I have a 43c and carry it often, usually in my pocket with the Sticky holster. I ran a several types of .22 ammo thru it when I first got it and found some of the cheaper ammo wanted to stick in the cylinder. I run Federal Punch now, if you watch reviews on the cartridge you'll see why. The pistol weighs in at about 11 ounces so you hardly know you are carrying it. The price was the only gripe I had, at around $700 it was a bit to choke down. When you consider the size, weight, 8 round capacity and and ease of concealability it was easy to justify the cost.
My profession is firearms related, I carry a 43c, everyone else at work carries 1911s when they make fun of me I ask them which side of the ice pick they use, they dont understand the question LOL
Cheap ammo means more practice. It's small and light in a soft holster. Like a cell phone in your pocket . Revolver is reliable, and 8 rounds is plenty good. Lots of pros on this revolver.
Great gun. Love mine. Tested side by side vs the ruger LCR and the 43c is worth every extra penny. I also use federal punch, very reliable and effective. 43c has a better trigger, its lighter, smaller and has better sights. Its perfect for discreet easy cary. 8 shots of 22 lr with fed punch is nothing to sneeze at. Totally effective tool for most civilians use case. I also trust s&w and wouldnt bet my life on a glock.
My favorite gun. A true unsung hero in the ccw market. I can and have been able to afford any gun i want to carry and shoot, but the 43c is always on me. Sometimes as a back-up, but mostly a primary. If i lost it today, id buy another tomorrow. Hogue g10 grips and XS big dot tritium make it a complete package.
I feel the same, have access to what others feel are "better options" but I love the 43c. Very capable, small, light, reliable, just big enough to shoot well even out to decent ranges. Always on us, always ready 🇺🇸👍👍
I’m sure there will be some caliber snobs, but run good .22 ammo like CCI and there’s zero issue. Just as reliable as center fire. I carry a 442 j frame and am actually considering moving down to a 43c. Nothing at all wrong with .22 for carry! 8 shots center mass in quick succession is no joke!
I own two. And love them. Federal punch works great! Very consistent and performs amazing (1100+ fps avg in this snub) and gets 13 to 16 inches in gel test, but cci stingers, minimags, quiets, remington golden bullet, and subsonics all work well too for me. Just gotta clean and oil/lube them well before first use and they run well after that if kept.semi clean
I had the Ruger LCR didn’t care for the trigger so I sold it and purchased a Ruger SR22 just for the kids to practice. Anyway I regret selling it but now I’m looking at the S&W 43c because I like to carry a 22LR just to run to the store but I don’t want to carry any semiautomatic 22LR because I don’t trust them because there is a good chance of it jamming.
I absolutely LOVE my 43c. So nice i bought it twice. Wife shoots it well too, i hike 10-15 miles multiple days a week and having 8 shots on me in a 12oz package that is easy to hide. Draw and shoot well. No brainer. Its fit finish and trigger are leaps and bounds above the lcr. Shooting side by side the lcr rattles like crazy if rocked side to side. Smith & wesson is like a swiss watch. The extra few hundred is more then worth it imo, i'd pay double the price of lcr for 43c if needed knowing what I know now 👍
I pocket carry an LCR in 22lr. Nicer trigger for me than the 43c and I was able to add a night sight on the front. I had to dump those big rubber grips though and get some smaller hammer forged grips.

You shake an lcr 22 lr side to side and it sounds like pennies inside a beer can😅 ive found lcr 22 and 43c for about $100 difference at my local gun shops, up to $200-300 less if used on lcr or you get a deal, but i'd pay 2x the price the LCR for a 43c knowing what I know now, having shot both side by side at the range. Have 2k rounds thru my first 43c and its still running like a top, just got a 2nd one for my wife, since she liked it as well and she can shoot it really well too! The smith trigger may be a little heavier but its way more predictable and easy to stage if you want to makena precision shot, its practically a single action once you get used to how far to pull back before lining up aim and squeezing that last bit for bullseye target accuracy up to 7 yards I can hit dimes with the 43c
I often carry a 340pd in warmer weather, Glocks aren't junk though, not near as much as Sigs are, had a P220 that went back 3 times and then the rear sight fell off, also had a 637 Smith break in the first 5 shot, Smith and Wesson sent me a new, only took 8 months.
I’ve owned Glock in the past and if you don’t tell anyone, I’ll tell you I own a Glock 40 MOS. Never shot it. I had 42’s and 43’s. Had a matching set of 17’s in FDE that were my shop guns for years. Great pistols. I went full on sig. actually I stopped buying polymer guns all together until the 365 came out. The 19 is unfailing, all encompassing and probably what I need.
He gave himself away that he is clueless about guns when the called Glocks "trash". A Glock 42 is way better than the S&W 43c pipsqueak .22 lr from a 1.9' barrel.

My apologies for missing this comment! The trigger is good. Could be smoothed up a bit but why bother. I shoot it well and like where we are at with it.
They also have one in 22 magnum, but those are 5, 6 or 7 shots.. i'll take 8 knowing how capable federal punch is and how much better I shoot it then I do 38 specials (even out of much heavier revolvers) i love the 43c and i've shot a lot of other revolvers in similar caliber, price and configuration range.. for some the 43c is what does it, even if just for the hot part of the year. For me its an edc 365
It gets better with use. If you didn't clean it before range trip, I'd recommend a deep cleaning with a CLP then follow up with ballistol or preferred lube. It comes with protective coating that makes it run crappy til cleaned but even then its heavy to get ignition in 22s, but it breaks in a few lbs less over first 1k dry fire/live fires.
Worth every penny. I got two 😅👍 2,000 rounds thru first one in first 11 months and it shoots dimes, and runs like a top. Couldn't be happier with it, the wife can even get all headshots on target at the needed ranges. These little pocket rockets are highly capable. If you actually shoot your gun even 1 time a month, the cost of 22 lr, vs anything else, 22 mag (like 351c) or 38 special (642, 442) the cost per shot being so much lower makes this a more affordable option to own after you shoot even a few hundred rounds

It’s just a great gun. I also have the Smith Kit gun and a 617 6”. All great.

I have the LCR22lr and a 43c. Love them both. I’d be careful dry firing the 43c though, I think only the LCR and be dry fired safely without snap caps

I like mine in a front pocket and it’s accurate for inside 10 yards work
I love my 43C. Make sure you get snap caps though, this model cant be dry fired like the other models.

Carry what you like. The same gun does come in 38 Special, though.
