- Jason Robinson is a rugby legend. He was an electrifying player who scored some brilliant tries for England and the British & Irish Lions in a legendary career. He famously scored England's only try in the Rugby World Cup final in 2003 after making his name on the 2001 British & Irish Lions tour.

Billy Whizz, one of England's greatest wingers/fullbacks. His balance and acceleration were world-class, and he was a fearless defender. Loved watching him play.
The most powerful ankles in rugby! Its a shame you couldn't also show his League tries. That set his foundation for his Union career, but an incredible player in both codes.
Robinsons ability to beat a man one on one was unique. Unbelievable talent.
Am a League fan but i think you got the best of him in Union. I am glad he was able to test out both codes. Sensational player.

I remember he played with Giteau, Nonu, Conrad Smith, and other stars for the Barbarians v a first choice South Africa in 07 and was by far the best player. One of the best that have ever played, if he was an All Black or Springbok it wouldn't even be in doubt

@@markdavies9054Shane was excellent but remember that Jason had already played a full rugby league career where he was, IMO the best winger in the world, before starting his union career.
Brilliant player and top bloke. However, I had forgotten how frightening his shimmy, show and step at pace was ... good luck one on one even getting a hand on him!

Some of his best runs werent his try scoring ones. Some outrageous line breaks from fb in 01, 02, and 07.
The Twickenham crowd used to cheer in anticipation each time he got the ball. What a compliment to a player

Best player of all time? Certainly best English player IMO. Completely conquered both codes.

I 'always' look at the Robinson try in the 2003 final and think that if Wilkinson had seen Cohen on the right, then a simple run in under the posts. Extra 2 points (conversion was missed in real life) and maybe an easier win for England and no extra time drop goal glory. Lol

No one is ignoring his rugby league career. This is a rugby union channel and that is the only footage we have, simple as that
I remember him well , I first watched him when he played for Wigan RL as a young lad . He soon developed into an awesome winger .
Rugby Union never saw the best of him. Why not show some of him in his prime at Wigan RLFC?

Rugby Union is where Rugby League players go for a big pay day and a rest, it was once said on SKY TV if memory serves me right, and this was by a ex ENGLAND international player ( he was so biast, and was Union through and through) that Jason Robinson was by far to small, and that he wasn't big or good enough to play for England,

As a Rugby League man, and It really pains me to say this, but Jason Robinson, an ex -Rugby League player (BILLY WIZZ), was probably one of the best wingers that England has ever had 👍🏴
