    I think this is the pick that will show how good of a coach Jerome Henderson truly is. You can see that all of the physical tools are there, but only a good coach will make a consistent reliable player out of him. We'll see soon enough.

    Thanks Bobby & Justin for all of your hard work & your outstanding coverage & analysis of our much loved NY Giants. Bobby I do have a question for you if you see this. In the draft when we picked Evan Neal, I remember you being so adamant against taking Charles Cross. Kayvon was the best pick for sure & a brilliant one for our team & it’s future, however Neal has underwhelmed to say the least. I actually liked Cross & while he isn’t the second coming of Tyron Smith for Seattle his career so far has been much better than Neals. Do you regret your harsh assessment of Cross? Just wondering. Hopefully our new Oline coach can get Neal sorted. Maybe Eluemunor plays LG or takes over RT if Neal stinks it up. I don’t know why Neal hasn’t improved. He should be man enough to moved inside if it’ll help his career. It’s not like guards are making a ton less than right tackles.
    Anyway, Flott & Holmes are two smaller CBs who are pound for pound tough & gritty DBs for us. Banks is obviously our top young CB but Adoree largely underwhelmed as he was supposed to help round out the seckndary as the #1 or #2 corner err least. Former Giants GM traded back up in Round 3 to pick big corner Aaron Robinson to be part of the revamped Giants secondary but he has been a huge bust so far. He’s constantly been injured & played mediocre ball when he’s actually made it onto the field. 3rd round picks should be starters or top backups. Robinson has been a huge disappointment after showing so much promise as a tall & big corner. Now Dru Phillips has been ascendant. He’s punches above his weight as an average sized DB. He is quick & well rounded & a good tackler. Phillips & Nubin should really help round out this young secondary. I’m liking the Phillips pick more & more. He plays smart & tough. I think Dru Phillips & Tyler Nubin can really help the secondary which gave up too many big plays last year.
    Now in hindsight we should have kept Love on the modest deal he got from Seattle compared to the huge contract McKinney got from Green Bay. Both Love & McKinney were talented & versatile young DBs & leaders, but we can’t retain everyone. Schoen wisely invested in areas like the Oline & pass rush instead of overpaying Saquon or McKinney. Losing them stings, but we got a consensus top ranked safety in Tyler Nubin in Round 2 & Phillips looks like a strong 3rd round pick.
    Now despite the losses we had this offseason, I think we improved as a team & improved the overall construction of the roster. We have an an improved Oline & better pass rush, which are two of the most crucial areas outside of QB arguably that is conducive to success. We are solid in all 3 level of the defense now & got younger. Schoen & Daboll retained our own in the shrewd areas like making sure to extend Andrew Thomas, Sexy Dexy, etc Brian Burns was basically our 2nd second rounder.
    Anyway, I’m hopeful Phillips can be the smart, gritty & well rounded corner Aaron Robinson was supposed to be opposite Tae Banks.
    I’m really liking our free agency moves & Joe Schoen & Brandon Brown crushed another draft. We are seeing their vision manifest itself in the roster’s construction & culture. I think they’ve assembled a strong young core. We have a smart & gritty team. We got a dawg in Nabers too. Daniel Jones knows his hold on the starting QB job is tenuous & will have to deliver a breakout year. He knows Arch Manning could be donning Giants blue like his Uncle in a couple of years😉😆 I expect Daniel Jones to have a breakthrough season that could be an inflection point to an ascending career. We have to believe he can stay healthy & put it all together.
    Let’s Go Giants

    I was curious if Phillips ever covered Nabers in college. LSU and Kentucky don't normally play but they did in 2021. Nabers (and Wan'Dale) both had touchdowns in that game, but it appears Phillips didn't play much in 2021. That at least lets you think he can improve his game.

  • @DEILLANYG
    @DEILLANYG Před 19 dny

    Yeah I saw alot of plays out of him where he gets himself in the direct path of the wr on his route. End result is he gets run over and that's obviously not going to fly at the nfl level. I feel like he attacks downhill in run support well. He just needs to wrap up. Saw him go low on the ball carrier numerous times and not come up with the tackle. Good video man you're always on top of your game.

    Bobby - question - can what's wrong in Andru's game be coached out of him? He seems to have enough athletic ability to do well at the pro level but he may not see the field if his game doesn't improve. Was he coached to play this way (what you are showing in this film review) in college, or did he not respond to the coaching he received? Thanks.

      As far as Theo goes, Bellinger had very kilted college production and balled out his rookie year. I really am hoping Theo can take that same path, and with Bellinger doing all the dirty work at the line of scrimmage, I could easily see a path to Theo being our nose productive TE as soon as this year! I cannot wait to see what he can do in the middle of the field, with our new explosive #1 receiver actually demanding some respect from defenses… 500 yards and 4 TD rookie year? Also watched an interview of his and damn he is going to be easy to root for. Awesome kid
