🚗💭 Do you think Volkswagen's bold EV ambitions will recover from this setback? 🔍 "Volkswagen’s EV Dream Turns Nightmare: CEO Scrambles!"📺czcams.com/video/-quWHiNq7Hc/video.html
An advantage to the general public is that we can identify idiots when we see them driving their EVs. I'm putting a sign on my driveway: "NO ELECTRIC VEHICLES beyond this point. PLEASE park in the gutter out on the roadway."
The ICE car I bought was not even off the transport truck before I had bought it. The dealership took it into the shop and serviced it while I was signing the paperwork for it. But they had electric cars that had been on the lot for weeks without any buyers.
We have been lied to over and over about these EVs. No one trusts them any more. If you only have street parking how are you supposed to charge them? I get mobility and these have been offered to me every time i want a vehicle. I refuse because i dont trust them and the nearest place to charge is 2 miles away!! No EV for me!! Petrol head all the way and a just in case Jerry can in the boot. Cant put electric in a jerry can
A year ago I had to get a new car. The Hyundai dealership had an electric car in the showroom and I could have bought 2 of the gasoline cars for the same price as the one electric car.
I am older so it is no why i am going to buy a ev, because they are too expensive and the second hand value is lower than for petrol cars and they are ugly.
Suggestion to all reading this: Go to any car dealership and just walk around their used cars yard and count the number of used EVS there. I did this recently at a Kia dealership and the place was ram jam full of EVs gathering dust and green moss in the window channels etc. Few people want an EV, especially used ones. It's time these dealerships got together to make a case against EVs to present to the parasites in government that are trying to push these wretched things on to us. In a democracy we must be allowed personal choice.
EV's are for you only if (1) you can afford a second vehicle to tow, carry a useful load or take long road trips and (2) you can charge it off-peak (home) and avoid costly, inconvenient and crowded public charging stations and (3) you can absorb the initial high price of an EV and suffer the increased depreciation.
In other words EVs don't make sense whatever ones circumstances. Any positive points are cancelled when you come to trade in and get told to go sell it privately because the dealer does not want it.
BEV is for you only if you are dumb - you cannot understand that it is a scam, the BEVs being highly unreliable (their segment is exceeded in unreliability only by full-size pickups segment, according to the latest Consumer Reports annual reliability survey), having a huge TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) despite the initial low MSRP, they are very dangerous (especially if you want to park/charge a BEV in the garage adjacent to your house), highly impractical (small range, far lower efficiency in extreme temperatures, very shorten range when towing etc.), controllable (by the dystopian governments) etc.
Wouldn’t catch me buying any sort of EV including a hybrid. Cars have become way to complexed over the years and even adding a hybrid setup to a traditional ICE vehicle only makes things worse not to mention the fact that thermal runaway is a problem in anything running lithium ion batteries is a fire risk which we are seeing more and more even in e-bikes, kids toys and the like. The fact that EVs are being pushed on consumers is a recipe for disaster not to mention a delusional plan.
ALL these comments dont feature one of the BIGGEST concerns, that of the ev catching fire !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, especially if its charging in the owners garage overnight !..... has the neighbour been advised that THEY have a real live bomb next door ? There is plenty of evidence/videos to show just what happens in this situation, (Luton airport for one) BUT, if your reading this in the UK, the government of the day, refuse to advertise this fact, WHY is the question, GREED/LIES is the answer.
Just days ago a three day old Volvo EV caught fire on the A55 Expressway in north east Wales near Denbigh. A child was trapped in the back seat since the doors would not open. The person who saved the child by reaching over from the front seats suffered 60% burns to his face and arms. See articles online. MGUY here on CZcams has covered the event. Anyone that puts a chid in an EV should be charged with child abuse!
Why do the car manufacturers continually build cars that people cannot afford? Do they think people will magically be able to increase their take home paycheck? Get real and begin to create vehicles people can afford.
Renault tried to do what you are suggesting and they came up with the cheap and nasty Renault Zoe. To add insult to injury NCAP gave the car a ZERO SAFETY RATING! Even a cheap EV is a bad choice. Why would anyone want to add more stress to our ever stressful lives?
Take a look at BMW! The cheapest car is entry level ICE at £40k and an EV at £60/70k. I’m not sure u can buy a BMW under the government higher rate car tax. Just ridiculous!!
OK,,,So let’s understand how this works. I pay a fortune for a EV. Then I wire my house for it. Then our beloved Governor ( the Chunky Dude signs any thing) has a Tax waiting in the wings. Then I have to park it outside because of fire hazard. Then insurance is ballistic high. Then don’t get hit ,you burn to death. Then I can’t go to Florida in less than 3-4 days. So far sounds like a Hell of a deal to any enlightened Moron. Yes ,we need a Gas replacement but this AINT IT.
BEV scam. And the Chinese commies' clunkers are the worst. As an example, they seem to be cheap, because of lower MSRP. But the TCO Total (Cost of Ownership) is huge, because they break down a lot.

Difficult to explain advantages of electric cars to client, due to the fact that there are none.
An advantage to the general public is that we can identify idiots when we see them driving their EVs. I'm putting a sign on my driveway: "NO ELECTRIC VEHICLES beyond this point. PLEASE park in the gutter out on the roadway."
I would like to know by 2030 what are both US and UK Governments going to do if the dealers refuse to sell them and the public refuse to buy EVs?
Unless the governments wake up and smell what they're shoveling, they'll just continue to blindly force them upon an unwilling public.
Let's hope that happens .governments can not dictate to people like this .this is supposed to be a democracy not a dictatorship .or is it 😵😵😵
It's only a democracy when it suits THEIR agendas. Not the people's.
The ICE car I bought was not even off the transport truck before I had bought it. The dealership took it into the shop and serviced it while I was signing the paperwork for it. But they had electric cars that had been on the lot for weeks without any buyers.

There are no benefits to EVs that will ever out-weigh the deficits.
I am older so it is no why i am going to buy a ev, because they are too expensive and the second hand value is lower than for petrol cars and they are ugly.
My local Hyundai dealer is a good example. They are selling the electric cars but the sales person that I dealt with said she would not sell them.

Excellent summary of the situation 😊

BEV is the wrong solution to an unexisting issue.
Buyers reluctance to EV’s is the major factor

Super comment allamar! 👍🏼
Bring simple EVs like G-Wiz, Nissan Leaf, Renault Zoe and Mitsubishi i-miev.
The Renault Zoe has a ZERO STAR NCAP rating! Trash on trash. No EV makes any sense.
Hyundai evs are too expensive. Korean car companies can not compete with Chinese electric vehicles.
BEV scam.
And the Chinese commies' clunkers are the worst.
