The “nobody has played” is only recent players. I only know cause the bad narrator game is from years ago and was pretty cool if you like Kaizos

I mean some of these are genuinely good games so, yeah. I mean the bird game is a simple but quite stylistically coherent and fun little puzzle game, the noir alien game is similarly simple yet well made, and the narrator is a dick, well, I won't say it's fun, but it certainly is what it set out to be.

I'm impressed how decent some of these games look tbh, especially the bird game. These are probably little personal projects for one or a couple of people just trying to learn how to code games and make a few bucks off it
I was also thinking people who have to make a quick game for a game dev course probably upload a lot of their stuff!
Thing is, steam charges 100 bucks per game upload so I don’t see how they could make a profit, it’s a shame
All jokes aside though, some of these genuinely looked fun. The Monster and Bird games looked like a nice time killer, and that alien one didn't look too horrible either.

@@bowkatiewow Yes, I assumed the same. Kevin can't turn Blue Light Filter on on his computer because then his screen recordings, and so his actual videos, would be tinted yellow. So, blue light filtering glasses it is.

no joke about a third of the games I play I get from this channel. the birds one looked okay and the mobster one would have gotten sales if it had been produced in the early 2000s
I mean some of them are good so, go for it. Even scenner while being bad as a game clearly had some care put into it, and a lot of the other ones are just well made with effort put into them, but just never got a playerbase for one reason or another.

@@elbennoo Yeah! We used to work together on a really small project that didn’t end up getting completed. I’m not sure if he does voicework anymore but I know he’s been focusing on some self-composed music. If he is still doing it he’s probably helping with game jams since that’s how he found roles.

Honestly, little bit more work in and it’d be a solid little Indy title
a lot of the games in this video actually aren't that bad, they just don't have players for one reason or another. I mean the bird game was clearly well made with care put into it, and while it was simple, it was also the first 3 levels of a puzzle game, you wouldn't judge Portal by the difficulty of it's first "puzzle" of putting box on big red button so it's kind of unfair to judge it based on just the first few levels. Some are bad, don't get me wrong, but a lot clearly aren't.
Bless Kevin for bringing publicity to games that no one has ever played. Within 72 hours, these games might have tons of folks picking them up. ☺️💜
Plus that Narrator one was a nice nostalgic flashback to Kevin's romps in The Stanley Parable and Whirlwind Heist.

The WildSphere developer actually seems to have some potential. They've got a game coming out this month BTW. One of their games, Gigantosaurus The Game was released by a separate publisher (Outright Games Ltd., which seems to be a publisher that specializes in having different studios churn out overpriced licensed property games that no-one has ever heard of), and it doesn't show up on their own list of games, so you have to search for the developer on Steam directly to get it to show up.
They seem to be yet another small studio that doesn't get a lot of a attention (hence why they got featured here), but they do actually seem to be improving overall, year by year. Would not be surprised to see them blow up because of this video. One of the main stumbling points seems to be the price of their games, they're a bit expensive for what they are, and I've no idea if they ever go on sale. If they don't, that could explain why there haven't been more takers. Their cheapest game is still about $20 CDN (So, probably something like $15 US?), and it probably should have been about half that, maybe a bit more. Wouldn't be too shocked if they release a small scale hit some time in the next few years.

Not gonna lie, I got the bird game. I bet a lot of these games got bought by viewers now! Kevin is doing the lords work and giving struggling games the exposure they need!
Just want to say I love the attention to detail and extra effort with editing that's been going on for a while now! The "noir" style voice filter was a fun touch, and the underwater one always sounds cool to me haha. Thank you for the hilarious videos as always Kevin!!

Super Man or Monster is an underrated game. I played it a ton as kid and it does get pretty difficult in the later levels. I highly recommend a full play-through with Hank!

"Boids" are a thing! They're a simplified simulation of flocking animals built around three simple rules: They stick together, they avoid slamming into each other, and they try to go in the same direction. These three rules are enough to make surprisingly realistic simulations of bird flocks, fish schools, sheep herds, etc. They're popular in CGI animation and games as a way of generating background birds.
