- In this video, I would like to share with you all the exercises I do to practice speaking skills by myself. They are based on the shadow boxing method that you can practice every day even if you don't have native speakers around. I basically use them to get a basic level of conversation before trying to talk to native speakers, like talking with a language exchange partner.
This video is meant to share my experience and give you some inspiration. If you have better methods, please share them with us in the comments. Much love to you!

Guys I normally use all the exercises mentioned in the video to get a basic level of conversation before I try to speak to native speakers, such as speaking with a language exchange partner. Even though I start practicing with a language exchange partner, I still do these kinds of exercises in parallel. This video is meant to share my experience and give you inspiration. If you have any better methods or know of any useful apps, please share them with us in the comments. Much love!🥰🥰🥰
Girl plz share your skincare routine 😭❤️
Tu es tres jolie🥰
Oh, dear, you've placed the "shadow boxing" world in your video. Loving it !
Wow, the transcript tool is exactly what I was looking for a long time. Thanks a lot

This is the first time I've seen a language youtuber differentiate between pronunciation and accent and not obsess with the latter, which is sooo refreshing to hear! In my opinion, bringing a foreign accent into a language only enriches it.
Exactly. Thank you!
Agreed! Except, as someone with a very average American accent I’d rather not have it show when speaking other languages haha
Yes, I thought that was a very good point. Zoe is great.
This is very true -- as a Canadian, I love different accents as I think many Anglophone people do, but I kind of hate my own lol.
For Spanish, accents matter because it can be very different and your ears have to be trained for it. And it doesn’t hurt to speak the way you want. Actually everyone has an accent, it just depends on how it sounds.
As a native Cantonese speaker who’s also fluent in Mandarin and English, I am eager to explore and learn more languages. As of now I’m trying to learn Korean, Japanese by myself. Thank you Zoe for this wonderful video and sharing your tips to us. I’m sure I will benefit from this a lot.
I am learning Spanish and French. I love French but ıt is so hard to speak it. I will use this method 🥰🥰
This is perfect timing! I’m trying to learn Japanese and it’s been quite difficult but these tips seem so helpful so thank you and good luck to everyone else trying to learn a language. You’ve got this! 💜
Definitely miss, any recommendation resources for Japanese learner
wow, me too, that's awesome, I wish luck for both of us
Do you want to live in Japan?
Ahhh i am into japanese too. I have a lot of material but no way of processing it 😭😂
Amin
This is the best video that I have ever seen in my life about learning languages. Here I found three fundamental pillars: clarity, depth, and sincerity.
I love learning new languages in my life. This is my biggest hobby and dream
Your videos are so helpful and inspiring. I can't believe your channel hasn't been around for too long, the quality of your videos is so professional. Many thanks for the inspiration ❤️
I'm a bit behind in catching up on your videos, but this is so motivational for me. I'm learning Korean and while I'm okay with speaking (as far as my beginner level allows) I struggle with listening comprehension. One, these tips are very helpful for listening AND speaking so I will try them. Two, the fact that you said three years ago you were afraid to speak English and now you are fluent enough to do these long videos really inspires me. Thank you!
I really love your videos, I’ve recently hit a wall with my language learning and your tips, perspectives, and insight really helped me push through!
this is so timely!! and something i’ve been searching for to help myself pronounce french better and improve my french!! merci beaucoup !!
It's so amazing to see Joe learning and practicing a new language. I'm feeling very motivated to keep my studies.
I have finally found the sort of (coach) I can completely rely on. Fantastic dynamic, and I've been applying some of yours methods, and as simple as they sound, they're efficient.
- I also want to point out that your English accent is very pleasant and clear, at least for me. Watching your videos are both enriching & entertaining.
I honestly think this is one of the best language videos I've ever listened to. De très bon conseils, merci du fond du coeur
i'm very impressed the way you show how to put "shadow boxing" into practice. I read about that technique from Medium, rarely could I find a video about that. I'm learning Spanish now and I've found such technique very helpful. Thank you Zoe!!!
What an amazing video! I've just seen another video of yours where you say that you used to binge-watch videos on language learning, and I can see it clearly! You've got a well-rounded knowledge on techniques and tips, and in a such strategical, succinct view, that my mind boggles at how perfect is your way of tackling language learning. It's flawless.
Congratulations!
omg, this video is so useful and full of awesome pieces of advice, thank you, Zoe!
Zoe! You have no idea how helpful this video is for people who are stuck between beginner and intermediate but don’t have language exchange partners or tutors. This video explained language shadow boxing so well and not in the generic “just copy the words” way but in a more meaningful learning experience way. Thank you so much!!
I'm struggling to learn a new language but I always wanna be immersed in the new things. So thank you profoundly because of making this video. ❤️❤️

Great advice Zoe. You were realistic about your language-learning journey and this encouraged me. I will try this technique and come back to give an update on my progress.
Absolutely! It sometimes takes time to train your vocal apparatus to pronounce new sounds, but practice makes perfect! And when you'll get to pronounce them correctly, you'll also find it easier to identify them.
J'adore quand vous parlez en français. ❣
You are the best Dear Zoe. Absolutely amazing.

I know learn a language is not always easy. Not to mention to master a language. I envy those who can speak English very fluently. Zoe your enthusiasm and persistence give me more energy to move forward. Because no pain no gain.
I rarely comment on things but I want to say thank you Zoe for all the work you put in your videos. They are so well done and quite useful.

太谢谢你了Zoe for all your help and tips. 진짜 you are one of a kind. I can say this, because 私は also study languages at home all by myself. I noticed that out of all languages, Arabic is by far the most “difficile” and you speak it like a pro ما شاء الله. If you decide on “lernen” a new language like Russian or Spanish, or even a new Asian language like Japanese. “Lütfen” share your journey and study tips with us. You’re an inspiration. خداحافظ
thank you so much these tips are so helpful i’m attempting to learn french and it’s been a challenge but i think this video is going to be a huge help
It is mind blowing at how many things you have on the go and know so many languages! 🤯
What can’t you do?? 😂
😂😂😂
i bet she cant beat me in elden ring
As we say in french "Chacun son rôle et les cochons seront bien gardés 🐖 "
I really enjoy your videos! Your suggestion of writing a list of words with difficult sounding letters is spot on! I used that technique when I taught my Spanish students to speak English better ... and you have reminded me to use the same technique for my current two target languages, Darija Moroccan Arabic and Spanish. Another top tip that I have used with my students is to pick an English song that they like and learn to sing it. It is a great education in pronunciation and accent building techniques. And singing in your target language is FUN!
Thank you for sharing!
Hello, Zoe. I am so glad I came across this video. It is amazing what you have achieved in just a few years. Thank you for this useful content. I will definitely try the methods you recommend here.
I am wondering if while learning any of the languages you felt you plateaued. I have spoken English for a few years and I am quite advanced but at times it seems I am still getting a tongue tie or do not use all the vocabulary I know. I am wondering what methods I can use at this stage to further improve my English speaking skills.
Thank you!

Thank you for these great tips. I also love how you showed examples for each. I have a partner who is Filipino and I'm really wanting to learn the language and also really wanted to get better in Korean as I love how the words and how the language sounds. I'm looking forward to doing these.
Some on You Tube found that 1 can use Korean Hangul to write Cantonese & Hokkien, at
least. Tagalog has borrowed Hokkien dialect words more than
Cantonese, Mandarin, etc.
