- It was a day tailor-made for Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton to carry the SPFL trophy out on to the hallowed turf of Paradise as 60,000 diehard Celts looked on in a mixture of tears, smiles and a happily familiar sense of déjà vu to bring the curtain down on a truly remarkable season.
After skipper, Callum McGregor spoke to the crowd, the entire East End and beyond could hear the stupendous roar that greeted manager Ange Postecoglou when he emerged from the tunnel to address the supporters.
And, once the singing eventually died down, the clearly moved manager who looked on the verge of breaking down in tears couldn’t have put it any better when he proclaimed:
'Champions - that’s who we are!'
He added: “I just want to thank everyone involved, the board management,” and pointing over at his fellow backroom Bhoys in the middle of the pitch, he added, “I’ve got the best staff in the land - unbelievable effort.
“I’ve got a group of players who have been unbelievable.
“Champions of Scotland and well deserved.”
And the Aussie who could see scores of Australian flags and specially adapted cork slouch hats dotted around the stadium said of the amazing Celtic support:
'And for you, the best on the planet - unbelievable.'
“You’ve embraced me, you’ve embraced my family, you’ve embraced this jumper,” he said tugging at his trademark matchday Celtic pullover.
“And I want everyone to enjoy today, enjoy the summer, and we'll come back, bigger, better - because we WE NEVER STOP.”

@@envy77 I'm not sure why celtic have been so poor in europe for so many years now? They had the opportunity to push on with it whilst Rangers were out of the league but they just didn't. It's even more amazing that Rangers are now already back in a European final.
The fans are saying everything here.. this is almost unheard of from celtics fans.. they are genuinely right behind ange in every way... that singing before he even spoke is goosbumps.. ange musta been so emotional man.. i was watching it all unfold.. over the season and then that day.. watched plenty special moments at paridise but this one stands out like a sore thumb as a defining moment in the clubs history.. not sure what next season holds but man.. i and the fans are all in.

I was born in Troon St. near Paradise. As a wee boy I remember seeing Father McLaren, our priest from Our Lady of Fatima, jogging with the Lisbon Lions. I live in Austria now and thanks to Celtic TV I can watch my team and Ange. I can‘t wait for the Bhoys to come here in July and catch a glimpse of their glory. Hail Hail !!

A season for the ages. A day to remember. Kyogo 2 Turnbull 1 Jota 1 Giakoumakis 2 in half an hour as a substitute. Motherwell 0. Rogic, Bitton, Emotions high.The cup, The Fans, the written off team and manager Spetember last year, injuries back then, no depth, amazing recruiting, existing players written off suddenly playing out of their skin, a club that went from a under the wrath of the fans to having them fall in love with it again. They never stop supporting the club. The team never stop in training and on the pitch. A captain that never stops. What a difference Ange has made who's vision never stops, all done without arrogance but humility and so many more stories that could never be imagined just months ago nor written for a Hollywood movie. So much has been made right. Hail Hail !!

Fantastic achievement. I’ve been an Ange (and Celtic) fan for a long time even though he never coached my team Sydney FC. Truly a great coach and for those critics out there, this was no fluke. There will be more success providing the club hierarchy backs Ange. He won’t hang around if they don’t, as what happened with the national team. I love the way he has been accepted by the club and supporters. The first person who comes up with an Ange teddy bear will make a fortune.

928 S4 5.0L V8 .. Very nice vehicle, both had the badges stolen which pi***d me right off so I made the 928's so I could just remove it and put it back on - bit of a bug bare but saved the screwdriver brigade from damaging the fronts further

Part 1 of the rebuild complete, normal service resumed, now onto phase 2...
Still need about 9 players of first team quality to bulk up this squad!
We need to buy the best players who've come through the ranks at Scottish clubs(with a Scottish club for 3 years between the ages of 15-21), to meet the UEFA Champions League squad 8 player mandate - 4 players minimum from the clubs own Academy, the remainder of 8 from the national leagues clubs.
We already have a good few players who meet these UEFA requirements, but obviously we'd want to improve wherever possible.
We can always fill our Champions League 'B' Squad with Academy players(born year 2000 onwards) outwith these 8.
From what I've seen, we still need 'at least':
1 x Goalkeeper
1 x Left Back
2 x Centre Back
1 x Centre Midfielder
1 x Right Midfielder
1 x Left Forward/Winger
1 x Right Forward/Winger
1 x Centre Forward
For me, I'm looking at:
McGregor & Ralston as 2 definites who've came through the Academy... Forrest, given his new contract, probably makes the squad too, despite his lack of playing time to date under Ange?
Taylor & Turnbull as 2 definites who've came through Scottish clubs youth ranks...McCarthy, like Forrest, possibly makes up the numbers here too?
Of the rest of the current senior squad, we've got:
Johnston; Bain; ...and Welsh to choose from, though we could sneak Welsh into the 'B' squad given his age, leaving room in the 'A' squad for another player who's come through a Scottish clubs ranks.
Whether Ange decides to sign 'Scottish raised' players to replace some of the above, or not, we'll soon discover...
Other than those players mentioned already, our best squad imo would be:
GK: Hart
RB: Juranovic
CB: Starfelt
CM: Ideguchi
LM: Hatate
RM: O'Riley
LF: Maeda
RF: Abada
CF: Kyogo + Giakoumakis
...which is a little on the thin side, being only 10 international players, plus 9 home raised players.
I've left out other players in our current squad as they don't seem to be part of Ange's long term plans given their lack of playing time to date.
I think Bain and McCarthy could be on their way out, along with Jullien, Bolingoli, Ajeti, Barkas, Soro...which would free up squad places and cash for the manager, and would also provide a possible opportunity for Academy players to step up and fill the void to meet the required UEFA 8!?
All that said, i trust Ange to get the job done, and given his signings to date, and their performances, results and success, we know the clubs future is in good hands!
