    I've owned and really enjoyed using your Ragnarok holsters. They are great for the range/competition but without active retention I just can't bring myself to wear it for duty-use. I understand the arguments for always maintaining situational awareness and keeping reactionary-gaps/stand-off distances, but the crises many of us prepare for are far too chaotic to realistically exercise these techniques reliably and practically. For a company so dedicated to training, equipping, and inspiring citizens to defend and protect life and liberty, I am really surprised that your team has not developed and brought to market a level 2 or 3 active retention holster for duty-use.
    I also understand the argument that these holsters already exist in the market from reputable manufacturers (such as Safariland and others), but many of these companies do not value the everyday citizen. For one, they prioritize fulfilling large DoD, agency, and LE orders leading to popular holster being out of stock, wide part & accessory unavailability, and incredibly long wait times (especially during times of crisis and shortage). They also do not manufacture holsters for reliable firearms and lights that are in common use by citizens, which just happen not to be issued by many units, agencies, and departments. Additionally, many of these companies have lack-luster customer service and support.
    I remember watching one of your live streams a long time ago. You expressed your company's goal of becoming a "one-stop-shop for the prepared citizen". I think adding a product like this will be a large leap towards achieving that goal.

      I second all of this. I love my ragnarok but want the security of a safari land. But they don’t make enough variations for my pistol / light combo and it’s incredibly confusing shopping experience. An active retention duty holster from trex would be so awesome.

      Truth! I run a 6304 and can't imagine not having AT LEAST a double retention holster. I am just starting out and learning, but knowing that my pistol will NOT bounce out is good piece of mind.

    I’ve got the Speed Belt. Been using it about 2 times a week at the range, for the last 2 months. I love it, but the inner belt kinda crap. I ended up buying a $15 leather belt and attaching some 2” wide industrial grade Velcro to it to add some rigidity. Totaled out to like $35.I’d recommend this. Right now the Velcro is attached to the leather belt with the adhesive on the back of the industrial grade Velcro. I was doubling my leather daily belt with the inner speed belt, and it was annoying. Especially because I bought this belt to be able to quickly throw it on from the trunk of my car or whatever I need.
    The outer belt is great, but as an every day belt to just hold up my pants, the inner belt sucked. But now, it’s all a lot more sturdy and I’m currently running a G19, two pistol mags, two AR mags, a fixed blade, a multi tool, a small med pouch and a folding GP pouch. It’s great and the outer belt is super solid. And, Trex’s multicam looks great.

    Word of advice for everyone looking for a dedicated competition belt, as good as TREXs stuff is, you’re going to want dedicated equipment. USPSA is about speed, and the guys pulling from Double alpha academy pouches and holsters are going to be faster than you, and quite frankly comp gear is both more comfortable and easier to use. Believe me, I tried running a battle belt with a traditional kydex friction holster in USPSA for about a year, got old fast.

      I use T. Rex’s speed belt and MARS carriers for my USPSA rig. For holster though, the X1 Raptor from Carey Concealment is great because it’s essentially a dump bucket for your gun with a magnet on the bottom that retains it when you’re running around doing RO stuff.

    • @spacecaesar7619
      @spacecaesar7619 Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@wcw2793 definitely not a bad rig, though I got used to running bullets out from my double alpha rig and I can’t go back now. I run a full DAA rig with a Max holster and XIP mag pouches. Prior to that I was running a blue alpha gear Molle belt with kiwis and a ragnarok, not a fun time.

    While I haven’t ran a USPSA match since February, every match I’ve ran in the last 2 years (2021/2022) I ran with a leg strap, WML, and my mags and holster I front of CL. idk if my local club is out dates, or if you are outdated, but my experience conflicts with what you have presented.

      Aside from the leg strap all of those are legal in USPSA. (Everybody says nobody cares about leg straps though). I think the weapon light is just seen as not necessary for shooting matches

      I'm pretty sure he's talking about a "Level 2/3" match, where they will check your gear such as chronographing your ammo, if they'll do that I'll assume they'll check your belt as well. I've been to 4 "Level 1" matches and have seen setups of all kinds and no one has said anything. Don't let the gear stop you from competing, you can always email the match director and they'll let you know. Hope this helps.

      Thats why i think PCSL is going to takeoff very soon. USPSA is a dumpster fire right now that is run by a bunch of FUDDs. a thigh strap is more practical than a $5,000 plus race gun that you would never use outside of a competition setting but thats ok to allow...

      It’s something I’ve been pushing to change for a long time with the sport. Best way I think to get it changed is get more likeminded people to petition the BOD about it to change the rule. If something isn’t going to be allowed then it needs to be because of a safety risk, not because “it’s too militaristic”.
