Man, I don’t know what it is but I love this movie so much. For me, this is my favorite comfort movie, I really wish the sequels didn’t get cancelled because of the box office performance. I just finished the book and this trailer really disappointed me. I don't like that they switched Olive and Emma's peculiarities and made Olive into a teenager and also seemed to make a lot of the older characters into young children :/

Hello everybody, I've found today version of leaked Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, so I though it could help you. I've watched it and I must say I am delighted. The best part of movie is from 42 to 49 minute, I have almost cried! It would be the the best movie recently made. Version which I found is very good quality of sound and video (720p as I can see). There are also included French, Dutch and Spanish subtitles. I have watched it via upper link :)

In the book it was Emma and Jacob who had a relationship, here it's Olive and Jacob, obviously. And it looks like they mixed Bronwyn's peculiarity with Claire's looks. In the book Bronwyn is described as a rather not smiley person, if I remeber that correctly. Is the projector-boy supposed to be Horace? And where's Emma?
Emma and Olive, apparently, had their powers switched. It's Olive who wasn't shown, but Emma WAS shown, just with her power switched. I find it rather annoying

Replace average, nerdy outcast boy with teen heart-throb, replace fiery tempered girl with an ethereal pixie, replace masculine, tough teen girl with adorable pretty girl, replace old, bird-like woman with pretty young model, replace corpse-like monsters with Slenderman. Yup, it's a Hollywood adaptation, alright. Also, they fact that Jacob is peculiar too is supposed to be a twist.

The choice of actors seems passable. More significant is the shift in dress & mannerisms - in the books she was basically a holdover from the turn of the century. In this her dress appears closer to the 1930s.

I’ve always found the book series more creepy and scary, especially with the monsters and wights, and Devils Acre in the third book. I think this movie was directed to a younger audience, so there is less of the dark sides of the book and it is more whimsical. I think that’s also why a lot of the kids are smaller rather than teenagers in this, and also why they never made any of the other books into films because it would have to be directed at another audience. Just a guess lol

The movie was great- for those who haven't read that book or not appreciated the book that much.
For me, this was an okay movie, but I would still prefer the original plot which's in the book. I don't know what happened, I expected more especially since I've read the three books and even the extra one, and the director is exceptional. But it didn't met my expectations, being a huge fan of the book- this movie's okay. No hate, I still liked it. :)

Pandamanricky Yeah, it's one thing to change part of the plot of a story or something, but it's a completely different thing to change a main character's, well, character. Imagine if Ron and Hermione had their personalities switched! The producers are toying with something that shouldn't be toyed with, I hope the movie makes up for this major change.

So from the very beginning of this trailer, i was automatically worried that the movie might destroy everything for me. But i'd still give it a try, we'll never know it might not hurt so much as i think it would.

Emma will probably retain her character and history, but now she has olives revised power of air.(-_-) Unless her power of fire is crucial to how she acted around Jacob or Millard(which I don't remember if it was XD), the merge is probably what happened and not a complete deletion of Emma. I'm gonna miss Olive thou Q_Q.

The best part of film is from 39 to 48 minute, I've shuddered! It would be the the best movie this year. Version which I found is decent good quality of sound and video (720p as I can see). sometimes its impossible to make movies exacly like the books, the fact that they made a very good movie that stands in its own which you dont need to have read the book first is amazing. if they had made it exacly like the book it would have flopped because it probably wouldn't have worked :)
Kex Finnur Obviously it was impossible, but it's the fact that it barely resembles the book that bothers me. They majorly altered almost every main character and even the monsters. The plot and ending were so terrible and rushed that it's impossible to make a second or third movie (which is a plus in this case). Have you even read any of the series?
no I have'n read the books so i can't see what you are talking about, but maybe that's why I really enjoyed the movie. I had no thoughts about something else when I was watching the movie. I personally think now its more of a spin off from the books rather than a retale because books are an entirely different art form. I see why this bugs a lot of people It would probably bug me too but it was really well made in my eyes, the story, the acting and the effects were really good and again coming from an outsider to the franchise nothing bugged me personally :)

uhm, lets be honest, Olive's peculiarity is more interesting than Emma, maybe thats why, and i dont care if they follow the book or not, as long as they make a good movie, im fine with it. i can always enjoy the books if i want it exactly like that
Jeo Games I say they were both equally interesting and I would much rather have them follow the book than try to make it "different" or "innovative". But that is just my opinion.

Came back to watch this because I just found my old book at my mums house and I got the shock of my life when I realised this was out 7years ago. This movie still feels so new 🥺
The ending was strange. It was like, let's hurry up and end this film as fast as possible. Also, wouldn't it get boring to live the same day over and over again for over 70 years?
it would just be like waking up to a new day, but the date is the same.
But they're on a time schedule. They do the same thing at certain times during the day. Ex: the girl catching the falling squirrel.
In the book they address that--yes, they are all bored living the same day over and over again. They didn't seem to touch on it in the movie at all.
that squirrel thing doesnt happen in the book, only millard cares about creatures and humans whereabouts on that day... the children do different things each day.
In the book, the children do different things everyday. Sometimes they even play Raid The Village. 😉

the first time i watched it i was like what did i just watch now i watch it like its a comfort movie. eva green is just spectacular.
People don't seem to understand that film and literature are two different things with different ways to tell stories, both can be great and not be compared. The book has great things, and in the adaptations things change, that doesn't make it automatically bad, if it serves a purpose in the translation. Stop thinking a movie is bad just because they change stuff from the books they adapt.

What a hidden gem. Only watched it recently as a result of Vincent Teo using it to demo on his HDTV test channel. Fantastic story and so far the best Dolby Atmos effect. The HDR is also stunning.

I know! When I realized this I was so annoyed. I know they have to change things but don't change one of the main characters' powers + name! And the ages in this movie also annoyed me (Olive is supposed to be younger, Browyn older etc).
