I am deciding between this paddle and the J2K. I find the ruby too under powered. I have the TKO- CX 12.7mm now, but I can't control my dinks or resets. I had rotator cuff shoulder surgery, so I need a little more help from my paddle. Do you recommend the Shapeshifter or the J2K for me? Love your reviews!
Very interesting. I’m all about pop, power, and spin. You touched on all three of the things I look for in a paddle. Control is something I learn as I get more comfortable with the paddle, but as long as I can overpower with my shots and spin I find that it makes up for my lack of control and strategy. This paddle would indeed be a welcome tool to my game. Thanks for the review. ✌️
It's a nice-looking paddle. The design of the 18K weave gives it style. In such an oversaturated market of great paddles, having some style is a big plus for me.

Curious your take on 14mm paddles vs 16mm. Are we at the point where paddles under 16mm aren't needed anymore because 16mm are just as powerful (or close to 14mm)? Thanks!

Wow, 18K triaxial weave and 3 layers(2 carbon fiber, 1 fiberglass). It looks like Edge, but it's hybrid shaped and Edge is elongated, so expect a larger sweet spot. Thank you for the review without which I would have missed such a good paddle. I saw this one in John Kew's database but didn't pay attention to it until now.
Excellent review - I loved the spin from the 18 K weave on the Diadem, but it needed more power, so I am interested in whether this paddle will fix that issue. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on the newest paddles!

What is the difference between t700 and 18k ?
If "peel ply" is what gives a face "grit" then how can this "weave" add to spin?
The way that the surface flexes and contours around the ball will affect the way the ball will react. This happens under the peel ply.
