Missed one of the strongest interactions with the new Ghalta. If you hold priority with the ETB trigger on the stack, you can sac it to something like Greater Good or Momentous Fall to draw a bunch of cards then dump all your creatures.

@@mrtekbunnyit definitely is so strong in Miirym…but I just don’t want to put it in that deck, with so many flicker/panharmonicon effects already, it really doesn’t need it. Great card but it’s a little unexciting. It’s also not a dragon 🤣🤦🏻♀️
@@Sami-rw8cs But it enters the battlefield as a creature of the chosen type so it kinda is a dragon for all intents and purposes.
But yeah, it's almost boring busted like Ojer. Wizards be getting lazy.
@@Sami-rw8cs It's a dragon when it enters, so you get 2 of them with Miirym out. It's literally the best panharmonicon-type card you could put in the deck.
Top 3 prediction: 1. The One Ring 2. Orcish Bow Masters 3. Lorien Revealed
Edit: dang, 2/3 isn’t bad. Halfling is good, no doubt, (and doesn’t die to OBM, lol) but I’m surprised Beezy isn’t higher on Lorien Revealed for as much as he loves MDFCs. It’s in all my blue decks now!
All of my top 3/4 guesses were LOTR cards, although with Borne Upon a Wind instead of Lorien Revealed. It was a really really good set
As much as I loved all the cool cards from Doctor Who and Lord of the Rings, 2023 was not a good year for Goblins. Us Mono-Red Krenko players spent the year wandering the desert looking for the one scrap of food that keeps us viable.
2024 is the Year of the Krenko, Mob Boss. He's getting a reprint with cool art!
At least we got Assault on Osgiliath. Double strike to your whole board is no joke at three red
Sardian Avenger and the new Breeches, Eager Pillager both seem pretty decent includes in my Krenko deck.

I only made a mono-red Krenko because of the cards this year. Sting, the Glinting Dagger is INCREDIBLE in Krenko. I was making 3000 gobos a turn cycle some games. But they also gave us Reckless Handling as another red tutor to go find Sting.
I also like Song of Totentanz as a cheap haste enabler, Gleeful Demolition as removal or to get goblin mass up quickly after a wipe, and I like Isengard Unleashed as a way to make those big attacks more lethal to even the blockers.
There's some cool tools out there, and you could always just jam a One Ring in too!
Moria marauders is good, sardian avenger wrecks treasures, and redcap gutter-dweller is a fun goblin. Goblins already have sooooooo many playables. I think one year off is OK for them.
Shout Out for Filter Out- one of the all stars of my Kykar Eggs deck, since that deck wins by making token creatures off recasting free Eggs. It let's me recast a bunch of eggs, draw a bunch of cards, and keep the tokens I make off them.

Hoarding Broodlord plus Dream Devourer makes it so all of your spells can be foretold and then on following turns, casted using convoke. Been trying to build a deck around this for a while, might be best in the 99 of Prosh
Can we get a "Most fun cards of 2023" list aswell? Alot of cards on this list is almost too powerfull to put in decks. My vote goes to Dance with Calamity.

Breach the Multiverse fits in thematically with the Faerie Wilds of Eldraine pre-con. It is amazing in any black deck, but the Faerie deck in particular already has that tricksy theme to it. I've even slotted in Opposition Agent into mine for the same reason.

Walking throne needs to be top 5 without a doubt. This cards is so busted, its not even funny. In tribal decks that have any kind of triggers its straight out the best cards in the deck and its not even close.
Just for example. Clavileno, the new vampire commander, gives 2 counters per attack, every dying vampire with a counter creates two 4/3s and draws two cards and dont even get me started on Merfolk and Explore triggers ...
But not only tribal decks. Prosper Tomebound. Impulsedraw two each turn and get two treasures off of every card you play from exile. I also play it in Sauron the Dark Lord. Want to target him? Have fun sacing two legendarys. Ring tempts you? Draw 8 cards. Enemy casts spell? Get two armies to sac. Oh and dealing damage with an army? The ring now temps you twice and draws you 16 cards!
Straight out broken in kindred, still autoinclude in any deck that has a commander with a triggered ability that generantes value.
Whoever thinks differently, hasnt played this card yet.
It's funny that they admit they havent tested the card yet. Like play some games lol. But yeah. Its definitely lived up to the hype. I have it in almost every deck I run now and managed to get it out in a non tribal deck and whoooo weee we were having fun. Lmao two people tried to swords it right away but forgot about the ward giggle.

I don't know if I'd say "break" them, but makes me consider including them in decks with the Tortoise. I've always wanted Wizards to finish the cycle, as I started playing in Odyssey.

