@@ethanreed8400 Oh shutup dont bring me to your dogsht level standard of game details. Imagine waiting 3 years for a metro you cant even move around in to get better other angles of the city.
Quit meatriding lazy development. No mans sky was able to achieve more sht in 3 years than whatever garbage this is.
GTA 5 is the most detailed game of 2013 and yet you have people complaining about there not being enough enterable interiors. Atleast in Cyberpunk this train is moving and there's alot of potential to do sht while inside a moving train. This implementation is basically a trip skip at this point.

Nah, I drive around just admiring the city way more than actually playing the game, doing quests etc 😄 with all UI turned off and my own dark electro music in the background it's just mind-blowingly cool. Can do this literally for hours, just driving around doing absolutely nothing.

ya this is why when i bought the game, i just turned off the minimap, so that to do quests i'd actually have to pay attention to the cutscenes and dialogue, and to read street signs and navigate. Even though the game had meh gameplay at the time, wandering around and getting lost in the depths of the city and just "happening" to reach your quest destination was a great way to expierence the game.

Night City remains one of the most striking cities in computer game history. I'd played the rpg and we ran around in Night City in the distant 2020s (ha ha). Nothing prepared me for Night City in 2077. Its so spectacularly ugly, the trash is piled in mounds and people are crammed into single buildings. The Buildings are built to blot out the sky and in places up against the roads so you can't easily pass among them. They twist in on themselves like a maze. Their colors are gaudy and cheap looking. Even the wealthy look either militaristic or gaudy. All the vehicles are hideous. Its horrific. I love it.

Pretty sure it's because of the police system. It took already quite some time to make it work correctly, so having to design the police being able to chase and fight you while you're in a moving metro with people taken hostage and running everywhere at each station, I can't imagine how much this would break their engine and new bugs it would create lol. People don't realize this, but this is their first game in a futuristic setting they had literally 0 expérience with 99% of the things that Cyberpunk implied, so it's going to take at least 2 or 3 games before they catch up to the studios like rockstar who have been doing this for 30 years

Given the choice between running for 15 hours straight and making your avatar run for 15 hours straight, people will choose "make avatar run". Meanwhile they'll sit comfortable in their VR char and watch the world through avatar's eyes. Don't forget that that there are plenty of people who simply cannot walk, run or stand for long.
Threadmill systems that attempt to replicate real life phsyical effort do not exactly have a future, because people get tired, and feeling tired is not fun. The future is seated play where you control something or someone with minimum effort.

    • @kacperwoch4368
      @kacperwoch4368 Před 8 měsíci +2

The stations and the boarding is actually the easy thing to do but allowing you to move around the train when it's moving is a challenge. The game engine has to be built with that in mind and it seems this game's engine is not built like that. Even if they managed to glue your character to the floor, killing someone in the wagon would prolly result in the rugdoll flying to the end of the train with the speed of light and glitching out. Same with every item on the floor.
But if we're talking only boarding the train and still forcing the character to sit like it is now then it is definately doable.

Despite its flaws - not being able to walk inside the train, and no passengers boarding and getting off on the stations, it's the best train system we have right now on a AAA open world game. GTA 5's train system has passengers alighting and boarding the train but you also can't do anything while the train is running. you also have no control of camera movements. It basically just transitions to cinematic camera. RDR2's train system is more or less the same as GTA 5's. You can board a train to rob people but there's no option to just be a normal passenger, sit there and take in the view.

Night City is basically a futuristic mix of Sao Paulo, New York and Tokyo. I don't think people there live that badly as some say. It looks like there are a lot of people living in the streets, a lot of violence and gangs... But middle and upper classes live way better than their pairs of today. And the medicine is way more advanced too, technology is extremely more accessible and people are more open-minded. Just like nowadays compared to the past, we cannot say we're better stuck than people in 1200 but we can say we have a lot of better things - and a lot of worst too. The same can be said about the future represented in Night City.

@@BlueSkyCountry Yeah but if people stopped to think for a while you'd realize it wouldn't be as bad as you think it is. Say you have literally nothing to hide, you're a good person, you did nothing wrong. So what if they know who you are? (spoiler, they know already, as of today) and where you're going? (They also know already...) at least this way you're "sure" that nobody is going to try anything funky on you.
It's the same reason why nobody feels safe walking if there's no light outside or getting into an alley or whatever.
But if you can get recognized instantly, then evil-doers would have a hard time thriving...
And all the other things about social scores and what-so-not, we're already there as well: if you didn't study enough or in a great college you're stuck doing a mediocre life unless you figure out a way to make bank (which won't happen 99% of the times) - if you don't have a good credit score they won't lend you anything and blabla...
At least this way you know you're sort of "safe".

@@FilippoCardoni If one has no freedom, and unable to make choices, then what is the point of even living? Look at the falling birth rates and the amount of people self isolating in their rooms now using VR to escape into fantasy worlds long term. That is what happens when everything in society is micromanaged. People will simply give up and lose the very will to live. In another 2 generations, South Korea, Japan, and the UK may even cease to exist as functional nations if their birth rates keep falling at the speed they are doing now. You can be in the safest society ever, but guess what? You are still not going to live forever. And there are plenty of ways such as accidents, medical errors, etc., that can propel you to an early end. I rather have dangerous, weapons filled freedom, guided by my moral choices, than live as a serf in a technological feudal realm.

What boggles me is that Night City being a city of a population of 6,964,425 people packed in the space of only 75.42 km2 (Greater London is 1,569 km2 for comparison.) Population density would average 92341.88 p/km2
The public transportation system like this would be over capacity big time, like even worse than Mumbai.
Kinda makes no sense. I would expect Night City to be at most 2-3 million people.
