Especially those of who watched Craig Foster laughing at half time at Celtic before Scott McDonald scored the winning goal against AC Milan. Then watched him criticizing Ange on tv about Aussie youth team. Ange showed his self control in that interview.
Haha, great video. One of the reasons why I like this channel is because Hamish was one of the few who did his research before opening his mouth when Ange signed. Keep up the good work
My god i love Ange. How what a brilliant job he had done in the first 5 months, and now the whole season. Just think back to how low we were when Weasel Eddie Howe strung us along for months.
As both an Aussie and Celtic Fan, I was excited to say the least when Ange was appointed. Everywhere he goes, success follows. I couldn't believe the commentary around him joining, but I understand the passion for the club and the expected success; that said, I'm not surprised Celtic are 6 points clear, and I won't be surprised when he holds three pieces of silver at the season's end. The man is a legend.
This year proves that you can not judge the book by the cover.I have learned during my life that a name means nothing ,you have to judge a person on what the do rather than who they are.
Great job Hamish, i have just loved watching these old posts on how they rubbished and ridiculed Ange on his appointment - As an Aussie, i have followed his journey from day one and regardless on how many trophies he does win, you have to commend and admire the man for his humility and demeanor in brushing off criticism and just getting on with it ..this will put him in good stead in the wider football circles and no doubt his stock will continue to rise both as a manager and a well grounded and natured human being ! -
Most of us love Ange in Oz, but even here he had many doubters and its only now some people in Oz are realising his talent, it’s obviously understandable that people in Scotland would have so many reservations about a guy that has never been in the mix, which makes it all the more satisfying to have such a pleasant element of surprise, nice work on the channel!
Bro, I've been a Newcastle Jets fan in the Aussie league for 27 years, 'Breakers' 'United' all the name changes 😂 When I knew Ange was coming to Glasgow, I was saying to my pals, 'listen, this guy's the real deal"!
I don’t know about many. But there were a few who’s only metric was winning…even though our players were shit. That’s the problem with Aus football. No one with vision running it. When we do get someone, they get hounded out.
I chuckled at Charlie's behind the 8 ball analogy, when he said we were "so far behind the 8 ball" Being Far behind the 8 ball would actually make it easier Charlie than if you were right behind the 8 ball. Has he never played pool/snooker ???
He means snookered (as you would be if you were on reds or yellows at pool) and should have said that but he must be trying out new, snappy, intercontinental phrases. Is there maybe a cool way for him to say "I'm a pure bawbag"!?
We don't listen to anything Charlie has to say. He is an absolute traitor. He just jumps on the bandwagon because he get paid for spouting bile. Hail Hail
Overall, Ange at Celtic is just a great story. Us Aussies (well, most of us) knew that he'd be doing something special at Celtic and it's been great fun following the story. As others have mentioned, it was natural for Celtic fans to have doubts in the beginning (with Ange not then being known in Europe), but I think the fans were probably onboard quicker than most. That's down to not only the results, but also how Ange presents himself, along with the style of play he demands - which is really a great fit for Celtic. I'm looking forward to this story getting bigger and bigger. Hail! Hail!
I was fortunate enough to meet two of Ange's best friends from Melbourne in a bar in Ballater and they told me that they had no doubts when he took the job that would be a success. Just shows what a class manager we now have, and I hope he stays for a long time because I could watch this Celtic team week in week out.
I always thought an Australian wouldn't find it difficult culturally to fit into Scottish life and football, and had every confidence in Ange being a success here. Well done to him, the people responsible for bringing him here, the signings he made and the players he inherited. We Never Stop.
I remember so clearly when Ange was appointed and spent time reading the comments from the fans. Almost to a man they did not want of had faith in a man who had not put a foot on Scottish soil, let alone got Celtic to kick a ball in anger. Then after the first early results, and with 10 points dropped early on, he was written off which was pathetic. Any manager needs time especially after what he inherited. I love he is his own man, never listens to those around him except those he chooses to listen to. He has a plan and the players who fit that plan. Every player he signed we had not heard of but are literally legends already. His transformation has been nothing less than that of miraculous in a mater of games and are on the cusp of another historic season. If we do end up completing yet another treble, I hope the doubters hang their heads in shame. HH ANGE
Sorry but you can’t call this team legends they’ve only won one cup. Calm down wait till they start doing well in Europe then we can call them legends and that’s if we win the treble.
If Celtic were in a European final. And a Scottish cup final. They would be at the spl to put the Scottish cup final back a week Not to play two finals in the space of three days. But the wee nine year old team is just getting on with it with no fuss.