Roaming throne is great if your deck has a bunch of triggered from the same kindred and if your commander has ward (ward is a triggered ability) it also doubles it!
For example, I have roaming throne in my ghyrson starn spellslinger deck, why? Ghyrson has ward 2 and is a human, just as a lot of human pingers who trigger when casting instant sorceries or noncreatures, so it fits right in even though the deck is not a kindred deck
I thought I was going crazy when I was telling everyone how good etali was and most of my friends were meh…it’s too expensive at 7 mana. I bought a couple play sets for a 8-10 bucks each just because I figured it was probably nuts in the 99 of any deck with those colors and some synergy like henzie, Faldorn etc.
I think the hated coin version is a lot less or at least it was when the set dropped.

Like, Craterhoof can be Natural Ordered out or even hard cast or searched up with Chord of Calling… because green produces ALL of the mana. I can tap one creature for eight mana in green. Who’s casting an eight-mana WWW creature?

Hoarding Broodlord is a fun card to get for free in my Muldrotha/Gyruda deck thanks to Gyruda’s reanimation ability 😅
Im going to echo a lot of comments on here, but Roaming Throne is way underrated. Top five for sure.
Also, at least on my personal list, i got to throw on City on fire and All will be one. Two of my favorites of the year,
Use mycrosynth garden in the eldeazi precon. Had it come in as a copy of helm of host and had helm on two big guys instead of one
Mnt doom in rakdos demons is a god send! Def get your 3 mana back!
Beseech is my favorite Ring fetcher.
1738 new black-bordered cards this year and none of them made significant progress towards helping red not be the worst color in commander

I didn’t know if Beseech the mirror was used in casual. I use it in my Blood Avatar deck. And I’m making a bunch of tokens anyway for my blood god fodder. So I sac a token to grab Mondrak, or Appointed Procession, Grave Pact, or Jeska’s Will. It was a house in my deck, and happy to see it ranked so highly
Roaming throne is beast. 4/4 double all triggers, pick elves double your mana. 22more than deserves its spot.
Filter out resets jhoira and let’s you replay your board with ease
elf mana abilites are typically activated not triggered, but i do like this card because maelstorm wanderer
Bought Etali as it costs 3 $, wondering why nobody wants it. I put it into my Slimefoot&Squee Deck. Holy mother of machines... this bad boy won the most games of its own.

Bloodletter also does insane stuff like doubling Gary's etb, and doubling extort life loss / life gain.

I have a feeling roaming throne is gonna be one of those cards youre gonna have to eat crow on in about a year. Not saying its one ring or bowmasters good, but its definitely up there. Top 4 easy.

I have roaming throne in all 4 of my decks. All of my commanders have triggered abilities and it is amazing. I run chatterfang, Hylda, ellevere, and the green god from Ixalan.

a good number of universes beyond cards on this list. could be problematic going forward if this is the case every year as we have no idea if wotc can ever reprint these cards because they use licensed ip and wotc has made no indication they'll do universes within versions of anything but secret lair cards.

WOULD Roaming Throne work on Edgar? I mean, I’m sure it would work for the vamps in the 99, and Edgar on the board, but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t double his eminence ability due to the fact that he’s not a creature you control while he’s in the command zone. I put it in my Edgar deck, just to see how it fares in the 99. I guess we’ll see. It certainly wasn’t easy to make a cut for it to slot in that’s for sure! But I added Bloodletter of Aclazotz, and I thought it would be sick to have people lose double double life! Lmao
It doesn't work with the eminence trigger when Edgar is in the command zone as far as I know. Still a pretty good option. If only it wouldn't be so hard to find a slot in the 99...
Concerning roaming throne I have one word for you: nazgul and wraiths.
I saw someone doing the math to that on reddit and eventhough I do have a witch-king nazgul deck i didnt make the connection until I saw their calculations.
Its bonkers. Now add a blade of selves to it attachd to a nazgul and attack :D

I play mycosynth garden in my Ovika deck, I use it to copy big mana rocks or sol ring 😆
For me persanaly the top cards are Last march of the ents, new etali, Plaza of Heroes and Doors of durin.
But my absolut Favorit has to be ojer kaslem, because He is Just so stupid with His effect.

Ehh, I feel like saga Urabrask was the best new red card we got this year. It's also the strongest Urabrask to date. His saga side is just brutal. It's practically its own win condition in any deck it has high synergy with, which is mostly instants and sorceries, and who isn't running a bunch of those in high power decks. Lol..

Much as I love playing with The One Ring, they either need to give it Sol Ring-status affordability or get it out of the format.
Or we can just keep proxying and bypass budgets altogether but I feel like Hasbro wouldn't like that option.

Since 90% players use Orcish Bowmasters & The One Ring makes their game play highly predictable. Exile it on the stack and their entire strategy is flushed down the drain and everyone can continue playing a decent fun game of commander while those players grumble & pout.
Really hate the design of Roaming throne. Generic tribal artifact good stuff to sell packs to tribal EDH players doesn't sit well with me.
