The most expensive games on steam are all scams
#CallMeKevin #Funny #Gaming - Hry
Game creators are probably like "Holy shit, someone actually bought this crap". Then Kevin hits them with the refund
Like a slap in the face from the asshole that is reality.
gotta be honest tho, as someone working on Indie game development "you have made me sad with this product" feels worse than the refund.
@@whiteday26 Yeah, that one hit different. My smile vanished when I saw that.
Making games isn't for the faint of hearts. You put yourself out there, you're bound to get shot down... Noone can be so delusional that they'd price their shitty games that high, though. It's almost so bad it makes me think there's something illegal going on like money laundering.

I hate to steal but I have to start using that last sentence
@@danitho lmao go for it, i'm glad to see it put to good use
I used steam refunds so much it is great to try a game for 2 hours before committing to the game.
I'd love to see what Steam support thinks when they see that Kevin bought all these expensive games, and then immediately asks for refunds on all of them. That must be a fun one to explain.
@Depp did.. did you copy the right link?

I very much doubt that he played them for long, they probably won't ask shit
My anxiety was through the roof watching Kevin spend that kind of money on such poor quality games but then at the end when he said he has a lot of refunds to do, I swear I felt every muscle in my body unclench. Thank god for refunds.
My anxiety went like that when I thought Kevin was going to buy the 10k one
steam refund is great. as long as you play under 2 hours within 14 days, you can refund the game
I agree but one thing to add is that steam gets angry if you refund games too often
@YOU I am curious why translating your comment into English turns your Russian flag into the Union Jack.
to be fair Kevins a millionaire he probably didn't even notice the difference in his bank balance
Kevin " I'm not one to encourage gambling."
also Kevin, every time he plays bitlife "let's go to the casino!"
and betting on the horses in san andreas
Honestly!đ€Ł
And that one time he played one of the dead rising games and spent thousands of dollars. I think he's just addicted lol
At least he hates his casino visits đ
I mean, if you look at his bitlife series, you might start having a phobia of any mention of casinos, just from the sheer amount of times a great bitlife from Kevin was ruined by gambling.

Iâm literally trying to find someone that has and I canât even find the games or the guy who made them on google đ€Ł I need to know what makes them so expensive đ
Actually checked the Russian steam and those games are 82 and 30 roubles accordingly. Maybe the developer really hates whatever country Kevin is from.
Salabar maybe they think western people are dumb enough to buy?
As an indie developer, it always brings me joy watching youtube videos of really bad games. Every time I feel nervous that my Unreal Engine 5 game isn't going well, I see stuff like this and remember how low the bar really is on Steam. Like, as long as what I make is better than "The Island of Dr. Yepstein", I shouldn't have anything to worry about.
Itâs like a movie director watching Ed Wood movies

Thankfully all steam games refunds are automatically accepted if it's recently brought and you played under 2hours.
How does Steam even allow this?
@@drakemallard1486 Because Steam is designed for indie developers and other people who just donât have the connections or assets for a spot in Epic Games for example.. however with that title comes some âdevelopersâ like these losers that take advantage of a lightly moderated platform that has to stay lightly moderated in order to stay a safe haven for indie developers
@@username2323 It wouldn't hurt Steam to do a little quality control.
I like how the CZcams algorithm decided Kevin wasn't playing The Island of Dr.Yepstein, but was actually playing Far Cry.
I donât see what you mean, that was very clearly Far Cry!
Would love to see Kevin play The Advisor or The Testing Chamber. They're a really great mix between personality tests and RPGs.
They sound like perfect games for Kevin.
@Jack murphy you're funny how polite you are in the comments
The high prices are set so that you WONâT buy these games) Iâve heard about this before, when a newbie dev wants to test how their unfinished game performs on steam, they set the price high, so that noone buys it or plays it except them. Thats why one of descriptions said âDO NOT BUYâ.
While I love Kevin taking a plunge for us, I cannot help but feel disgusted with the fact that Steam doesn't seem to remove these obvious scams from their platform...
In regards to some comments about "free platform/free market", I would like to remind everyone that even selling a product has to be done according to laws, I'm pretty sure these obvious scams go against a few, I'm not 100% certain on American laws, but seeing as even third world countries have such laws, they probably do too.
Thank you for your time.
Yeeeah I know you can't really evaluate a games worth objectively but if a game is blatantly broken, extremely short or is clearly a mobile game copied from elsewhere there should be a pretty hard limit for how much it can be sold for.
Because the reality is there's people out there who will buy them and make videos like this for laughs only they won't get refunds and that means these shitty "developers" will still make a profit they don't deserve in the slightest.
@YOU This is what the reply says in google translate: "hold on soldiers đŹđ§.."
@@CatBacon itâs a bot lol
@@mrcheesemunch Why wouldn't they get refunds...?
I mean, everyone is allowed to make and sell what they want at a price they choose. And people are allowed to buy what they like. If someone looks at these games with those price tags and isn't smart enough to know it isn't worth it, then that's a fault of theirs, not the developers. Everyone should make responsible purchases at their own discretion. If they don't, that's on them the way I see it. Also, if someone DOES spend that much money on a game, clearly they're loaded financially anyway and probably wouldn't miss the money if they were disappointed with the game they got lol

