board based deck, connecting the dots sounds like it's absolutely bananas. I cannot wait to place it in a krenko deck so I can exile it in its' entirety and lose the game instantly by attacking with as many goblins as I can.
Insidious Roots is everything my Tayam, Luminous Enigma deck wants in life
I’m surprised Warleader’s Call wasn’t mentioned. Another impact tremors and anthem? Yes please
Aftermath Analyst is amazing for Geeensleeves Maro-Sorcerer . Use sack lands for badgers. Return them from the graveyard for badgers. Sac them again for even more badgers.
I have an Ashnod's (grixis) artifact build that revolves around doubling activated abilities of artifacts. Forensic Gadgeteer reads 'play a spell, get an artifact trigger and pay 1 to draw two cards'
In my Opinion, Krenko's Buzzcrusher needs to be on this list. Non-basic land hate has become as important to me as graveyard hate
We actually pulled the Archdruids charm in our pre release box with the 2024 stamp on it, half the people at the LGS tried to buy it right there. Went into our mono green elf deck.
Forensic gageteer and Urza basically reads every artifact spell you cast draw a card
Definitely picking up an Archdruid’s Charm, that thing is sick
x5
Insidious roots is going into my Dina, soul steeper deck. Sac a token, ping life. Create another token. Both tap for mana. Incredible.
Aftermath analyst will be a banger in the standard Squirming emergence deck
I like Aurelia, The Law Above. Jetsam is pretty strong. Forensic Gadgeteer is good. Pick Your Poison is crazy! I also like Archdruid's Charm which is another very good card. I'm not a fan of the lands that come into play tapped. Thank you Mia and Beezy for the video.
I miss all the set reviews, grading all cards, ranking all commanders, you know, all the stuff that made the channel...
I am so excited for the surveil lands
I think another top tier card from this set is Analyze the Pollen. Early game fixing and late game is basically a demonic tutor for 1 mana for creatures. Im looking forward to seeing if it meets my hype expectations
Sleeper pick. Excellent card. Basically a MDFC tutor. Going in most of my green decks. I already play cards like Bushwhack and Thirsting Roots as pseudo-MDFCs and this card is much better.
I'm thinking putting archdruids charm in my jund deck
Happy to have insidious roots for Hapatra :) like this more than jaheira
I must be missing the hype behind Archdruid's charm. Its an instant speed worldly tutor for +2 mana, a rampant growth that finds any land for +1 mana, a naturalize that exiles for +1 mana, and a card I know exists in green somewhere for +1 mana (i don't remember the name). Literally every mode is more expensive and not only that but not every deck wants all modes. I could see it in standard or pioneer as a way to exile targets, but the other modes are just awful.
Add to that the fact that with ramp you want to hit your breakpoints, so losing efficiency just isn't an option.
All of the modes are good the 1st and 3rd are always online. It's important in EDH, especially in CEDH, that your cards can handle multiple things. You can find your combo pieces with it and it's actually very rare that you can search up non-basic lands especially at instant speed. The ability to go "eot find gaea's cradle" then win the game off that is obscene. It also has the utility of being a silverbullet against the three most common threats in edh.
It's the versatility of it. All of the effects suck for the cost, but this card is just never a blank like all of its counterparts.
With Inti, Senitel of the Sun, and Leili, The Blade Reforged as some of the best representation of what it means to be a red magic card especially in commander I can safely say Connecting the Dots is great design.
Would you believe it synergizes with Prosper, Tomebound??
pick your poison seems cedh playable to dunk on 3 mana rocks. archdruid's charm though i completely didn't see was an instant, green and red got a lot of fun stuff this set.
Cedh doesn't play 3 mana rocks, even 2 mana rocks are pushing it.
A cool detail with Anzrag's Rampage is that it only destroys your opponents' artifacts, thereby protecting your Sol Ring and Signets, but the X value for digging into your deck is NOT how many opponent artifacts you destroyed with this spell. Rather, it's the total "number of artifacts that have been put into graveyards this turn." So if you sac 5 treasures to pay this card's mana cost, you're digging 5 deeper looking for your mega-bomb creatures. That's a nice way to have your cake and eat it to with the destroy/dig X combo.
So many great pulls in the uncommon slots
I mean, Forensic Gadgeteer seems made for Breya. She’s an artifact commander that also wants access to more artifacts and hey, she just happens to have an activated ability that costs 2 colorless. It seems unbelievably good for her.
Ya seems great there. I’ll be putting it in my tivit, seller of secrets deck since he can make so many clues
Easy infinite colourless mana with basalt monolith!
Simic+ Spellslinger should love Pick Your Poison.
forensic gadgateer makes lithoform engine just a little crazy
Insidious Roots is excellent in Tormod and Kamahl
Red does need card draw. If there never going to reprint wheel of fortune, it's the least they can do.
Do you not know how to use world shaper beezy, it does its thing just fine if you know how to use it.
Hey!!! Im Peter Mullins🎉🎉🎉. Gotta support the Nerds!!!
Thank you for the support! 💖💖💖
Flotsam/Jetsam is perfect for Sidisi
Insidious roots: Tormod the Desecrator
Trouble in pairs could technically draw you 9 cards per turn since it counts per opponent. It will never do that but it can
the most is 7 cause only 1 player can attack. but that’s still an extremely high ceiling for a white card
@@roflsnpwncakes you're right
A commander to play Aftermath Analyst in: Sidisi, Blood Tyrant
Just pour Wite-Out on Flotsam and jam it in your Dimir decks. I won't tell.
Sonic X Shadow coming up has got to feel good for the NN household.
Forensic gadgeteer goes infinite with basalt monolith
Forensic engineer will go infinite with Basalt Monolith, and make Rings of Brighthearth even more problematic...
Thanks, These videos really help me to not buy a whole box hahahahaha. Spoiler I might buy a box anyway
Woot woot 🙌
Reenact the crime is great in draw-go
Green suns zenith: reusable, basically costs 1 mana
Ran into you both at a local store last night and was shocked. I’m used to seeing you on my phone, and was not aware of how tall you are!
It was nice to meet you! Sorry we were in a rush, we just went to grab Amber and Miso some food and litter!
@@NitpickingNerds no worries at all! I didn’t want to bother you, I was also just there for my cat not expecting to see famous CZcamsrs that I assumed lived nowhere near me haha
Woot!
Nothing for mono black. ☹️
I screenshot so many cards.
16:24
"He/Hiss" I'm losing my mind
Gadgeteer goes infinite with basalt manalith
No Delney on this list doesn't make sense to me...
That isn't Amber!! Imposter to the throne
#TeamAmber
On rampage:
One down Side IT has over vandal blast is that it Hits all artifacts. Vandal blast only Kills your opponents have. I think it would be intersting for my Hans deck but i dont Like wipes to mutch and ITS also Not a creature.
Rampage destroys all artifacts your opponents control
Wow, I just built ashnod the uncaring, and so many of these cards fit great. Forensic gadgeteer decreases the cost of many of the artifacts that self sacrifice, and makes tokens that double from ashnod
**Do not follow Mia's advice on Anztag's rage with sensei's top, you will lose the top.
Mia was talking about activating to see the top cards to know if there’s a nice creature on top
pick your poison??? reads like crap to me.... Hope to be wrong ^^ ... the Charm though, now we're talking!!!!
I can’t watch this channel strictly because of you constantly petting a cat like dr evil
Idk man, considering the things that werent mentioned, this lists seems... uhm weird.
I love y’all but how do you hate on deep gnome so much when you literally worship fetch lands? Unless I’m misunderstanding and you’re just saying that deep gnome is good, but not busted?
