  • @armurazor0

    Something is missing in this contest: noise.
    Secondarily, the longevity of the fans. Which explains, among other things, the price differences. We could go so far as to compare the consumption and maximum speed of each.

    • @JamieR
      @JamieR Před 9 měsíci +6

      Contact is also missing. As many of these coolers don't get proper contact without a plate. I know we go to GN for those types of in-depth reviews, but it's important. Same goes for fin stack IHS coverage.

    Air coolers are more reliable and last longer plus cheaper

    • @bigchannel1320

      @@morgan3625any liquid evaporates when heated, after about a year or so you need to refill it, also if it leaks then your entire PC is bricked. Air cooling is more reliable due to less complications, also if a fan breaks, you can replace it, but if a pump breaks on an AIO “oops well I guess I gotta buy another one” AIO’s are even recommended to be replaced completly every 5-6 years, air cooling will last as long as the fans, and even past that due to swappable fans

      @@renelackner3081 thermalright peerless assasin, USD 30 on amazon, and runs about the same as an entry level AIO, also another thing to look at with AIO's is the radiator noise, wheras fans can be swapped when too loud, if you get a low end AIO and it's loud, then theres nothing you can do to change that. Also not to mention you cannot replace anything inside an AIO without it being severely difficult

      @@morgan3625 except for the fact that unless you are overclocking aio's are pointless.. nevermind the fact that in 2-3 years you are better off replacing the aio before a leak or a complete pump fail happens and instead of paying $30 for a fan you are paying a whole $100 for another aio..

    How about tossing in the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120SE? It has 7 heatpipes. The Coolermaster has 8. The Noctua nhd15, and Thermalrights Peerless Assassin, and DeepCool AK620 all have 6 ...so I would be curious to see a heatpipe shootout between Cooler Master, Noctua, and the PS120se. At the same price as the peerless assassin the phantom spirit could be an even better value if it can get closer to CoolerMaster with that extra heatpipe.

    The cool thing is that the Peerless Assassion performs even better if you were one of those that already had a u12a, therefore you had a pair of NF-a12x25 fans. My build is black and white, so I had white ends on my NF-A12's. I have them on my PA-120 with a Ryzen 9 5950x on an AsRock x570 Taichi Razer edition. Runs super smooth, keeps things a touch cooler than the U12a did, and the all white Assassin looks sick in my build with black fans rocking white rubber corners. Not to mention the Assassin is quieter with the Noctua fans as well. Super happy with the 'upgrade' even though it was less than I paid for the u12a.

    would go with a Noctua every day all day and 3 times at night. all of these air coolers are able to keep an Intel i7 13700 @ between 56 and 63 degrees. This is not a competition, its pick which ever one is the best price / compatibility / or that you love. I don't LOOK inside my PC that often, but for $38 (amazon b grade refurb that did have scuffs on the housing that were easily removed with alcohol and a wipe) my AMD Wraith Prism RGB cooler does better for my 5900x CPU. when I go to get the RGB utility for this cooler from the AMD website it takes me to a cooler master website. Interesting. Side note: Wraith Prism does not require the software if you use the Asus software or Bios lighting settings. It works in sync with my Aura setup.
