best advice is to get a generator or back up batteries. FPL prepped for the storm just incase but transformers and equipment often fail and its something no one can control only maintained. from what ive gathered at work looks like its just a strong strom man. 4 inches of rain is what other sources report the area will see tho. some thunder here and there. itll be gone by 8pm sat

Just because Tampa has been lucky for so long- it doesn't mean that pathetic area with the worst infrastructure in history, 1970s quality building codes and the stupidest local govts on Earth won't get pounded and destroyed at any time. Also, TECO (Tampa Electric) is the most incompetent utility in history and if a real storm ever affected Tampa- power would be out for 6 months.