The day I heard that Celtic were interested in Ange ,I simply looked on CZcams and google. Pretty easy for a supporter to do some research, I found loads of info most of which was positive, impressed me way more than Eddie who. So no forgiveness for ill informed pundits and Kudos to supporters who took to him straight away.
Hand on heart, I knew nothing about Ange when he arrived, but with any Celtic manager or player that comes in, fans back them and give them a chance. Pundits and former pro's or "experts" if you will, are paid to have an opinion, so will say whatever gets them the most likes and comments. I think what I like most about Ange is he's honest, he takes no bull in his press conferences, gets asked stupid questions and bats them away. He's the Celtic manager, he's brought his style of play to us and I like it! 💚🍀
For all the lazy journalism there was around Ange it's worth giving praise to the very few people who actually did their homework and didn't jump on the skeptic bandwagon. There's an excellent video of Gordon Strachan talking about Ange in pre season, speaking highly of him at a time when the entire media were condescending against him. Look it up, it's a really good watch.
I sat in the pub on the day Rangers drew with Hearts at Ibrox and said to my Hoops pals that this title would go down to the wire as Rangers could not replicate the previous season's form and Celtic could not under perform so badly. So it would come down to the Old Firm games. This is how normal people work out football results. And the minute Rangers started going further in Europe than Celtic - that put it beyond doubt. It happened in 2003, 2008, and now in 2022. Go far in Europe, lose the league.
It's no surprise that the "SO-CALLED FOOTBALL JOURNALISTS", are condescending towards CELTIC FOOTBALL CLUB as the majority of the "SO-CALLED JOURNALISTS" are supporters of a certain club in Ibrox!!! 🍀 💚 HAIL HAIL 💚 🍀 ⭐ ✊

To be fair, I think we all had our doubts about Ange, our dodgy defence and our unlikely prospects of winning anything this season, when these comments were made! Isn’t it a sign of how great a manager we have that he rose to the challenge brilliantly and proved all doubters wrong including me!
be fair to Commons - he was expressing sympathy for Ange in that quote because of the shambles he inherited. He never said anything about Ange at all - his criticism was all toward the team/club at the time so he wasn't eating his words either
I remember my Rangers cousins on FB laughing about his appointment. Told them then they'd be in for a shock. They believe me now. Though, and this says a lot about how Ange carriers himself, they don't hate him.

Thanks Hamish. Loved this 👌👍 The Brasil clip is rude as **** i cringe every time I see it . Always enjoy wee nuggets of wisdom so frequently supplied by Hugh Kevin & Charlie Nicholas 🤣😂🤣 HH Hamish 🍀💚
What people fail to realise is that Ange and his teams dominated in a competition with a salary cap so small it was ridiculous. He didn't buy his teams he built them with players that would fit his style. Didn't matter that they weren't household names they just fit. We knew here in Oz if you give him a chequebook and quality players to suit his philosophy he would be outstanding. The proof is in the pudding!!
I was brought up in glasgow and I am celtic through and through. I moved to Australia in 1990 and watched ange progress as a manager here and overseas. Thought he was a great manager but when he was announced as the celtic manager I thought that job may have been too big for him at the time. But I am happy to have been prooven wrong . Ange has been great for celtic and celtic have been great for Ange as you can see he is loving g life there and long may it continue. Yasou Ange
I kept quiet when he was appointed as everyone deserves a chance, my main concern was the defence as some of the goals lost in those early defeats were shocking so I did fear the worst for the season initially but again was willing to give it but more time and keep quiet, even after the first Rangers game it was clear they weren’t gonna run away with the league, getting CCV and Jota in after that were key, it’s been all gravy since
To be fair, I said many times (especially after the first couple of games) that I thought he was the s come coming of Deila. Never been happier to be proven wrong in my life
Not only did Hugh Keevins take an unjustified swipe at a manager he knew nothing about, but the whole "now we know what the Ange stands for" has a ring of xenophobia about it. It's the whole "let's ridicule the foreigner with the funny name" kinda vibe. Then when you take into account he actually mimmicked Ange's Australian accent in a derogatory manner on Clyde Super Scoreboard not long after (offensive af and would never be acceptable with the foreign manager of any other team) it really starts to take on a nasty feel. This is a buffoonish old man who can't keep his foot out of his own mouth and who needs to retire.
I knew from the second he was rumoured he would be class. As an Aussie who watched him coach the national team and my team I support Melbourne victory. If Celtic get knocked out of champions league in the group stages next year I see Celtic winning the Europa league.
