This sub is actually designed to be part of a desktop monitoring system. One thing that it does not have that most home theaters subwoofers have that it needs to have to be used in this capacity is a power setting so it goes in standby

Most of the ratings on Amazon are about the Presonus E3.5 studio monitors, not the sub...

The low pass adjustment on this sub still functions when the high pass to the main speakers is engaged. that is to say it is always adjustable, I own this and I just double checked. This sub is accurate and smooth paired with my Yamaha HS 5 's in a 13x10x8 untreated room and I never turn it up past a quarter gain. I just tried stuffing the port with a t shirt and It got even smoother and tighter. I use it for mixing not bass heavy music but if I turn it up it gets way too loud quick if I want it to. I cannot afford the matching yamaha HS series sub and at this price point I think this is the way to go as I dont trust mackie or behringer. If u dont trust amazon reviews this presonus has good reviews on sweetwater.

Nice sub for the size and can be used as a micro sub for your 2 channel setup. Also Merry Christmas to all of you who believe.

Yeah, I bought one of these, along with a pair of the Eris 3.5 speakers on my local Facebook for $120 maybe a year ago. I didn't love the 'monitors' so I sold them off but I've got to say, the sub is pretty decent for the price and size. Not overly boomy and I've got them dialed in with a pair of Adam T5V monitors. This system is for evaluating music, but it's in a fairly small bedroom office that's about 10x14. Obviously this isn't a party rig but can play louder than my needs. The speakers were $300 for the pair and I have about $70 in the sub. Even at the current new prices of $400 + $200 I'd say within their volume constraints, they are a very decent choice for someone wanting a fairly neutral small system. These last couple months, I've actually had a pair of the Swan OS-10 speakers in that system. Much smaller and obviously the tweeters don't compare to the ribbons in the Adams but still not bad... not bad. I'd say if you had something like the OS-10s (very decent quality, but only a 4" woofer) adding a sub where you can filter out the bass from the signal from those speakers is going to make a tremendous difference vs just running them full range.

    in mine setup(zen air,presonus 5 xt,sub 8)it can't go up more than 1/4 of the gain way!!
if I start the gain volume up more than 1/4, it plays very loud and squeaks.
the set certainly plays very well without a problem, but I think that the sub gain is very low

So I just went to Amazon Canada, 299 and almost all the reviews for this sub are for the monitors, not the sub. Amazon is bad for that, lumping all of a brands reviews in with every product. So I'm calling bs on this from the get-go.

I just purchased the Eris sub8BT and I will say it's a more than wonderful addition to my 2 new BOSE S1 pro plus... Although They don't "need subs" I never want to get close to abusing my beautiful BOSE babies😢...... and they also look like they were made for each other sleek and sheer Minimalistic, and Uniquely Powerful! . The bass is tight, smooth and agile... I was torn between this and some kinda Rockville mdf wood speaker but reviews said too much about Buzzing... just like the 3.5 satellites to this sub say in it's reviews. My s1pro+ goes below 20hz , like 17.5hz and these just put really nice amounts of chocolatey, thick, rich, bass. My girlfriend fell in love immediately listening in the front yard. I would definitely attempt a small gig at a cafe or Bar/Club room. Whole set up is BT weighing about 45 lbs.! Not sure if I should get another or get something "Rockville " as a Backup's Back up🤔🤪😁

I have an old Sony subwoofer- Active, which has only one input.. And on my kind of older AV Receiver - Onkyo TX-NR616, there are two subwoofer Pre-Out RCA jacks... So the connection was simple,... Just connect one pre Out Subwoofer on the receiver to the speaker. Stupid question: How would I connect my AV Receiver to this subwoofer? Please show us in the next video, if possible.

Maybe as a pair, maybe, or (like I have) as a "fill sub", combined with something else that handles the 20-30Hz range? (I have a little 8 inch next to my chair, and a 12 inch for room fill).
I'm also in a freestanding house, pretty sure that my 8+12 would *not* be suitable for any kind of shared walls/floor living, so maybe that's part of the product suitability/ratings as well, getting *enough* bass for a small space, but not so much that the neighbors get involved.
Waiting to see what you think!

    • @bitdevice
