This seems like it would have a secondary benefit of giving you something solid to weed eat against that doesn't eat a massive amount of line
Great video. FYI dogs are "loved ones". :)
Thanks for the video. My fence company did not put bottom rails on. My German Shepherd figured out how to get under the fence in a couple days. Looks like I need to get the fence company back out or install the rails myself.
Thank you for this!!! My dog has been getting out and you made this easy
You are so welcome!
I pretty much automatically quote bottom rails on all school jobs around playgrounds and sports fields, the fabric holds up better to the abuse. I also put a rail at grade when building wood post, rail and wire fence for dog and kid containment when the ag/horse fence look is desired by the customer. That way I can hold the field fence or non-climb up a couple of inches, makes the weed-eating a lot more effective and less aggravating. Dan, your daughter looked so interested! Try having her hand you things like ties, staples, whatever in a certain orientation or quantity, worked for me, until they found out boys don't have cooties.
Cheers!
Thank you
Well explained, you make it look so easy.
It is! You've got this. 👍🏻
Awesome, thank you
You bet!
Love the channel!
Appreciate it!
Do you have a suggestion on how to keep my neighbors dogs from digging under the fence and coming in my yard?
I catch myself watching you do things I already know how to. Keep it up
That's super encouraging. Thanks!
Very clean and clear! Any options for the a bottom rail on 5x5 vinyl posts with ranch style triple horizontal rails and no current bottom tension wire?
Genius
Thanks so much
No problem
Nice sir
Nice video. It helped me out
Awesome. 👍🏻
We dug 1' down, then buried predator fencing 2' inside and 1' outside the fence. Lots of work, but it kept the predators out and the animals inside.
Hi, how do you handle fences that have corners that aren't a perfect 90 degree angle?
You can use pliers for the tie
john , what component do i use at corners that doesn't make 1 rail higher off the ground ( because of stacking). I don't see any corner mounts anywhere
Same component, just flip it over. czcams.com/video/ooqa6abatBM/video.html
What about using the line rail clamps on line posts that are on a hill?
On a hill you have to resort to using brace bands with rail ends. 👍🏻
Looks like you are keeping your daughter out 🤣 especially when you say ‘ keep your loved ones in’ haha
🤣
LOL not my border collie T___T he's too smart for his own good
Would this help to keep the fence in tact when a snow plow is pushing snow up against it?
It would make the bottom more rigid for sure, however it might be best to not plow snow into the fence. 😀🙂 (Giving you a hard time--I realize you may not be the one doing the plowing.)
So if you had say four sections of fence, would you still only us two rail ends and a clamp on the middle two poles?
Yes. I would run several hundred feet before I needed to use another terminal post with additional rail ends. 👍🏻
@@SWiFence thank you!!
Hi how are you I have a question I half to hang a Chain link gate in a walkway how much do I charge?$
as for a donation and leave it at that.
My vicious man eating cat is a loved one.
Why am I not surprised? 🤣
what size are the easy twist ties please?
You can see sizes and gauge choices here: www.swifence.com/round-easy-twist-ties.html?id=96027021
Is bottom rail same diameter as top?
Yes.
ok, I used your method! 220 ft of fence and the dog is safe and sound - no more getting out!!!! Wahahahahahah
Dan, that works rather danged well on that chain link fence. If I was a dog eating cat… I’d shun digging under it fer sure!
Iffen I had chain link within which to contain one, that is. However, I don’t. All I have is 5 strand Bob-War on hedge posts.
I was wondering, could that contraption be adapted to keep the canine devouring feline from digging under MY fence?
If so, it would be a good danged idea!
Absolutely! You just need to stack about 30 of them on top of each other and then wedge them between the hedge posts. Should do the trick. 😂
@@SWiFence I shoulda knowed you’d have a way! Thank ya.
Useless if there is NOT an existing brace band at the bottom!
How do you get a new brace hand on at the bottom?
Not trying to sound silly but you buy one and install it. Super simple. Just match it to your pipe size. You can pick these up anywhere.
My dog still tore the fence from the chain link he will pull on it with his teeh until he breaks it
Doesn't sound like your fence was put together extremely well. A heavy-gauge easy twist tie every few links will absolutely keep that from happening.

I am sorry but my dog make a whole under that bar and scape.
Sounds like you need a buried concrete curb.
I think its cheaper and easier to just get rid of the dog.
It's always cheaper and easier to just get rid of the dog. 😆
Dog proof = hotwire.
Bc that doesn't do it...
Nice... but will work only for some big dogs. For small dogs, foxies and similar creatures will not work. They will dig under sorry..
You're absolutely right--it won't work for all dogs, but it sure makes it harder for them. Perhaps I should revise the title for all you keeping me honest out there! 😁
