Looking back on this episode almost 6 years later, I can easily say that this one of my favorite Square Eyed Jak videos of all time! I remember watching it for the first time when it was brand new and at the time, I hadn’t watched a SEJ episode in a few months or so. So I was really in for a treat with this one. The whole energy and vibe you gave off here was like nothing I had ever seen in a review before and I love it! You really knocked it out of the park with this episode! This was literally my first skateboard game as a kid and I absolutely loved it! Played the shit out of this and thought it was the best thing 🤣 I randomly remembered it the other night after wondering what skateboarding game I used to play for years.

If you're a ps1 nerd, yes its worth adding to your collection. If you're a graphics freak obviously you'll hate it.

I cant lie, I love this game. Story, atmosphere, and depite similar gameplay through out it highly polished, satisfying, and fun. I get your gripes for sure, and Indont think they're entirely unwarrented, but this game is a modern era classic that will be looked upon fondly when im 60 years old.

For Christmas THIS year (2024) I'd like you to play Freedom Fighters on PS2 (or whatever console it's on) by IO interactive (the same blokes and Lasses who made the Hitman series) It's good, but not the best game, and it's aged kinda poorly. I think it's a bit unfair to conflate business practices with the quality of the game. Yeah some games are predatory now, but that's a company decision. A lot of games shine bright despite that. Yeah there are exceptions, but Overwatch, assassin's creed Odyssey, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War Ragnarok are all good games. That's said I am a huge fan of Physical Media. I don't like the "online only" way we're going.

Something that i think would have been better was if the hub worlds in riptos rage and year of the dragon had enemies in them like the first game. i like the hub worlds but they do feel a bit empty

Sentinel Beach and Forbidden Jungle are excellent early-game levels. The former lets you work more with the controls and mechanics and also lets you explore to your heart's content; the latter is all about connecting itself to various other locations in the game. These are definite standouts when it comes to early-game levels. Something else to note: the rotating twin platforms in the Lost Precursor City did not actually originate from the Precursor Legacy. From my knowledge, Gex: Enter the Gecko on PS1 implemented these platforms first.
