  • On March 18, 2021, Richard Rothstein, a Fellow with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund's Thurgood Marshall Institute and an Economic Policy Institute Research Associate, joined Dean Darby Dickerson for the Dean's Conversation Series. Mr. Rothstein's book, The Color of Law, is a critical indictment of American government's role-at the federal, state, and local levels-in perpetuating de facto segregation by not only ignoring but encouraging racist practices in the residential sphere. Their discussion explored these housing practices in detail and how decades of Black housing disenfranchisement has furthered the disparity of privilege in America.
