- From the Film Australia Collection. Made by the Commonwealth Film Unit 1961.
An account of the part cricket plays in Australian life, showing facilities for learning the game and highlights from famous matches. Narrated by former Australian Captain Victor Richardson. Today’s players as well as players from the past, like Bradman, O’Reily, Miller, Lindwall and Oldfield are shown playing or coaching. Young cricket enthusiasts learn the game at school and can progress to competitive matches if they show promise. Later, they may be selected for a national team. Filmed during the 1960 / 61 series between Australia and the West Indies. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
When Australia was at its finest. And so was Cricket.
I wish I could go back to those days
Plato said "beware the man who worships the past and not the future".
Maybe, many years from now, when the last remaining rights of Australians are about to be taken away, things will finally change for the better, and personal rights and real freedom will come back to Australians. The happiest people are truly free and may own whatever they wish and do as they please, so long as their actions do not actually interfere with the rights of other citizens. And happy people are better at cricket, and those other sports, too.
Same here. Not the same cricket, not the same country.
Thank god for world series cricket.
Alex Carey did nothing wrong
What happened?? I’m from America 🇺🇸
Great 👍 video now just getting to understand the game.
Glad you enjoyed it
17.39 ,does that young boy from S Aust look familiar to anyone?
Don Bradman and Victor Richardson didn’t seem to hate each other as much as people have tried to make out over the years.
2:00 lol look at the players running for there lives 🤣🤣🤣 90000 at the G when melbournes population was around 1.8 mil .. incredible.
The schoolboy cricketer sitting on the bench at 17.41 looks a lot like Greg Chappell.
Souvenirs? They're like locusts. I remember swarming the WACA in the 70's to get autographs.
Can you upload vintage Play School episodes from the 1960s and 1970s?
Hi, you would need to talk to the ABC about that show.
7:28 , a young Doug Walters
17:36 young Greg Chappell?
7:28 Young Doug Walters?
17:39 that looks like a young Greg Chappell😮
Quite likely, as his grandfather (Victor Richardson) is the narrator.
I stopped the vid when I saw him to see if anyone else noticed. S.A, badge, those cheek bones. Gotta be him.