Being a Jambo out here in oz , we were cheesed when Ange went to Celtic coz we knew he would be successful. He was an inspiration with Brisbane roar where he had them playing awesome football and when he went to the tic they were all saying he would be a dud. lol the fitba purists tic fans didn't have a clue and now he's the best thing since sliced bread .just wished he had went to Tynie instead of one of the arse cheeks .
To be fair, Anges appointment was a bit out of left field, an unknown (to most pundits) Australian of Greek heritage who played in the old Australian league (certainly not one of the worlds top flight leagues) , had managed a couple of teams in the new A league and the national youth and senior teams then lobs into Celtic from Japan. People who have followed his career know what type of man he is and the love of the game he has. I would bet that after this year he is on the radar of all the English and Euro leagues right up to the Premier league as a possibility to be considered.
The big man has just gone about his Business in a truly professional manner never moaned or made excuses when his back was to the wall but by god he never doubted himself for a minute and all the smart ass big mouths who tried to put him down are now back tracking with their comments…get it right up them all …Ange will have the last laugh☘️🇯🇵HH
To be honest, I thought the same. I thought it was just a panic appointment after the collapse of the Eddie Who deal. I didn't know who Ange was. But, after reading about his achievements and watching some interviews on CZcams, I already had a good feeling, even before his first game.
Like many other Aussie Celt fans here I was excited but also a bit fearful because of the state of the club at the time and whether he would have enough time and support to have an impact. The fact is he is a serial winner and he’s been successful again although quicker than many of us thought. Great person great manager. Now the club hierarchy needs to give him a longer contract and get right behind him. Where he’s had issues like with the national team it’s because of lack of support and vision from the suits in charge. PS my main concern now is that EPL clubs will come calling. I’d like him to have at least three seasons before that happens, and it will.
The initial negative reaction to Ange’s appointment shows the fear football fans have of the unknown. There was a similar reaction when Arsene Wenger was appointed Arsenal manager.
Having watched Ange's style raise the standards of the game in Australia both League and national teams I always believed he would be a success in Scotland (but surprised at how quickly). Looking forward now to the competition raising their standards also to keep up as Ange continues to build a stronger and stronger team. Can't wait to see what the next couple of transfer windows hold. Hail Hail
Just catching up Hamish , for some reason I missed this one too , yeah the egotistical jury and the snippets have definitely eaten there words now , and Ange is just going to put us on a Level we’ve never seen before , the big man’s quote ‘ this is only the beginning, simply love the way he handles everything, for me he’s a Top manager Hail Hail 💚🍀🍀
I'm old enough to remember 1998 a Dr Josep Venglos was appointed manager, I thought then WTF who is this guy, then he took in a 33 year old Slovakian for £330,000. I thought even more WTFs. RiP Dr Jo, thank you for a great job, and thank you for the brilliant Lubomir 'Lubo' Moravcik, one of my all time Celtic greats. Anyone for another slice of humble pie?
i had my doubts initally solely because of the lack information and the misinformation that was doing the rounds,Ange has made people eat their words ,looking at his persona if the board get behind this man ,we could have another manager of steins calibre.
Angelos “Ange” Postecoglou may very well be the best thing to come out of Australia since Kylie Minogue’s hot pants because he has all these has beens lining up at the station doing the locomotion riding the Ange train, it’s probably best they stay quite 😂 You can’t blame people for not being able to say his name because in this video alone their are 17 different versions of his name in the closed captions. Highlights being: Ange post to calgo Post to cougar Push to call glue Pasta coglu Ange por Chicago And my personal favourite: bus they could glue 😂
It's embarrassing the way Ange is hailed as the best thing since sliced bread. He's spent £24M. The other 11 Premiership clubs have spent a COMBINED total of £4.4M.
what a lot of absolute rubbish? Taking the transfers both ways into account which is the unbiased way to review this Celtic have spent - £11M to get to where they are i.e. they have an additional £11M in the bank and they have won the league spending less money than any team in Scotland.
Ah Kris "Pablo Escobar" Boyd. I can confirm a girl I worked with grew up with him and showed me a video on her phone of him bending over a table with a rolled up note up his nose. And that was over ten years ago when he was still playing. Any idea what he could have been doing I wonder....???😲😲😲
I follow Celtic and I'm very happy they are doing well under Ange and more importantly playing football the right way. With due respect, we are talking about Scottish football. Scotland is small and relatively poor. Her team hasn't qualified for a World Cup for 25 years. The better players go South and don't play in Scotland. Most of the nonsense about his appointment from the likes of Alan Brazil flows from a bizarrely inflated view of the standard and importance of Scottish football. Someone who has coached Australia at a World Cup and won titles in Japan is overqualified for Celtic, not underqualified.
