    16GB RAM in an almost $2k laptop? 32GB DDR5/5600 is about $120 at retail, there's no excuse for less than 32GB on a 'pro' level machine, especially if it's soldered in.

    i have a Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 for 2 years and is going strong. I put a matt screen plastic protector but it started to eat the nib. Searching on the internet i found out that the Spen and the Wacom One(the one with display, in black and white) has the same pen tech and they work with each other. So i have use that pen from ONE with the plastic matt screen protector. It still has some resistance but not so much because the nib is a hard plastic. But it has been good so far and the screen will never get scratches.

      Get yourself a book g2 x4 pen - it's the same tech and they can take felt nibs and a friend of mine found that he could put Wacom felt nibs in tto. Haven't tried that yet - I still have plenty original HP felt nibs left.

      I think I heard the Wacom One are not too good, about the worst line of product in Wacom. But can't remember if the issues were due to the pens, or the screens provided in the ONE line. If it's on the screens, then there should be no problem in using such pen on this laptop. If I am not wrong, Samsung tablets (maybe it's same tech with these Samsung laptops, I strongly suspect that) work well with any Wacom EMR based pen, so, not necessarily a Wacom ONE (there are a ton of brands, non Wacom, with Wacom EMR tech, like the Lamy AL Star ( I have this one that I got for my Samsung Galaxy tab S7 FE, and is even more sensitive, quite, more subtle, than the default S Pen). And it's 30 bucks :)

My only gripe was that the screen has cracks from travelling, but that can be remedied by buying a good case before taking a flight or so. All in all, I love it, and I'm curious about the newest version!

      I don't know if it was your case but this model off laptop has history off crack screens from probably overheating. There are a lot of customers complaining that their screens cracked for no reason , I don't think that a protective case will solve the problem, and in those cases Samsung claimed that it was user error and charge for changing this screen.

    No 32GB RAM option on the Pro360 will be a deal-breaker for many pro users (along with no dGPU). Samsung has done this to upsell to the Ultra but that has no pen support. The 360 should not be compared to Macbooks as they do not offer touch let alone pen support! So, comparisons with Dell, HP, LG, and Lenovo would be sensible. It is a premium laptop so the price as expected is very high but comparable though nearer the top-end of premium 2-in-1s rather than the cheaper end. Should be up there when choosing a 2-in-1.

    Have you had the chance to explore other 2-in-1 laptops, such as the ROG Flow X16 or MSI Summit E16? As a 3D artist, I'm seeking a 2-in-1 laptop with robust GPU power, and I've noticed these models boasting an RTX VGA, which seems ideal for my profession. However, I'm uncertain about the quality of the stylus pen. I hope you have the opportunity to review 2-in-1 laptops with high-performance GPUs. :)

      I have the X13 2021 version and the only drawback is that in tablet mode it automatically limits the amount of power that cpu and gpu can provide and it is due to the lack of ventilation caused by the screen blocking the air intake at the bottom of the laptop. I'm pretty sure the same thing happens to the X16 version. Speaking of the pen, I have one from Renaisser, they have several pretty good models and at an affordable price, another one I've read that is good is one from Metapen M2.

    • @YeahRightMCD
      @YeahRightMCD Před 2 měsíci +1

      We have a previous model of the S6 Lite. If you're new to digital drawing, it's the best value, hands down. The pen functions as it should (packaged in for free), and it can do all the things a tablet should do. It goes on sale like 3 or 4 times a year. We got ours for like $280, which is crazy cheap for the experience.
      *BUT* if you're looking to be a professional digital artist, you'll almost definitely need something more powerful. Layer count is limited by the RAM. Also, heavy photo editing, video editing, and animation will do much better on a more powerful device.
      I'm a value-oriented person, and I can't recommend running Procreate on the iPad Air enough. $20, one time, for an amazing program is the best way to avoid a subscription service just to get good at digital art.
      Happy drawing 😃

    Hi! Does the screen wobble if you have it on your lap and you type? I mean using as laptop, not trying to draw or anything, just type. Im more interested in the touchscreen only in the full tablet mode so what you showed is not necessarily a dealbreaker for me, even tho it's a bit concerning.

  • @thegochie

    I was considering the Samsung Book 3 360 last year, but went with a way cheaper Lenovo 7i that had a dedicated Arc GPU. The active pen actually works really well and I'm happy with it.

    The non pro at 1100 looking like a nice deal. Can install pro software like in any Windows or Mac, that's a huge plus. The S Pen non wobble lines and feel, and surely you can use any Wacom EMR compatible pen. Oh, and the secondary screen (using a samsung tablet as such), even if not super well sync, would rock for looking at references while doing a project.

  • @robinbrigstocke8121
    @robinbrigstocke8121 Před 2 měsíci

    I have a Book3, and it's a great laptop, but I thought I should mention a couple of things. The S-pen does not have a programmable side button. I like to use the side button as a right click and the s-pen only allows you to use it to open certain programs and whatnot, so that hampers the useability of the pen, which is otherwise great. Also, the second screen function with Galaxy Tabs can be used with any Windows computer, not just Samsung computers. I am disappointed to hear that the Arc GPU doesn't have more of an effect on performance. I'd heard good things about the Arc, and I was hoping for more. The graphics performance is the one thing that I find really lets me down compared to the Yoga 720 with an nVidia 950gtx that I had previously.

