- Produced in 2005, this 54 minute documentary, written & directed by Kevin Harris - looks at the phenomenon of township families who, over the preceding decade, had moved to the elite Johannesburg Northern Suburbs - reflecting on how they see their new environment in relation to their township roots.
Featured are Ms Angie Baloyi, Dr Elijah & Valerie Nkosi & family, Brian Mdluli & family, Ms Sibongile Mazibuko & son Musa and Ms Ruth Gumbi.
This was great to rewatch. Being featured in it, 16 years ago, it feels like an old VHS tape of my family and the political environment of the time. Thank you!
Hi Sindi.
Watching and I can see why.
Greatly shot and narrated. Still relevant.®®®
❤hi how's the family doing
In 2019, this is really relateable still!
This really gives great context what life in Johanessburg was like in 2005
Thank you for this amazing documentary! I wish these families can reflect on this!
Wow this footage is gold
Give thanks wonderful content timeless.
Really interesting. I hope things have improved for black families living in the northern suburbs in 2023, but I fear it’s probably not changed enough.
Thanks Mr Kevin Harris!
I am watching nice content I did subscribe
Clever blacks😂
One thing i dont undestand about our parents generation is how they were abused maar they still move next to white people