Aussie fan just with a genuine question for Celtic fans. Now you've witnessed the quality of Ange and the Japanese imports how do you think Celtic would do in the J-league hypothetically? Ange winning that league (and the Asian Cup with Australia) didn't seem to count for much a few months ago.
That’s an interesting question mate. Placing Celtic into a completely new environment such as the J league is intriguing. Having not seen too many Japanese games, the only thing I would say is that the physical aspect of a team from Scottish football would be an advantage, but, other than that, and, based on the current squad, I think they would do fairly well. If Ange, however, recruited more players from that side of the world, then, it could be pretty successful. The J League is a very decent competition, with many good players.
@@JamesBond-si7xs Celtic would always be challenging for silverware in the form they are in atm over there, on last seasons form Celtic would have been relegated from the J-league!...and I'm only half joking.
The quality of the Japan world cup teams of the last 2 decades has been higher than Scotland (understatement) but there's only a handful of Scottish players in the staring 11 these days. Another question arises in how well would the Japanese teams do against Scottish teams other than Celtic and Rangers. Pretty good. (another understatement). Remember critics always speak up. That doesn't mean they are the majority.
The best quote of your video Hamish was in reference to Kris Boyd after you read out his comment and then you said “thanks for that Kris you can go back up now” Very funny mate, made me laugh they way you made that point with serious and straight face 😂😂 Overall really nice video here mate, genuinely interesting to see that from then to now change of landscape and just how poorly many of these ex players judged the great man.
When I left school all my teachers said I would be a nobody useless at every thing I do. Never find love or make money. Unfortunately they were all correct unlike all the expert's on ange 😆
Good analysis of the doomsayers, it is good to know that Ange by his actions can put all the doomsayers in their place. They will be eating their words if they continue to go against big Ange. One good thing is that Ange is a single-minded man who would not be deterred by whingers and he does not suffer fools lightly
Great channel. Another top notch video, but I wish you would go back to the winter break and reevaluate some of the comment by certain people backing Rangers to win the League and some people even making claims that Rangers could go in Beaty the rest of the way.
Recommend that people read his book, it is stuff like these comments that he leans into, to galvanises his resolve. He somehow uses it like a drug to help him manifest his dream of where he wants to take the team. If it is all smooth sailing something is amiss. I can't help but admire his way of walking in the world.
Only us Aussies who were following Ange's career knew he would be successful 💖

But .. did they not sell 27 million and buy 22 million?
Makes me a proud Aussie this.. you wouldn't watch Cricket mate but that also made me immensely proud.. don't ever write us off.
Yasou Ange
Too big for him? Comedy gold. Celtic's not a big job or a challenge.
I kept quiet when he was appointed as everyone deserves a chance, my main concern was the defence as some of the goals lost in those early defeats were shocking so I did fear the worst for the season initially but again was willing to give it but more time and keep quiet, even after the first Rangers game it was clear they weren’t gonna run away with the league, getting CCV and Jota in after that were key, it’s been all gravy since
Gold mate!👏👏👏👏
To be fair, I said many times (especially after the first couple of games) that I thought he was the s come coming of Deila. Never been happier to be proven wrong in my life
Without Deila, Rodgers transition would have been so much more problematic. Don’t be disrespectful.
@@ArthurSymington1 don’t give me your pish, Rodgers took the same players Deila had and made them invincible. Fuck right off
Not only did Hugh Keevins take an unjustified swipe at a manager he knew nothing about, but the whole "now we know what the Ange stands for" has a ring of xenophobia about it.
Xenophobia ? Ffs I love Ange but that's alot of sh*te
@@liamfeely I notice how you haven't offered any evidence to support your claim, or refute mine. Not got the brain cells for it?
What shite are you spouting ?
@@paulgal I see your comment was edited. Which one of those 5 words did you manage to spell wrong? 🤪
@@undercoverbrother67 you’re paranoid sir
A lot of humble pie eaten great show
I knew from the second he was rumoured he would be class.
Hey Hamish!
How. About. Man. In. Screen - Hail!
Love the vids. All the best!