      If you don't need the lightest most portable drawing device, I would recommend getting a decent gaming laptop (usable for 3d and other stuff too), and a 16" screen tablet like a Huion or XP Pen. Cheaper than this product and more versatile. But, it's not all in one, since you do have that extra screen. Just make sure it has USB with DisplayPort or Thunderbolt if you need an extra screen. I wish I could say there was a solid value proposition here, but there just isn't. Android does phones better, but as soon as any of the droid companies make a device that's bigger than a Samsung Note, all of the value seemingly disappears.
    For the same price someone can get an iPad Air for drawing, and a PC that can handle real work AND real gaming 🤷

    Shame they didn't do a 13.3 or a 14inch. The 16 is just a little too big. Plus they should've done a version with a rtx 4070 or 4050. Love that pen.

    Looks like a nice laptop for drawing. For me no point in the Micro SD Card Slot. I use an iPhone. Maybe Samsung or other android phones use Micro SD Card Slots that would be an advantage. One thing that may be a concern for drawing is needing the keyboard while in drawing position. Would need an external keyboard. No big deal. I still would prefer the duo drawing laptops like the Asus Zenbook Duo though the needs is still for a great pen and looks like the S-Pen is good enough. Hopefully Samsung will come out with a Duo Screen Laptop that can also have all the capabilities of the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360.

    I have a question to Brad or could anyone here whose drawing tablets expectis like him okay. So im not a drawing pro i just draw, sometimes as hobby but as for tablets and computers i like high speeds tech like apple but im considering later (thinking about it) in life buying a starter pack per say of a really drawing tablet (doesnt need to be pro) but like a xp pen or cintiq or huion all by 14 or 16 inch so the question/debate is which one is better most recommended and takes mac os? Thank youu!

      Both the latest XP-pen and Huion tablets are really good on the Mac. It comes down to what size or features you need or can afford.

    For windows go to Control Panel/ device manager. Disable touch. Now you can draw without worrying about palm rejection.

    • @thebradcolbow
      @thebradcolbow  Před 2 měsíci +3

      Yeah, but that disables ALL touch. What many android apps do is disable touch only when the pen is in use to cut down on extra marks.

    If you are a student this laptop cost just 1,199.99. So, is definetely worth it. I bought thr first Flex made by Samsung and it was a GREAT laptop BUT! HINGES ARE THRASH. After two years of use they stop working and destroy the screen. I bought a new screen and the experience was worst, it last a year or less..

    16Gb or RAM? Too bad, I'm out of here, that's only half of that I need for my art. Looks great, specs seem decent and having Intel Arc is nice, just a bit more power than the regular intel graphics. For the price there should really be 32Gb in it. I'll stick to Lenovo, they work very well and you pay less for good specs and choices. Their pens are surprisingly good. Sure not as lightweight as the s-pen, but they work well.

    I wouldn't like the wobbly screen and having to charge it using a usb c port to do it. It's kikd of a waste of a usb port. It whould have a plug in to charge it. as it is i would need more ports so i could connect the things i have connected to my laptop now which is a HP. The fan is pretty loud too. I would like to get a samsung though as i have other samsung devices. ... phone and tablet. A

    Too much money for a mediocre notebook. For 2499 euros (that's how much I paid for my SGB 4 Pro 360) there are significantly better alternatives. Therefore, think carefully about whether you want to buy such an overpriced device. Unfortunately, I missed my return deadline and unfortunately have to keep the SGB 4 Pro 360 or sell it at a loss.

      For windows laptop the Galaxy Book has the best drawing experience for 360 laptops, i agree with the price being too much because the configuration options aren’t worth getting for the price they offer. And thus I chose Ipad Pro and now used affinity designer to do my work.

    • @surrcram
      @surrcram Před 18 dny

      It's worth the price if it fits what you need. A portable machine that has a superior drawing experience as well as carrying a slew of windows programs and apps.
      As a laptop, its only decent, and you can't reliably game on it. Personally, I'm waiting on an ARM version of a 360 galaxy book.

    There are THREE glaring things that keep me from considering these:
    1) Lack of a 32 GB RAM option. As someone who's a 30+ year Professional Graphic Designer who uses Adobe Products, 16GB especially for a "PRO" model is not good enough. It will never be.
    2) Windows 11 Home. A "PRO" version should have a "PRO" operating system. This is just total bullshit on Samsung's part.
    3) This last one is cosmetic, but that awful large chin on the bottom of the screen is absolutely useless and serves no purpose except highlighting Samsung's poor design. They really need to get rid of it. It's not on their phones or tablets, so it contrasts with their design language.
    EXTRA CREDIT: The price is outrageous!!!
    I have a Dell XPS 7390 2-in-1, 10th Gen i7, 4K with 32GB of RAM, and the thing is still really good. The Dell Premium Active Pen - PN579X is also a Wacom Stylus and it works very good, but honestly it's not the S-Pen. I'm thinking about the new ASUS Duo with the two 3K OLED panels. It comes with 32GB of RAM, Ultra 9, a stylus and other extras for the exact same price. I'm not familiar with the ASUS Stylus with Microsoft's Pen Protocol (MPP) 2.0. so we'll see...

    Hey man, I just bought a book4 pro 360 for 1899.00 us. A week into using it and the dual window and android experience is a nightmare. The s pen destroyes text editing. I have a s8+ and the s pen text editing is a breeze, but on the book4 I have ruined several docs with wild s pen text editing. The touch pad is ok and the screen is wonderful. That said, getting this as a tablet device is really painful. The tablet keyboard is huge and the way it covers over half of the document is just ridiculous. The book4 is a solid piece of hardware with an amazing screen. However the whole s pen editing is a joke. I really can't recommend this to anyone without feeling bad.
