In this video, Adam teaches the owner of Johnnie-O how the wrist hinge can help you hit it further with less effort. The Set position is a critical element in the Porzak blueprint because after achieving the set position, the golfer can just make a big shoulder turn to the top and then back down.

Once this clicks on the course its one of the greatest feelings there is - 50% effort, 150% power and control. Adam is the best there is.
🚀
Your comment gave me goosebumps just thinking about the possibility of this happening.
I had this light bulb over the head moment yesterday at the range. My jaw dropped when I saw my 5i go about 80’ at the peak 😂
This guy is the best golf instructor I have ever watched and I have watched them all…
Watch Dan grieves. Short game specialist.
& this guy is spot on too.
Just light years ahead of other golf instruction. Keep it up Adam 👍🏻
Another quality video . Along with the left hip bump . Changed my game!! . I’d love to come over from England and have some golf sessions with you. The best on CZcams, Adam. 🙏
I know
Yes
Yep
lol yeah hearing the student talk was brutal.
Most underrated golf YT channel there is. Why watch anything else when this guy is around?
No one discusses the hinge and shoulder concept like this. Great video/job!!
Bro! This is so good. I have always had trouble letting it settle at the top of my swing and it should be set before it gets to the top. Makes so much more sense for consistency too
Love the beach ball drill! Thanks! This helps my wrists set and keeps me from standing up and early extending! Thanks, Adam!
This is seriously easy to understand information on what’s a hard area of the swing to teach. I’d love an in person lesson with you!
I never got the problem in my swing till I listened to you talk about wrist hinge got on a sim and saw crazy results thank you best coaching
You use great visuals and break the swing down in an understandable way. I get in a bad position due to bad set up and takeaway. Thanks so much for your videos! I plan to work on some of the feelings you teach in your great videos.
Just practicing the drill in my lounge - feels great and looking forward to trying it on the course tomorrow morning. Thank you. ❤
I’m sure I’ve watched over 1000 CZcams golf videos and I don’t think I’ve ever seen the takeaway trained like this. I was doing it the way you showed not to do it based off other videos I’ve watched. I just started trying it a bit on the practice net and it seems like this along with keeping a flat lead wrist and maintaining side bend might be what finally helps cure my flip and free up my rotation through impact. Seems like this will simplify things a lot and will hopefully help with consistency. Love this channel, I’ve watched them all the main channels and there has been some really great videos on here lately that are really helping. If I ever hire an online coach you’ll be there first one I consider.
Another classic. Thank you thank you thank you 🙏🏼
Man I can't wait to try this. I think its long been the missing link for me. I've heard it before but the way you taught it, it sunk in. Exciting
Best hinge video I’ve seen keep it up 👍
I don't know if it is just because I'm personally working on this a lot at the moment, but seriously, almost every couple of seconds of this video had a useful phrase that instantly made me see this part of the swing in a new light. Kudos Adam. This was just rapid-fire gold nuggets✨
unbelievable how much this cleared the picture I needed in my head. thank you
LSoB! Anyone that gets to spend quality time like that with Adam is one "Lucky Son-of-a-Biscuit!" Great session... I think I'm going to start all of my practice sessions from that "position of power".
Thank you Adam ❤
Adam... gold medal material. Thanks to you my swing is shorter, has FAR fewer moving parts, and balls rocket straight. Fewer moving body parts is really what most of us hackers need to keep the ball in the grass. Thank you, thank you. 🤟
Everything you say makes sense. I started last week with a shorter backswing and my round found much better. If I had putted better I would have loved the round. I’m getting better compression and more accurate.
Great video here I have been using the drills in this video and hitting the ball much better
Thanks Adam! This (and your other wrist hinge videos) have been really helpful. The thought/feel that seems to help me is to feel like I'm "blending" the hinge with my takeaway and turn. Until I saw your videos on this I always thought of the hinge as an isolated motion that happened after the takeaway. I see now that was not effective.
Pure gold right here !
I really loved Mike’s video on how to hinge the club too. His big tip was to squeeze the pinky finger on your left (lead) hand. That one thought has the made the hinge in my swing quite effortless.
Can you add a link to this video? Would be helpful. Thanks
Porzak Reaaly the magician.. this is what im looking for.. Love you man
Outstanding teaching.
Love this video!
Awesome tip. Just what I needed. Lost my drive. From straight to low and diving hook.
Love your videos, just pure Gold. I am searching years for proper hinge feeling.
One question about it:
Where should the Club face point after the 45° hinge without turn 🤔
Great lesson tips
Another amazing video
This guys passion pre, during & post lesson is unmatched
Was at the range today using the thoughts from last lesson before this, low point beyond ball. Also made a very slight grip adjustment.
