- Edwin Starr performs his most famous song for the very last time here in Stuttgart in 2003. This song was not only the most successful and well-known record of his career, but it's also one of the most popular protest songs ever recorded. It charted in at No. 1 on the US Billboard Chart and at No. 3 on the US Hot R&B Chart, and also charted at No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart in 1970. Edwin Starr was an American Soul singer from Nashville, Tennessee. Starr is most famous for his, Norman Whitfield produced, Motown singles of the 1970's, most notably this track. On April 2nd 2003 Edwin Starr sadly passed away from a heart attack.
