Ange deceived no one. He had no contract, left the club in a far better state and left to manage in the best league in the world. End of story.
Agree with everything, except he had a rolling contract, so he did have a contract. With that said, it's football and he would have been a fool to turn Spurs down. May never have gotten another opportunity like that.

But to talk about leaving a legacy or building for europe while you are talking to another club for months is a bad look. All the chest pumping and playing to the fans makes him look fake when the same day he is sneaking out the backdoor to sign for spurs. If he had said weeks before the cup final he was leaving instead of avoiding the question then i think people would have respected him more.

If Ange is hypocritical then what is the decision to reappoint a manager that jumped ship midway through the season? I thought Rogers was the devil?
If Ange didn’t go to Spurs to test his abilities and push the boundaries ( which is what he asks from his players and staff) then you would have no respect for him.
If Ange has lost three games in a row next season the same fans who are bagging him now would have been baying for his blood. The same fans who mocked him on appointment as likely as not. Fortunately, most Celtic fans understand exactly why Ange has left and why he had to be circumspect about leaving before the last big game. I also suspect the club knew about his conversations with Tottenham and probably wanted him to keep mum about it. The treble was the focus, as it should have been. Suggesting Ange doesn’t love Celtic is patent nonsense. But he has always encouraged people to better themselves, and the EPL is his next step in getting better. I’ve never liked the sense of entitlement of certain Celtic fans. Mind you, I’m encountering a few already on Spurs sites. ✅

I’ve believe that Ange’s emotion and love for Celtic was/is genuine. He seems the type of guy who, while he’s in charge, is 100% invested. But in life and business when massive opportunities and challenges come your way, you would be an idiot not to take it on, no matter how much you feel for your current and safe little job. As for keeping it quiet. Imagine the uproar and backlash and distraction if he said something before the biggest game in Celtic year…..not a smart move. No win situation. Good luck Ange.
I admired Ange for keeping it secret. Players can focus on the treble, but the players knew. One of the players said "It's not for me to say when interviewed after the game. Plus Fans can celebrate. That was the most emotional I have seen Ange. I suspected Ange was gone when Rogers was sitting with the CEO at a game a few weeks earlier.
