- Build fun circuits! Impress your friends! (Or at least the ones who aren't in-the-know ;) Here's a voice-activated light switch that provides the illusion of a more advanced artificial intelligence, with the simplicity of "the clapper". www.analogzoo.com/2016/10/a-vo...

Thumbs up for preferring IC over uC :)
amazing and timely video. i was wondering this morning when a new video would be out! as always i admire your decision to stick with analog only!
Thanks! Hopefully I'm back on a more regular video release schedule now. :)
Simple is always good...I turn the two 4' dual fluorescent shop lights over my workbench on/off using a pair of those cheap remote RF activated Xmas tree/decoration light switches you see around the holidays. They both work from the same signal so I simply stuck a remote activator at both ends of the 8' bench; usually impresses folks more than it should when they visit the radio shack! And keeping a couple of extra ones handy are really useful when you need to temporarily turn a AC device on and off when they're out of reach.
The dynamic delay really makes it appear smart!
Very cool project! However I'm thinking even easier....a foot/knee switch...done! :) Regards ~ Jack, VEG
Very cool
Hm, states requirement (turn light off without having to take off probes from circuit), starts building solution that has as a "feature" thats the exactly opposite... hm... ^^
Sweet
it helped to think of Q3 & Q4 as an NMOS AND gate.
Yep, if Q3 AND Q4 are on, then the capacitor is discharged!
13:30 Thug Life ;)
Turn off those lights off!
