Thanks! The odd videos will continue along with Live Streams through Christmas and the New Year. There will be some stuff in January but typically things pick up steam in February! I've got A LOT of work to get done in the New Year so I'll most likely be busy with that stuff. :)

I've actually been to Tasmania. Here's my advice should you decide to go:
1: Come loaded with a very full wallet. The whole state is an expensive tourist trap.
2: Don't do what I did and drink two chocolate milks back to back before getting on the boat. Trust me on that one.
If you are going to Tasmania bring something warm.

But seriously, the Game Gear Tazmania theme makes Rocky & Bullwinkle NES theme sound like Pink Floyd.
Actually cannot believe how many Taz Mania ports there are :O I never knew there were so many. The only Taz game I've played is 'Taz Wanted!' on the Playstation 2 :D It's a pretty fun platforming game where you run around through levels smashing Wanted signs with Taz's face on it and avoiding Zookeepers. Yosemite Sam captures you and his girlfriend, but Taz escapes and he has to try and save her :P You should definitely check it out, I believe it came out on Playstation 2, Nintendo Gamecube and Xbox :) Great video as usual Jak
I used to own Taz Wanted but I’m thinking of getting the game back for GameCube since my PS2 disc for the game is fucked up.
Being a Tasmanian resident, i can assure that the landscapes in this game are incorrect haha.
Nothing like a stroll through the desert on the one night a year it isn't raining! ;)
My introduction to Taz as a character was Bugs Bunny and Taz Time Busters. And I remember absolutely addicted to that game. I really hope you cover that in the future. 😁

Holy beJesus, and to think that back in the day, when I was trying to collect Looney tunes video games, I was ready to start saving up for a megadrive just to play Taz-Mania.... I'm so glad I broke my leg back then, which obviously lead me to spend money on medical treatment. Good. Because otherwise I would have been far more traumatized xD

Taz Wanted is actually a pretty good game. It has its problems, but it was enjoyable with varied locations and objectives.
Every episode is like a Christmas gift to me. Because it's always something to look forward to and it's top quality entertainment

Merry Christmas. As soon as i saw the Genesis Taz-Mania i knew we were in for some trouble lol I rented that game when it came out and it sucked. Never knew there were so many ports.
Ok Jak, that's enough Taz the Tasmanian Devil for you LOL The ending segment was just sad, the worst thing that can happen to a kid on Christmas thinking they're getting some awesome big thing only for it to be something like that lol Anyway, this was a great year for your channel I think, lots of fun and memorable projects you released though I'm curious to hear what you have to say in your yearly recap video whenever you get around to it. Cheers and onwards for 2019.
I feel sorry for the kid who owned a Game Gear or a Game Boy and had the pleasures of 2/10's for Christmas.

Not gonna lie, I actually had fond memories of Taz-Mania on the Genesis/Mega Drive as a kid. It was weird and different, but I was able to get thru most of it, MOST of it. And yeah, the sound design is absolutely weird, especially you make a sound every time you land.

I had the snes one. Never really knew what was doing and always ended up swapping in donkey Kong or mega man x lol. Hope have a happy holidays man!
It's weird, you boot it up and it's pretty much straight into the gameplay. No story, no tutorial. You gotta have the box or the manual, hate games like that. Not hard to tell me what to do inside of the game.
But yeah, DKC shits all over this. I've love to try the Mega Man X game but the SNES ones are WAY expensive.

I actually vaguely remember the first Game Boy Taz-Mania. The game disappeared on me a very long time ago, and I forgot about it until this video. Looks exactly like how I remember it.
Maybe I'll have to get a copy and play it again, but it's doubtful.
The first one Taz-mania/Island Chase was actually pretty decent for what it is. Has problems of course but I easily had the most fun with that one.

Haven't really seen many people talk about the disaster that was Taz-Mania on Genesis. Funny enough, it was one of the few games I owned on my Genesis as kid, along with Captain America and The Avengers (if you find the time, try it out, it's monumentally bad in a fun way), so I certainly have a lot of memory with it; whenever I'd rage quit at Sonic 2, I'd play Taz-Mania, only to lose my shit at the minecart stage. I think I didn't actually beat the minecart stage until I was at least 16, and even then, I don't think I actually finished the entire game until I was 20, and I was like, "Well, even younger me would have thought this ending was bullshit..."
There's a certain charm to the awful sound design, though, and there's that special moment in my childhood of making that leap of faith on the tree/cactus stage where the music pauses and you hear the "BWWWWWwwwwaaaaawww..." of your jump before the boss if you take the right side of the stage for some goodies - I honestly do that sound pause every time I've played it since, just for a little smile, haha.
One thing I have to mention, and, well, you're not missing a whole lot on this HOT SECRET, from a game made in '92 that's objectively pretty shit: on the ice level, I've seen and heard people get confused about the sound glitch at the end. What you do, before you run to the exit, there's that one sinking ice block: let yourself fall down there, and there's a ton of goodies, and for some reason, the designers put a ton of exit signs on the way out; if you actually spin back and forth on the exit signs, before making it to the last one, you can completely spam the exit sound clip... I was a bored kid...
Loved the review, and the production quality of this one. Not in a bad way, but it reminded me of the Crazy Castle review by AVGN, which had me smiling through the whole thing. Happy late Christmas and New Year, you glorious bastard. :)
