This is why I subscribed to your channel, only a true musician will see beyond the "I like how they're dressed" or " WOW, Lasers"! You appreciate what goes into a performance, few reactors out there will point out just how difficult a harmonized lead really is! It can sound amazing or it can sound really awful! and you point these points out! As to Haruna's drumming, Does That Double Kick EVER Stop? She is just mind blowing! The reason for low views is the video keeps getting blocked. Many of us have uploaded this one. I uploaded with lyrics a few months ago but it got hit with a strike after 2 weeks. We need them to upload it officially so they can build some momentum because this performance is so inspirational, lyrics included. There is an official music video but this is just better :D
Miho, the bassist, is also the founder and soul of the band. That has something to do with why you are drawn to her. She and Haruna are one of the great back lines of all time.

also fyi, this is one of their first hits from a couple years ago, the crowd is singing every word with her, so some of those voices you hear are the front row, even I know every word and am singing along with her. Most LB fans know all the words and I KNOW the crowd does, this is a 2 year old song. Anyhoo, love your reactions to them, they are GODZ

Actually what you are hearing when you thought that there was a backing track was the crowd singing along. She invited them to sing with her and many did. If you listen closely you can hear that it is coming from the crowd.

Yeah mate another great reaction thanks. They are like a small dragons who burn the stage and the venue take your breath and in the end left you speechless. And questioning your self did I witnessed this or not. I know by my self, watch them twice in Wacken Germany 2018 and UK 2019 year. It is very difficult when videos are uploaded from DVD's as obviously, they have been post produced to make a good audio balance for the disc. The doubling of Asami's voice may of been added or as you say on backing. Does not matter as there are other songs where you see Miyako, sing a fair amount of backing. Midori and Miho, tend to join in with the chants 😀

The recent uptick of women in metal over the last 10-15 years is awesome. Especially coming from countries like Japan, where that European power metal style is so engrained in the culture because of its use in anime since the late early 90s (maybe prior). Yes, there have always been women in metal, but they've always been the rare exception to the rule until recently. It's no longer a novelty or a gimmick. 😊
Amen to that, on top of that of lot of these women are seriously making a lot of the men in the rock and metal scene look ridiculous. Good on them, metal always needs a kick in the butt now and then.
I understand your question about the microphones on stage, but it is because this song is only part of the show. And the microphones are used in unison backing vocals from other songs like "M.D.O", "Thunder Vengeance" and "Raise Some Hell".
I can't wait to get to "Raise Some Hell".....just from the title alone, I have a feeling that one is gonna be a barn burner.

I don't hear the backing vocals you're hearing. I own the blu-ray and checked it out, and I don't hear any there either. The musicians do sing backup, so there's no need for a vocal backing track. However, they do use instrumental backing tracks occasionally. You'll hear strings, piano, and I wouldn't be surprised if they occasionally have a recorded choir or something. Band-Maid occasionally make use of a harmonizer to make Kanami's backup vocals sound like an entire crowd. Lovebites might possibly use one as well. Not sure. Anyway, I only hear one Asami, so I'm not sure what you're hearing. Mind you I'm half deaf in my old age from playing in bands when I was young and invincible.
It's only in the 2nd and 3rd chorus I hear the additional harmonizing voice, it's more prominent in the 3rd chorus.

"Rising" absolutely is a gem, but definitely not a hidden one. On the contrary, as far as I can see, it's obviously their second mostly viewed song on CZcams. And despite the wide-spread "live is so much better" gossip it's an amazing and beautifull MV, easily as enjoyable as their fantastic live performances:

Speaking of single live videos of single songs, there are only 2 officially available on their CZcams channel ( czcams.com/channels/90wxogt_sQrP0Os0HT-xuw.html ), "Thunder Vengeance" and "Holy War". The other ones (and I'm not talking of those fan-recorded ones on cell phones during concerts) like the "Rising" live one you reacted to, are just uploaded copies from DVDs/Blu-Rays. Because of copyright issues and unknown CZcams algorithms most of them "survive" for only so long (exceptions sometimes confirm the rule). That's why they usually can't gain that many views. Additionally there are available their Wacken (reasonable good sound quality) and Bloodstock (pretty poor sound quality) performances on CZcams.
BTW, their fan-uploaded stunning studio live cover of Halloween's "Eagle fly free" (from the Blu-Ray "Awake Again") got more than 200.000 views in only 3 weeks, but was blocked then ...

I believe the guitar girls and the bassist perhaps don´t believe their English is good enough to go up to the microphone. Japanese usually got a very thick accent but I can be wrong of course...! Great reaction though...love it..!

