    So that's why my master cylinder was almost empty after my 70 vette was sitting in my garage for a few years.
    Thanks for the info on how to rebuild with better seals.

    Good video. I've read an article about installing stainless steel sleeves to repair the pitted cast iron (steel?) ones. The author talked about annual rebuilds because of the salt that was being used on the highways. This was during the late 70's. My brother had a 72.

    This is why GM issued a service bulletin to use rtv in the counter bore, its also in the 1980 service manual.
    I actually followed this process and they never leaked again.
    Bottom line, use an O ring regardless.

    You need to talk loader