Dispersion on my 6 iron was insane. It’s like one big dot on top tracer app…Thanks again guys!
Great to hear! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 throwing darts!
Next level instruction!
Love how passionate he was, like something clicked and it all finally made sense
I’m a new fan, awesome!!!
Hands low and set the wrists! Never heard it stated that way, but that’s an awesome takeaway thought. Great stuff, brother 😎
I needed this today, thank you
No problem 😊
Great video! I’ve been working on this and getting into a great pre-impact position but I’m having a hard time squaring the club and every time it’s going to the right.
LOVE THIS
This video just saved Golf for me... I was slicing everything. 5 minutes of doing this and I'm hitting little draws!
works great for my irons, struggle with this thought with driver though
Adam I have gained so much in the 6 weeks I’ve been using your methods and I am 67 years old I’ve never hit the bal straighter 🎉
Keep it up! 💪🏽
For a second I actually thought you’d got Scottie Scheffler with you 😮 great video 😂🏌️♂️⛳️
crazy, i figured this all out on my own took me god damn 3 years, when i could of just watched this video.
Great video! I've been working on this drill a lot lately but I'm still confused when I should hinge my wrists- is it when my hands reach the right pocket area (for a RH golfer)?
I don't know how good this student is but he is like a hair away from being very, very good
I wish I could spend a month getting in person lessons from you. I have been trying to incorporate several of the things you cover but I feel like I don’t quite hit the checkpoints in the exact positions I should.
Took this thought to the course and have never had better iron play. From PW to 4i everything was flush and the misses were still very solid.
Much easier to stay connected and compact cause the brain knows the clubhead has that loaded energy.
Hi Adam, does this apply to the driver swing also?
Hi, does your left hand pull the swing through the shot, or do you hit through the ball with your right hand. What's best, thanks
Great
Such a great drill. I’m doing this 1000 times before our next lesson 😂
You got this! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I imagine this as putting a seat belt across my chest (my left arm) and then rotating while trying to keep my arm across my chest for as long as possible. It's such an effortless feeling when things are clicking
Seatbelt as in to stay connected - arms connected to chest? Thanks
John's swing looks a little like Matt Kuchar....really nice!
The trail arm or right arm bicep is your key to a shallow of the club
Try this out, put the club in the backswing as he has described in the back swing
Video
Now take your right bicep an extend it just a bit not to much
Another words move the right wrist from your shoulder.
This shallows the club an extends the lead arm just enough while you have the leverage or lag now swing down.
You don’t have to manipulate the wrist an flatten the club.
The shallow keeps the club in plane just below backswing plane. Keep the club head on path of the plane until under your waist then you can start tipping or releasing the lag you have created.
It is really crucial that the lag you created by the pressure you used with the wrist push down remains constant throughout the swing until rafter contact with the ball.
Same goes with the thumb pads touching at address.
Work on this with small swings a your short game 140 yards an in will get much better!
As a 3hc who struggles dumping it under the plane, this is THE ONLY golf channel I sub to. All the rest is regurgitated crap. Regarding THIS video, I'd like to know your perspective on how much hinge you like to see in the driver. Thanks Adam.
How do you feel about wrist position trainers? Specifically the ProSendr is what I'm considering, but to keep it generic so as not to sell or offend a brand.
Yep
Do you keep the hinge all the way through impact?
For me this is achieved by Minor yes pressing down on the handle But Major by the butt of the grip being the last thing to move! as tho a strong rubber band was attached to a wall It is microseconds but the body must move first helping keep the arms soft and heavy and in front of the chest
Oops i think you went on to say something similar!
This video would be 1000x better if the guy wasn’t saying yeah, yes, right, yeah every two seconds
Yes.
Yup
YEAH
Right
Haha I can't unhear it now 😂
Are you feeling the hinge in the right hand at all or is it in the left?
hi, can we use this metode for woods, hybird or driver?
Of course
Do use push down and away with all clubs including the driver
Yes!
Great video If the student is used in the future, needs to stop YES, YUP, GOT IT, RIGHT, I KNOW every second.
If I don't watch this video... I got nothing. If I'm doing this drill... I got something! Thanks
Smashing is tension.
Short thumb vs Long?? It looks like you’re long?
Your page is money
Hardest part is when we swing effortlessly at the range because we know it doesn’t matter but when we are actually on the course it goes from 75% to 100% and it’s all down hill from there. Hook, shank, pull and duff. FML.
Money
This is a great video but Jon please just listen lol.
This is a lesson that I needed, but the student makes it almost unwatchable...and you can't turn the sound off because you miss the wisdom from Adam...smh.
How many times does the student have to say yeah…yes…yeah…are these the only words he knows. Annoying as hell otherwise a good instructional video.
