- Welcome to another episode of Scrap Mechanic Multiplayer Monday! Today we are playing Telephone with a twist! In this video kAN will be building his own creation, while Moonbo must describe what he is building to me as I attempt to replicate kAN's build using only Moonbo's verbal instruction. The catch is, Moonbo can't see what I'm doing either, so he has no idea if I'm following his instructions correctly!

these builds are the perfect representation of the importance of communication, and knowing when and how your statements may be misinterpretated. Just one small inaccuracy when building a statement can lead to huge misunderstandings, and (leaving the gaming-aspect aside and applying it to regular irl scenarios) result in massive conflicts, that could be avoided if people would account for that when communicating. The more precise the words are chosen, the less room for error is there. This is even more the case for written communication, since text lacks tone, facial expressions and gesturing.
This is one of my favorite formats. The telephone challenge has a lot of potential for different ways to do it and make it more exciting and the more you guys do it, the better you become at describing so it's a very good practice session too.
This had me in stitches! I love the changes to the rules. All I say is it's a good thing Scrapman didn't build his baseball bat any lower

It was pretty funny how often you expected Moonbo to say "now place a bearing".
With the restrictions in place this time, this honestly seems as good as it can get more or less
This was great! I agree there was too much communication in the earlier telephone vids. It's way more entertaining to watch it go wrong than right!
I laughed so hard at about 12:00 when Moonbo is like "above the blue wood extensions" and Scrapman just paints his wood so the instructions make sense. LMAO
Or just have the builder make a temporary dot on 1 side, and then refer to the "dot side" regardless of orientation of the whole build. :)

I have an idea for multiplayer monday: Each person builds a car (4 players) and they’re divided into two teams, randomly choosing who uses the front of the car, and who uses the back of the car (Scrapman has the front of the car, Kan has the back of the car, etc.) As for the steering, each person has control over the side of the car they’re using. You’ll have to be in sync with your partner with great communication if you want to win.
I’m pretty sure they done this before. Good video idea tho

right off the bat, this premise seems much better, I did find the last challenge to be less than satisfactory to watch due to how accurate the communication was in 2 way.

Now I wonder what it'd be like if you could freely communicate, but had a time limit, we need more episodes so we can see all the variants !

Put the extension perpendicular to the part that is next to the bit on top of the line which is extended from the blue. 🤣😂🤣
Scrapman would have had a much easier time if Moobo had defined some cardinal directions before trying to describe putting extensions on parts connected to the open side of things that are blue. This is a much more entertaining version of telephone than the last one, good show gentlemen! 😂

You could try this: who would be the builder explains their build to the "communicator" & they have to build it out for the last player who then has to explain what they built to the original inventor of the build & see how similar the 3 builds get.

When my dad teaches Intro to Computer Science at the community college, he opens the class with an exercise like this, where they build a model, then write out instructions, then another group has to rebuild from the instructions. His students have the advantage of a limited bag of lego parts, and the disadvantage of not having enough parts to make anything recognizable.

I love these sort of videos, the end results are always so interesting.
Maybe use xyz axis to describe block placement in the future, I dont think it takes away from the spirit of the game. Great show btw.
That sounds like pain. "Put a block on the x minus side". How about: top, bottom, North, East, South, and West?

So what Moonbow sould have done is establish the meaning of front, left, right and back in the begining with the missing leg of the stabilizer being the front, exactly so he can say the direction and ScrapMan would understand 😁 maybe next time 😉😉

I like this. I am getting quite positive vibes after watching the video.
In uni I took Technical Writing and it taught being VERY specific, non ambiguous when writing instruction manuals etc. Think of every possible way someone could misinterpet it. Of course that is a lot harder when doing it live.

Its very funny to see the way they are describing things, but an efficient and competitive way would be to always specify the "Lenght" of the structure (towards and away from the sun) how "Wide" it is (left and right from the sun) and how "Tall" it is. Now, if someone was to use this describing method, it would be very, very funny to see the builder (not the replicator) rotate the creation on the lift randomly every now and then to mess with the replicator

For anyone that is familiar with the Roman alphabet, that "3-sided shape thing" is a "T" or, phonetically, a "Tee."

Multiplayer Monday idea: try to build somthing like a baseball bat, big enough to hit a farmbot.

This is hilarious, I prefer hide and go seek but this is awesome
My main tip when it comes to this is lay down ground rules for axes. You could’ve said that the singular leg was the +z direction and the other legs were x from there just randomly say this is +x since it’s the same on both sides at that point (I mean you could specify, “when standing at the single leg, looking towards the creation the left is - and right is +”
But then it wouldn't be so fun to watch.

Using words like extrude, plane, cube, would help a ton
Establishing and using cardinal directions (north, south, east, west) would probably help with this.

in this video, moonbo should be the one who is building and Kan should be middle man since in previous tel. challenge, Kan was also building
I would define my axes asap, for example you could have called the perpendicular leg of the tripod the back and said any lefts or rights are from a perspective facing the same way as the tripod

this would have been a lot easier using proper coordinating, as XYZ axis... like.. four blocks to +x 3 for -X or something like that...
That was interesting yet strangely confusing and I was thinking maybe they could build a tiny maze where they'll have to get the duck from 1 end of the maze to the other end of the maze and then have the whole thing shoot into the sky with thrusters and then 5 seconds later explodes

you need to make a compass of 3d reference for these to make someones life easier .... NESW on the floor and UFDB (up forward down backward) would make descriptions easier for the describer ....

I think this is great but the builder shoud be allowed to only say repeat, and the commentor can only repeat it once. Then there would not be a situtation where both sides know that it is wrong and they try to fix it.