"thank god for the steam refund option" said kevin after buying those games
It'd be hilarious if Steam started adding a secret extra screen (that the developer's accounts don't see) saying "this is probably a scam game, are you sure you want to buy it?". Start identifying trash devs and silently marking them, let them struggle to refute it.
At that point they'd be better off just removing them from the platform
@@Stettafire Deleting or banning lets the scammer know they need to make another account, slightly jumble things around, and re-upload. Silently warning customers or otherwise taking traffic away can go under the scammer's radar, meaning they stay unaware there's a problem or what the problem is for a long time. Sometimes social media does this with bot accounts and problematic people -- the lower their score, the more they're simply isolated to be with each other instead of visible to the rest of the world. The scammer won't necessarily know what's wrong, unlike a hard break event like a ban.

Well, now I feel infinitely better about every purchase I've ever made on Steam. Thanks, Kevin. You're a real lad.
i assure you the last one was a decimal typo by the developer, especially considering the prices of all the other games, and they just werent bothered to fix it
That makes sense, it was probably supposed to be 3,99âŹ, and ironically it was still the best game he tried in this video.
Kevin's steam reviews are always my favourite parts of these videos
I'm actually disappointed he didn't show the reviews for Derelict. I put a lot of effort into the update log review for that game!
To clarify: The game wasn't always $200 USD. It was like $20 or less.
Effort like that deserves some respect. Even a game such as Derelict deserves historians.
why is it so expensive now
@@genericname2747 the guy who started the project had legal trouble with the SCP project. The $200 dollars thing was to help keep people from buying it until he A: removed all the references to it and B: added more to the game.

@@linop2 Okay, I was not expecting an actual reason. The developer seems pretty cool
kevin could do an entire just finding and reading all the dumb as fuck steam reviews out there and i'd watch immediately because the way he presents and reacts to them is everything
Well I mean, how would you expect the developer to afford to actually buy his game to find the bugs at this price? Hence all bugs are still there, logic!
Kevin save 22000 euros I want to see the other two games
My favorite was the speak to shoot game. I can just imagine Anna in the next room while Kevin yells bang bang bang over and over again lol
That last scam game feels like the devs made a typo in the pricing box.
Hah, in that Run Thief game, the text was Russian (for some odd reason even tho it was supposed to be in English) and I was cracking up at Kevin (poorly) trying to pronounce some of the words and just being overall confused, haven't laughed from a yt video like that for a long while thank you Kevin it was a blast đđ
Kevin dancing to the music while dead on the floor is the most Kevin thing ever.
i bet the asset-flip developer at the end just got so lazy they typed "399" instead of "3.99" in the price box. lol
Marriagebook comes across as the only real scam out of all these. The other ones just feel like plain incompetence or typos. Like, they're put out by content farms that accidentally added an extra 9 at the end of the price, but they have so many games and nobody buys most of them anyway, so they never notice the price is increased so dramatically on one.
This video did made me realize that I would have no idea what to expect from a $200 videogame. We live in a world where people pour their souls into a game that they sell for $10. You can get hundreds of hours of amazing gameplay for the standard $60. Besides collectors editions and rarity reasons, what could possibly make a game be worth that much???
This reminds me of when people on MMOâs would list things on shops at max value, so no one could actually ever afford to buy it. Their shops were actually just galleries of how rich that player was and they just liked to show you the items you wish you hadâŠ. In the end, itâs almost the same, except you felt good once you got those armor setsâŠâŠ Cant say Iâd be thrilled to buy steam games. đ
A lot of it is extra storage space too, set at max value so that it won't be bought but on the off chance that it is then at least profitable.
All of these "(something) steam games" videos are really funny!

Okay Kevin, hear me out..... You should try some of the horse riding games available on Steam. I found one I played as a kid in the early 2000's the other day and they gave me a bundle of like 6 horse games with it for under $10. i am just so confused as to why ANY games are set to cost that much. it's so strange haha. great video! love watching you play bad games
It's mostly money-laundering, honestly. Same principle as selling crappy art for millions.
@@Yaspis There's also the realm of cost recoup. To publish on Steam you have to pay, so if you have a terrible game that might sell 3 copies or less.. it can be tempting to charge enough to make your money back. It's terrible business, but most of these people didn't goo to college for business.
Quality control? Who needs that when we can take 30% of every sale!
For those who are curious like me, I checked for some of these games here, and it looks like most of them were like âŹ10 indie games (both of the âŹ10,000 games actually cost âŹ2 until last month), but since these games are from Russian developers, because of all the _stuff_ going on, they decided to blow up their prices to protest against Steam's pro-Ukrainian stance.