Hah haaaah....funny story. That's a rough cut of a song off one of my bands albums that didn't make the cut. It's honestly just a scratch track, doubled guitars, bass, drums. I had to ask permission from our manager to use it for the channel, and she said sure no problem....just keep the volume down low on it and don't distribute it to anyone, since it was never meant to actually be released.

It is, but it's not my call. It's our manager and record labels call (one in the same, we have our own record label and she runs it.) The track wasn't good enough to be on the album so it went in the proverbial trash....I rescued it and asked if I could use it for this channel. I'm just glad she said yes.

I'm just not familiar with the music business, so I find it a bit funny, that something that is officially declared as "disposable" still gets some treatment as if it could be the next #1 hit ... Hey I want your opinion on whether this guitar player is Jimi Hendrix's granddaughter!!!
Asterism is a trio of teens who blend Jazz, Metal and Rock into a wicked sound with no vocals. Dawn is a fan-cam with great video and audio of their session at a small venue (a club). It shows the string work of Haruka/guitar (16 y.o. and playing only 6 years) and Miyu/bass (17 and playing 10 years), Miyu's brother is on drums and is old at 21 (LOL). These kids are sensational despite a very low amount of views. Dawn (czcams.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/video.html) is a masterpiece IMHO but let's hear what David has to say. I saw Hendrix LIVE several times and I saw Cream (1966-68) LIVE with Baker/Bruce and Clapton and I am telling you these kids are the next super trio now that they will be out of High School!!! Let's see if David thinks anything of these kids and settles an argument with my bass playing friend who says without a vocalist they won't make it.
Let's seeeeeeeee.....Steve Vai.....Joe Satriani....Eric Johnson....Gary Hoey.....Blues Saraceno. Any of these names ring a bell? I'm pretty sure they all were very successful without a vocalist. Added to the que.

Did you really hear a backing voice singing besides Asami?? Do I have to worry about you?? Because ... well ... you know, what they are saying about hearing voices that others don't ... LOL ... just kidding ...
But seriously, with my good head phones on, I listened to the part in your reaction video again and then to the original source on my "Five of a Kind" Blu-Ray ... no second backing voice whatsoever, sorry. No offense ... maybe you tried a bit too much to find "something"? Maybe it was some echoing sounds of Asami's vibrato or of keyboard effects they usually also do in their live performances. Not that it actually matters, but you said it yourself, it makes no sense. They other band members sing backing vocals or chorus during several songs regardless if live or in studio. If this was supposed to happen in "Rising" (but what isn't in the studio version either, I checked), they would easily do it despite having to play guitar or bass at the same time, they showed it live with various other songs. And let's say hypothetically even if they used an off-stage backing singer or some vocal-like keyboard effects ... it wouldn't change anything like it doesn't change anything, when they also usually mix in some keyboard sounds and harmonies all the time in their live concerts, so what would even be the problem or somehow "disappointing"? Whatever ... for me "the case" is closed and I'm looking forward to your next LOVEBITES reaction. :-)

In the 3rd chorus at 14:38 I'll help you find it. The harmony is an upper harmony over the lead.
Lead singer is singing an F over a D, so it's the minor 3rd of the root chord that she is singing. Over her voice there is an A vocalization, which would be the 5th of the root D, but the major 3rd of her F. That harmony (the 5th of the root, but the major 3rd of her lead melody line) is maintained throughout the chorus. You can REALLY hear it come through from 14:40 - 14:42 , 14:44 - 14:45 , 14:46 - 14:49 , 14:52 - 14:59 , 15:01 - 15:03 (reeeeally cuts through over the top there for some reason) , 15:05 - 15:08 (at which point she goes up to a C, which is where the harmony is so she ends up doubling it and you can't hear it) 15:11 (it's back) - 15:21 . I even ran the audio through a voice isolation filter, and it clearly is there. I knew I wasn't crazy. Added to the que.

As far as I can see, you'd be still the only one hearing/discovering that and making some issue out of this complete non-issue. However it might be, either way there's nothing sensational, disappointing or "bummer" about it, just as it isn't by using some keybord backing. Hey, I clearly heard some keyboard sounds (without "keyboard isolation filter" ;-), but there's no one on the piano/keyboard at that moment, "Bummer" ... LOL
But who am I ... surely not a "professional", but if it takes a voice isolation filter to prove this non-issue, I'm fine with that ... :-)
Anyways, you found at least "something", so far it was kind of fun to talk about this "issue", but with any more digging into that, we'd definitely waste time, don't you think too?

@@THEDavidHeretic you're not the only one hearing the backing track. It is odd that they used this time. Back in 2018 they didn't use it, although in a small venue, but you could spot the unison solos don't run smoothly.
the reason why other 4 members dont backing up the vocals,because none of them could do the very low register that the singer did.
