Watch europa the last battle, pass it on. They had entire battalions of black soldiers, Arab Muslims, allied with the japanese ect... Pretty clear one side cared about the people and one cared about maintaining power.
I still remember my great grandfather was part of the general German army and served in a Tiger I and he told me tales of things like this, where he and his crew would spend nights in the tank speaking about what they witnessed like in these scenes and they asked themselves if they were on the right side when so many were against them. They eventually were told via radio about the Nazi concentration camps and he had enough, he drove his tiger with a massive white flag and the turret facing behind away from American front lines. I haven't played fps games in years (except doom and Duke nukem) have WW2 games like this always been this masterful at storytelling? I've only really played cod waw and valiant hearts in terms of war games.
Yeah pretty much. COD WWII is a masterpiece of a story coming out just a year before BFV that you should check out too. However the latest WWII based game, COD Vanguard, should be ultimately avoided as its filled and rampant with inaccuracies and just generally not fun to play.
@@joed2431 Yeah Vanguard is pretty much everything you DON’T want in a WWII game, it’s best to try and forget that it’s ever been made. The Last Tiger in this video is probably one of the best stories Battlefield has ever made, but the one with the Nordic mom and teenage daughter was pretty much rewritten history for wokeness and the one in Africa basically glorifies war. Sometimes games can’t be 100% perfection I guess
@@thek.g.b301 I definitely understand that games can't always be perfect. War is not supposed to be woke it's supposed to be brutal and depressing. Do you know any good WWI games by chance? Specifically for cod series

This wasn't about them realizing they were the real evil at all at least no more than the Allies. It's just about actually seeing the effects of war on people
If you found this compelling I really recommend Downfall (Der Untergang), the 2004 movie that ended up being a meme. It's a masterpiece for capturing this despair in the last days of the war.
When you realize that none of the characters in this war story in battlefield 5 were killed by enemy soldiers. None of them at all. They were both killed by a fellow German soldiers and military.
When My Grandfather was younger he worked with a German war Veteran who was interned in Canada as a POW during WW2. When the war ended and he finally returned to Germany he found he had lost everything and everyone he cared for and came back to Canada because anything left he cherished was there. Things turned out good for him in the end though, he married the sister of co-worker (and Canadian war vet), had a family, and lived the rest of his life in peace just outside of Niagara Falls.
This story was the only reason i ever redownloaded the game. Well written, whether based on real events or not, it conveys the entire german side nearing the end of the war
"The enemy? His sense of duty was no less than yours, I deem. You wonder what his name is, where he came from, and if he was really evil at heart. What lies or threats led him on this long march from home. If he would rather have stayed there, in peace. War will make corpses of us all.” - Faramir LOTR
Thats a nice little catch how dumbfounded he is, in perspective he can't even hear the roaring sound of the tank engine, the deafening silence is enough to speaks the volume of horrors in wars, and what makes it interesting part is to show how wicked a man is capable of.
I love this mission, idk why but I guess because it makes you remember they were just people following orders, most had no idea how evil they were considered by the enemy or why.
To be fair, not all Germans were bad during WW2 only the Nazis Out of the 89% of the country that voted during the 1933 election only 43.9% favored in the Nazi party, the majority of the country did not want nazi power in there country Even during the war the Wehrmacht and SS were different separations of groups SS being nazi members and Wehrmacht being non nazi members there were even generals in the nazi military who despised the SS and seen them as barbaric, they did say they were a usefully group during the war if you were in a tight spot But almost all if not all agreed they were Barbaric and criminals
Eastern Europe would disagree. The German army also helped the German death squads of the east murder 2 million people. The death squads were 3000 men. The army helped them a lot. It's not a hard search, the werhmacht have a long list of crimes they committed in the war. They weren't exactly angels that could call out the SS when they helped them constantly and carried out much of the killings and rounding up of undesirables and Slavic POWs to either die or work to death.
I would say that it is important to differentiate between the ones who did if voluntarily and the ones who had no choice. Both in Nazi Germany and Soviet Union your chances of survival when being against the system were low.
Don't ignore Wehrmacht warcrimes The idea that the Nazis were the only bad Germans in WW2 is very misleading and ignores a great lot about the nuances and events of the war.