We could see the team was working and scoring it was our defence needed to sharpen up a little, never in doubt 👏🏼
To be fair Hamish...Ange and Kylie Minogues hotpants probably are split only on goal difference for the best things to have come out of Australia! 🤣🤣
He's working (and maybe even living?) in a manor house? Lucky guy! Although, what exactly is a PROFESSIONAL manor?
To be honest, I thought the same. I thought it was just a panic appointment after the collapse of the Eddie Who deal. I didn't know who Ange was. But, after reading about his achievements and watching some interviews on CZcams, I already had a good feeling, even before his first game.
Absolute Gold 😂Hamish
4 months on, these are even funnier
Who’s watching this in December 2022 and just laughing
i`m old enough to remember the Lisbon Lions . Hamish , i have one thing for these former players 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡😎😎😎😎😎😎😎 thanks Hamish from down under 🍀🍀🍀💖💖💖
What I loved about Alan Brazil’s clip was Ally Mccoist laughing in the background. I hear Ally is a big lover of Ange now 🙄😂
Angelos “Ange” Postecoglou may very well be the best thing to come out of Australia since Kylie Minogue’s hot pants because he has all these has beens lining up at the station doing the locomotion riding the Ange train, it’s probably best they stay quite 😂
You can’t blame people for not being able to say his name because in this video alone their are 17 different versions of his name in the closed captions. Highlights being:
Ange post to calgo
Post to cougar
Push to call glue
Pasta coglu
Ange por Chicago
And my personal favourite: bus they could glue 😂
Name :ange postecoglu
Subtitles: range poster ca glue
I’m so glad he’s at Spurs now.COYS.
Ange will be sacked by Christmas...of 2030
Is that a Christmas sack full of trophies 🏅⚽️🎖🏆🥈🥉😇
It's embarrassing the way Ange is hailed as the best thing since sliced bread. He's spent £24M. The other 11 Premiership clubs have spent a COMBINED total of £4.4M.
what a lot of absolute rubbish?
Taking the transfers both ways into account which is the unbiased way to review this Celtic have spent - £11M to get to where they are i.e. they have an additional £11M in the bank and they have won the league spending less money than any team in Scotland.
Hamish, doesn't that stand for... almost made it home after a night oot ? hail hail
Not many of us was expecting much in Europe with the team we had
Ah Kris "Pablo Escobar" Boyd. I can confirm a girl I worked with grew up with him and showed me a video on her phone of him bending over a table with a rolled up note up his nose. And that was over ten years ago when he was still playing. Any idea what he could have been doing I wonder....???😲😲😲
Andy Harper sounds like a classy guy ☘️
He is a great gut, and know his stuff
Haha

I honestly thought Celtic showed themselves up signing Postecoglou. Happy to eat humble pie.
Nice people talking football, what a joy.
Joe Melbourne Aussie
“If a man has character, then it’s easy to judge his deeds”…well I think we know what happened!!😅
I would love to walk past Boyd with a big cheesy grin
The best quote of your video Hamish was in reference to Kris Boyd after you read out his comment and then you said
“thanks for that Kris you can go back up now”
Very funny mate, made me laugh they way you made that point with serious and straight face 😂😂
Overall really nice video here mate, genuinely interesting to see that from then to now change of landscape and just how poorly many of these ex players judged the great man.
hot, attractive, majestic, intriguing, sexy and handsome thats our HAMISH
Haha 🤣
When I left school all my teachers said I would be a nobody useless at every thing I do. Never find love or make money. Unfortunately they were all correct unlike all the expert's on ange 😆
😂😂😂😜
If you had Boyd and Nicholas in the same room they would struggle to have a conversation .
Good analysis of the doomsayers, it is good to know that Ange by his actions can put all the doomsayers in their place. They will be eating their words if they continue to go against big Ange. One good thing is that Ange is a single-minded man who would not be deterred by whingers and he does not suffer fools lightly
StaunchBear1690 🤣🤣🤣
Great channel. Another top notch video, but I wish you would go back to the winter break and reevaluate some of the comment by certain people backing Rangers to win the League and some people even making claims that Rangers could go in Beaty the rest of the way.
Hoops Are Mighty In Supporters Hopes.
There. An acronym for Hamish.
Ex Rangers player Ian Ferguson said at the time that he was worried as Ange was a very good manager
StaunchBear1690 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Recommend that people read his book, it is stuff like these comments that he leans into, to galvanises his resolve. He somehow uses it like a drug to help him manifest his dream of where he wants to take the team. If it is all smooth sailing something is amiss. I can't help but admire his way of walking in the world.
