@nathanthemoneyman9191 yeah, poor McDavid. Always targeted by the refs. Like when he clipped Hughes. The guy can't catch a break. Even when someone supposedly gets away with a cheeky hold on him, refs are still bias and penalize poor McD. A travesty.
@darylwilliams7883 McDavid clipped him with a high stick and it drew blood. Easy call. Whining about a cheeky hold being missed? Come on! I am a neutral fan, please stop whining likes nucks fans did. It gets you nowhere.
Of course he knew, he has the best hockey sense and hockey IQ of anyone in the world. He knows everything that goes on when he's on the ice, he knows where everybody is at all times, who are you kidding? Of course this was deliberate, he doesn't do anything by chance.
Look again! Duchene has both hands on his own stick until 1:02, and then lets go with his left hand at 1:03. The high stick happens at 1:00 in the replay. Watch it at .25 speed and it is easily seen.
McDavid has a habit of carrying his stick high (he hit Soucy and Hughes with high sticks in the Vancouver series) and while I disagree with the drop of blood part of the rule, that's the rule and so it was a good call. Much better than the missed 4 min call when he high sticked Hughes in the Vancouver series. I'm pulling for the Oilers as the last standing Canadian team but a high stick is a high stick.
Held his stick? Really? It looked to me like both of his hands were on his own stick. Hmmmm. And so you are saying that warrants drawing blood, right? That McD was justified? wow. Where were all you guys earlier in the playoffs when there was no call on McD for drawing blood with his stick to a players face? That was okay, though, too, right? McDavid has a habit of pushing his luck on the ice because he knows the big boys in the NHL will back him with just about whatever he does. Now he expects to get away with penalties like this regularly and cries when he doesn't get his way. Maybe he can get a job working for "the cause" after he starts getting whacked himself, since he likes what they're doing and believes in it. Or maybe he could get a job working for a company that makes rainbow colored clothing? The league has created a monster, and he's playing the part of a spoiled brat.
Interesting how they review the call and still can't get it right. Yep 4 minutes for high stick drawing blood, but still missed Duchene holding McDavid's stick. USELESS!
Where did he hold his stick tho? Like really asking, I dont see it, I am not a fan of neither of these teams, so I genuinely think this was normal high sticking by McDavid 2+2, but maybe I am missing something
Funny, how in the Vancouver series he did it to Hughes and there was no call And after this is his third or fourth time he's finally going to get a penalty guys, gotta learn to keep his stick on the ice and quit hitting people in the face. If you've been called in Vancouver to the series would've been different.

@@cdncitizen4700 Duchene was not hooking, or holding! @@nathanadrian7797 Duchene's is over top of McDavid's, trying to hold Connor's stick down. But he wasn't having any of it and lifted Matt's stick to clear room so he could handle the puck unobstructed.
@@cdncitizen4700 You are right, his stick was underneath. So what would the call be against Duchene? He isn't holding the stick, and to be hooking he has to be hooking the body, which he isn't. There is no rule against what Duchene did unless you want to call it interference, and then everyone will get called about once a shift. Using your stick to control what the opposing player can do with their stick is a hockey play and not a penalty unless you slash.
Worst call of the playoffs, clearing favoring Dallas as no PP given to Edm for the rest of the period with several infractions that could have been called.
I just noticed that they were playing Enya- Only time. I love that song.
He held McD’s stick.

McDavid did. Duchene was holding McDavid's Stick.
MCdavid was clearly trying to get free and get the puck which is a penalty if you are a Canadian franchise.

Unintentional Obviously
He is careless with his stick. Unintentional or not, he high sticked Duchene and drew blood, the same as he did with Hughes.
@JamesonMama The right call was made. It has nothing to do with intention. Duchene missed the entire pp.

... Duchene was holding McD's stick down, aka "hooking"... Connor was freeing up his stick and Duchene's face got in the way.
