- Queensland LNP senator Barry O’Sullivan made a slur against Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young in the Senate yesterday. In retaliation, Greens leader Richard Di Natale called O’Sullivan a 'pig' and then refused to withdraw his comments. Hanson-Young then gave a fiery speech calling out the men she said had 'slut-shamed' her, including Fraser Anning and Cory Bernardi

No they are not. Men and women are not equal when you look at the physical capabilities and that is fine. Men do what they do best and women do what they do best, preferebly without harming another human being. That is how our society works. The women you are reffering to are those who want a job because of their gender. Those women won't be successful as a ceo, just as much as a men won't be successful as a ceo, if he doesn't put the work in it. A man aswell as a Women will be successful, if they put the effort and the work into it, it's just much more common that men are willing to sacrifice all of their lifetime to becoming successful , whereas women tend to focus their private life more (generally speaking ofcourse there are always exceptions).

Women wear makeup for us. I wear makeup (or don’t) when I debate or when I deliver speeches because it makes me feel beautiful, not for those who’ll see me to comment on it. In the same way, if I see a man put effort into their appearance, while it might be appreciated, I will have the common decency to understand that decision was made for himself and it’s certainly not something to be commented on in a speech about sexism (because one of the biggest underlining problems of sexism is the belief that “stunning” women can’t be “brave” or “brilliant” - and thus the comment of the OP).

You don't really need to know in the first place. People yelled about their own issues and got angry, that is about all that happens.
Just the creepy insinuation from the first guy was enough to give a picture of how slimy the work environment must be. “A bit of Xenophon in her”, is a sexual innuendo about a bit of his anatomy in her! He even had the cheek to emphasize it by noting it can be taken as a ‘double entendre’ but pretending he didn’t mean it, so that he could withdraw it when everyone else called him out on it. He thought he was being so clever and subtle. But it’s still disgusting to say in a parliament and work environment.