Yeah no. The Americans did actually prosecute individuals involved in the massacre of prisoners. For example, two massacres of Italian prisoners after the Invasion of the country. The Germans promoted those who committedsuch acts. Don't be naive.
The irony is it was germany and WW1 that secured communism. Before WW1 it was just a small movement for the most down and out workers. WW1 blew it up into a huge thing, driven by mass rage at the people profiteering from the war and the "elites" who were responsible for it. The Germans then smuggled one of the biggest names in Russias anti establishment movement back into Russia and helped fan the flames of revolution in the hope of taking Russia out of the war. War shocked and enraged to the point of irrationality revolutionaries suddenly seizing authority in a neighbouring country? It was a bit like setting a fire in your neighbours house to stop the current argument and hoping the fire wouldn't spread
@@raam1666 Yes it was. The Germans smuggled Lenin back into Russia along with several of his colleagues when they realised they were losing. It was a desperate gambit and it worked as it did trigger a revolution in Russia which took Russia out of the war. The germans still lost anyway. As for WW1 and communism. It cannot be understated how much that war drove up hatred of capitalism. One French soldier being sent to the front line reported arriving to see over 30 thousand deserters shouting about the things they wanted to do to the capitalists (youtube filters that sentence but it's pretty obvious, begins with a word that rhymes with deaf). This kind of thing became increasingly common place in all the armies. The modern form of communism may have been penned in London and warped into state communism in Russia but it grew in the trenches. Without WW1 there would have been no aggressive communist wave

they should be SCREAMING at each other just to hear each other's voices over the sound of the engine lmao
True but this scene would be a lot less dramatic if it was pinpoint historical 😂
In line at a fuel point one summer ground guiding a truck. A miserable looking tanker is poking out of a hatch behind me.

Battlefield 5 was a masterpiece... The story, the depth, the music, the multipayer. It's a pity that it had to give way for bf 2042 ...
Too bad they didn't invest more time into it.
Like a multi expansion pack with the campaign along with the online expansions would have been optimal.
That's the quietest tiger tank that I've ever seen...
US command in the area after realizing what their intentions was and quickly absorbed them into ranks and they found themselves fighting Nazi hold outs in the mountains all over after Hitler called out for guerilla warfare. I'll never forget him telling me these tales late at night around a fireplace. He said he always suspected the Nazi's were doing creepy and horrible things behind the scenes but left it at hear say and rumor, but near the end of the war when no one cared in the ranks of the Nazis he saw their true colors and what they thought. I'm glad I could experience third person what he saw for reals.........so fucking chilling....
this never happened
I haven't played fps games in years (except doom and Duke nukem) have WW2 games like this always been this masterful at storytelling? I've only really played cod waw and valiant hearts in terms of war games.
Yeah pretty much. COD WWII is a masterpiece of a story coming out just a year before BFV that you should check out too. However the latest WWII based game, COD Vanguard, should be ultimately avoided as its filled and rampant with inaccuracies and just generally not fun to play.
@@thek.g.b301 from what I heard vanguard biggest problems are that it's woke and too soft for a ww2 game
@@joed2431 The best game cod ever made was WaW which you already played so there’s that. Like I mentioned before, the next best story by them is CoD WWII. After that for their World War Two games, the only things they have left is like the much older first games they made like cod, cod 2, cod 3, whatever. Just don’t touch Vanguard.
Evil or not those outfits were Uber cool
Battlefield V campaigns were actually good. Specially the first one and this one.
Gotta love the xenon lights on a PzKpfw VI ...
Dude the ending of this story was sad ngl i hate that kid who was hardcore nazi 😂

This is going to be controversial, but regardless of what you think, we are all human in the end. Each with our own hopes.
Some people are just monsters, not human at all, even with their own flaws
Lukewarm take but I agree.
To be fair, not all Germans were bad during WW2 only the Nazis
Out of the 89% of the country that voted during the 1933 election only 43.9% favored in the Nazi party, the majority of the country did not want nazi power in there country
Even during the war the Wehrmacht and SS were different separations of groups SS being nazi members and Wehrmacht being non nazi members there were even generals in the nazi military who despised the SS and seen them as barbaric, they did say they were a usefully group during the war if you were in a tight spot
But almost all if not all agreed they were Barbaric and criminals
Eastern Europe would disagree. The German army also helped the German death squads of the east murder 2 million people. The death squads were 3000 men. The army helped them a lot. It's not a hard search, the werhmacht have a long list of crimes they committed in the war. They weren't exactly angels that could call out the SS when they helped them constantly and carried out much of the killings and rounding up of undesirables and Slavic POWs to either die or work to death.
I would say that it is important to differentiate between the ones who did if voluntarily and the ones who had no choice. Both in Nazi Germany and Soviet Union your chances of survival when being against the system were low.
bit of revisionism eh?
Don't ignore Wehrmacht warcrimes
The idea that the Nazis were the only bad Germans in WW2 is very misleading and ignores a great lot about the nuances and events of the war.

I am really glad we went over and helped secure world communism...
@@moreplease998No it wasn't.
