    Porzak is 100% right in his beliefs. Absolutely fantastic. No one can argue with him about creating a solid, repeteable swing. Forget theories, angles and magic tricks. Stick with him and forget all the garbages that others try to impose to you. The man is really a genius and deserves all respect.

    Adam, I just wanted to drop you a comment to thank you for your excellent instructional videos. At 66 it has been a tough journey back to the game after a 15 year layoff. Your video instruction made me realize why my iron game was so inconsistent. I now understand what keeping the arms in front of the chest means. I am finding the middle of the club face, gained 5 yards with what feels like an effortless swing. Keep up the great work and I hope to see some of those young guns you train on the tour some day. Thanks again…

    Hi, I am working on the wrist hinge and putting downward pressure on the club like you teach which is great. However at the moment doing this and getting that 45 degree hinge and putting pressure downward on the takeaway I feel this is a very conscious move. When I go to the course I am trying to not think about the mechanics of the swing and trust my swing as I get tense thinking too much and trying to relax more. Will there be a point where this takeaway technique becomes second nature and I won’t have to think of it when I go to the course? Should the hinge just hinge naturally in the backswing anyway? Thanks

    Another short, to the point tips video - awesome 👍

  • @TeddyCavachon
    @TeddyCavachon Před 3 měsíci

    The biggest mistake in the backswing is starting too fast. Just imagine there is a chain or rope connecting club head to grip and use a pace in the takeaway that will keep rope pulled straight. The rope goes slack if you try to lift and steer the club with the wrists, the lead elbow bends and swings the club head mass on an INEFFICIENT path.
    An efficient swing is one where the kinetic energy generated by accelerating the arm and club head masses do all the work.
    Think about what has more mass, the club head or lead arm? At address its the arm but as the club head increases in velocity its force increases with square of velocity V^2 and can start pulling the lead arm mass out from the path it would swing on if not holding the club. One can generate a lot of power swinging a club with just the lead arm but not much accuracy. The accuracy comes from the leverage created by folding the trail arm elbow down to control the path of club head and lead arm mass!
    Connection of lead arm to body at the armpit and proper use of the Vardon grip are essential for maintaining a consistent and rigid arm triable and getting the trail arm to fold consistently to create the same leverage a food server uses to lift a tray over shoulder and control it effortless. Learn to keep the slack out of the rope and lift the tray over the trails shoulder and you will have more consistent ball striking.

    I find when I intentionally hinge like that it makes my arms buckle at the top. The club momentum folds it as it's already at max hinge.

      @xcvbxcvb2179 Před 4 měsíci

      I'm not a golf instructor so take it for what it's worth. For a right playing the right arm should fold and get close to the body. The left arm not so much. If new to this hinch it will take some time to get stretched in your right arm. Also don't go too far into the backswing, since it might make your upper body sway. The coiling spring body turn was an unfortunate concept that should be torn out of the book.

      Intentionally hinging while pushing down with my palms helps keep my “triangle”. It also shortened my backswing and gave me a more full (fuller) shoulder turn. This has helped me find that simple smooth backswing and I have been SMASHING it! I feel like I’m only picking the club head up with the hinge and everything else just follows into place…….just DO NOT CHIP this way!!

    I could not hinge the club high enough,I think my left thumb was on top of club too much if I turned it a little to right side of club I increased hinge to the amount you were talking about could it be that easy.

    I’m a new golfer, I started last summer basically shanking everything straight right, struggling to get the ball into the air, endangering the entire driving range. I didn’t make much progress the entire summer, I started getting the ball in the air occasionally, but it was a massive slice. After the warm weather went away I spent all winter inside my house just practicing my swing and doing a bunch of drills that I seen on this CZcams channel and this spring I put it into practice for the first time and was striking the ball very well, I progressed very quickly and now I can hit the ball far, and most importantly I can hit a very repeatable shot directly at my target about 9/10 times. I just recently filmed my swing for the first time and was appalled by what I seen, I thought my takeaway was straight back and I also thought I was hinging the club perfectly like I had seen in these videos so many times.. the reality was that my takeaway was incredibly janky, I was rolling my forearms instantly on the take away, pointing the butt end of the club directly at the target. In my head I was pushing on the butt of the club but when I watched the video back I was doing that but the angle in which I was doing it was completely off, I was basically hinging parallel to the ground instead of on plane. I will say, I was miraculously still getting the club onto plane fairly quickly after the janky takeaway and my position at the top was still money, and the club shallowed nicely in the downswing. Moral of the story, you should be filming your swing, I never did that until just a few days ago and I learned that what I thought I was doing was not even relatively close to what was actually happening. Now when I’m practicing indoors I have a full length mirror so I can see where the club is going, and I film all my range sessions from now on. I had such a beautiful swing outside of the takeaway and hinge, all of my positions were exactly where I wanted them to be outside of those parts, so now I just need to put in some work and iron that out. Fortunately for me, even with that terrible takeaway and hinge, I was still striking everything very pure, I have picked the game up very quickly, I’m beating all my friends and family that have been golfing for years. Thanks largely in part to this CZcams channel. You would not believe the strides I made over the winter without even hitting a single ball, I was just drilling without the club and taking practice swings on my carpet(don’t recommend, destroyed my carpet). I went from 1/10 balls getting over 5 feet in the air and the 1 ball that did was sliced off the planet, to being able to hit every club in the bag with relative ease. If I can do it so can you, I think people learn bad habits and play with those habits for years so they’re hard to break, which is why I was able to surpass so many people when I just started.

      If dealing with pain in the lead arm, the same methods apply. You want to make sure you use the lacrosse ball to loosen up the muscle. On off days, you will need to strengthen the muscles that attach to the elbow.
