- A quick review and set up pack down of our Helinox Savanna light weight camping chairs.
Specifications:
Weight- 1.78kg assembled, 1.9kg packed
Capacity - 145kg/ 320lb
Warranty- 5 years
Packed size - W54.5cm, D16cm, H15.5cm
We have owned and used the chairs for several months using them everyday as part of our overlanding set up. We used to own big folding chairs which whilst comfortable weighed almost 10kg and took up too much space in the car.

cracking video you sold it me , just ordered two
thank you
Great review based in facts built over time and real world use and not just, I got this today and this is my thoughts haha!
Well done, keep it up :)
Thanks glad you enjoyed the video. I know honest reviews have helped us choose a lot of our gear so its good to give back.
Thanks for sharing.
It was great to see you being a little bit rough with the chairs and not being too bothered about that.
I'm pretty tempted right now... I have the H Chair Zero - but it's just a little bit too short to be honest.
I'd still use it for overnight hiking, but the Savanna might be my go to chair for all other camping.
Cheers
Thanks for watching shaz. We have now had the chairs a further 6 months and still think they are the best thing we own. Even using them everyday we have had no damage yet and they are super comfy. The chair zero look like a great piece of kit for overnight.
Now I really need a couple of these!
Thanks for watching Paul they really are a great chair.
Thanks heaps for this review, it was actually so helpful!
Thanks for the comment glad you enjoyed and found the video helpful.

Thank you for the review. I am after a compact lightweight chair that I can laze about in. The regular Helinox's don't cut it for me with comfort but these seem to hit the spot. Since I a bikie that tows a trailer I believe the weight and packdown size would be perfect. Thanks again for an excellent review. Sold for me :)
Glad the review helped you Lea they are a amazing chair and super comfortable.

Hey guys,
Great review! Always good to watch a good down to earth summary of your experience with something.
Got a question for you though. How are the drink holders? Do you find that they can be flimsy with a full drink?
Also from what I could see, you tend to lounge back into the chair due to its design, not sit up like you are at a table. Is that the case?
I'm in the market for some new chairs so I am interested to hear your thoughts.
Cheers, keep up the great content!
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed the video the cup holders are fine for a beer but to be honest we don't use them much as a beer with a stubbie cooler doesn't fit in there very well and our bottles are a bit big aswell. We sit up in the chairs to eat at the table lots and they are still very comfy and found you can do either sit straight or lounge in them. They are a amazing chair and have been honestly surprised they have had no issues definetly you get what you pay for.

Great review. I only wish that there was a strap to carry it over the shoulder vs having to hold it.
Thanks for watching Denise. Yes a strap would be a great addition to the chair bag.
Great review, thank you. What’s that table you’ve got there you used to roll it up on? Looks better than my current one
Thanks Lee the table is just a Spinifex table from bcf or anaconda. And has somehow survived the whole trip do highly recommend them.

hi, what detachable chair frame/rod design like this that you think have taller backrest & wider seat size than Helinox Savanna? thanks 🙏
Great summary. How tall are you vs height of back rest?
We are about 5 foot 9 and 5 foot 7. And sit central in the headrest.

How comfortable are they on the back of the legs? Do they cut in like a lot of camp chairs?
Thanks for watching Simon. They are very comfortable haven't noticed any digging in on the back of the legs and they are our everyday chair whilst on the road.
You mentioned the seat height being good for dining, but next to your actual dining table, it looks like you'd be sitting at a really low position. What's your take on that?
Does it cut into the back of your legs?
How are these chairs for sitting at the table also?
We use the chairs to sit at our standard camping table and they are a good height. We purchased these over the sunset chair due to the extra height of the savana hope that helps.
